House in small peaceful village with restaurant, snack bar and bakery.

Updated: 20-Oct-2016
4 bedrooms all ensuite and private pool with spectacular views and set in a quaint friendly village.

The house is situated in a quiet village, 20 minutes drive from Pineto beach and about the same to the Gran Sasso mountains. It is 40 minutes from Pescara airport, 1.5 hours from Ancona airport and 1 3/4 hours from Rome airport. It is surrounded by some fantastic medeival villages, it is inundated with great restaurants all serving fantastic wines. We are looking to organise white truffle hunting and cookery classes. Some guests this summer have described the house as the best they have ever stayed in, the testimonials have been added to our personal website. The property has high vaulted ceilings, it is double glazed and has shutters to keep the heat of the day out. The village has a restaurant, a bakers, a post office and a bar. The local supermarket is a short drive. The house also has a fire place and is fully centrally heated. Ski resorts are about 1.5 hours away, so it is a good winter option too.

We've been coming to Italy for the last 15 years and this is the best villa that we have stayed in!Gorgeous rooms all ensuite.Kids and big kids all loved the pool. Both restaurants in the village were exceptional in value and quality of food. The Allen family August 2011.

Fabulous week in Abruzzo!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful and exceed our expectations! We spent the most lovely week lazing around in the pool and eating in the local restaurants.

The house in Villa Bozza is clearly used by the owners family and, everything that you could possibly want for a relaxing family holiday is there! We would recommend visiting Abruzzo to anyone who enjoys good food, good weather, and discovering Italy's best kept secret! We will definitely be back!

The property was of the highest order it had everything we we required and more

  • 5 of 5

The holiday that we experienced at this property was one of the best that we have had. We all work in high stress jobs and this was the perfect location in which to unwind. The property managers were very helpful and friendly, giving advice on where to go for days out and ensuring that we were well catered for. the only down side was the mosquitoes but there's nothing that can be done about them other than cover up after about 17:30. The village was also very friendly especially the hotel/restaurant, fantastic food at a very good price. I would highly recommend this area for a holiday.

very lovely

  • 5 of 5

We had a very lovely holiday in this house. Rooms were all very comfortable with own private bathrooms and lovely views from windows. The swimming pool area is really excellent, very private and with all the facilities you could wish for. The house is beautiful and felt like a real home ....not always the case with rental properties. We found it a great base for exploring the area and there are so many lovely and interesting places to visit. The local town of Atri is very pretty and in the second week of August was buzzing with all sorts of events(street theatre, music etc). There are many gorgeous old hill top villages to explore and the local people are very friendly and warm. We loved our local bakery in the village . The local restaurant was also very friendly but we were not too impressed by the food on the one occasion we went ...it might have been an off day, as they were hosting an enormous party of local people at the time. The only things we did not like about the holiday were the mosquitoes, which in the evening became quite a hazard, sometimes keeping us indoors. However, the house is so lovely and restful to be in and in the end we did not find eating indoors in the evening much of a disadvantage. We would certainly recommend this house to others and think about returning again ourselves.

Owner's Response: Hi Nicky, Thank you for your review and sorry to hear that you had issues with the mosquitos outside, I guess that that is difficult to control, but will discuss with Sylvia to see if we can invest in some citronella lamps. Apart from that I am pleased that you had a good holiday. Best Regards Duncan Cashmore

Great Location to Explore Abruzzo

  • 5 of 5

Villa Bozza is a great location to explore Abruzzo. Only 20-30 minutes to the Pineto Beach, which is a great beach and beach town. When not at the beach, we were in the pool or touring around. We had all adults, so we appreciated the en suite bedrooms. Everyone had their own retreat. The house is well equipped and well-maintained. Pool area is lovely and very private. We would recommend this property to friends.

Loved the town of Villa Bozza, the friendly people, bakery and Il Gallo restaurant. The other restaurant mentioned in the information booklet was closed, but, if you want local, try Sotto la Cerqua in Manzitti, Cellino Attanasio, on a nearby hill.

There is a small market Conad in Atri. It has a little of everything and takes credit cards. Parking close may be a problem. But they let you take the cart to your car.

Use bug spray (provided) when eating at the table in pool area near dusk.

Trash was a bit complicated.

Perfect location for a relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

The house is located in the charming village of Villa Bozza with break taking views of the mountains and local countryside. The house is spacious with each bedroom having its own en-suite and it is furnished in a lovely rustic style in keeping with the age of the house. The outside pool area is perfect with plenty of sun loungers, tables and chairs to choose from either in the sun or shade. We loved visiting the local villages and also the beach, as the village is only about 20 minutes’ drive to the sea. The local people are charming and helpful and eating out at the restaurant in the village is extremely good value for money.

From the Owner

When we first saw the property, we new that it was ideal. It was old, full of character and in desperate need of a full refurbishment. The opportunity to bring this amazing house back to life and at the same time put our own stamp on it, was a challenge we were keen to take on. It took a lot longer than we thought, but the end result was well worth it.
