3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa near Casarabonela, idyllic peaceful and private rural location

Casa Olivo nestles on the hillside just outside the village of Casarabonela, surrounded by olive and almond trees. There are beautiful views of the village from the house. Built and decorated in traditional Andalucian style with beamed vaulted ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and traditional wooden doors, but with every modern comfort. There is a covered patio for outdoor dining, BBQ, and large balcony overlooking the pool. Unique shaped private pool with roman steps surrounded by sunny terraces and sun loungers with beautiful countryside views. Comfy outdoor furniture shaded by parasols. Fresh drinking water from the tap. Aircon/heating in all bedrooms.

Casarabonela is 40 minutes drive north west of Malaga on the edge of the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park. The house is well situated to explore this beautiful part of Andalucia with its rich wealth of culture and an ever changing tapestry of stunning and dramatic landscapes. Walking, climbing and horse riding are all close by.

About The Owner

My parents and I live in England and we bought Casa Olivo when I was a teenager. We have enjoyed many family holidays there since.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2005

Why The Owner chose Casarabonela

Spain has always been a favourite destination for us. We wanted somewhere picturesque with great views that we could make into a real home from home, so we could just go and chill out.

The village of Casarabonella is a real gem, untouched by modern tourism yet well equipped with shops, bars and restaurants.

The surrounding area is so pretty and very green, apart from in the height of summer, with orange and olive groves and wildflowers in abundance.

What makes this villa unique

As far as the finca goes it was love at first sight. It had 2 bedrooms and no pool at the time and was done in rustic Andalusian style, we added a third bedroom and a pool. It's position and views took our breath away. It is the perfect peaceful and secluded getaway, and if you want to venture out, it's not far to the beautiful sights of Andalusia.

The pool is available for use between May and October. Utility Room: Washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board. There is also a washing line outside. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels provided and changed weekly. Beach towels are not provided. An information pack is provided for local restaurants and attractions. A small safe is available for valuables.

Beautiful villa in lovely location

We stayed at Casa Olivia for a week in mid-October. Our party included myself, my two kids (9 and 12yrs), my partner, my friend and her son, 12yrs. Despite the falling autumn temperatures, the boys still made full use of the beautiful pool - which is actually much bigger than it looks in the pictures. The villa is set in pretty gardens with plenty outdoor space and a range of spots where you can tuck yourself away for some peace, lounge by the pool or enjoy an al fresco lunch. Inside, it's very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's comfortable and characterful - the woodburning fire was particularly appreciated on chilly evenings. It's a pleasant walk into town - it took us round half an hour, allowing for children's small legs - yet wonderfully secluded. Our only visitors were a family of friendly cats who would call for breakfast and supper each day - much to the kid's delight! Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa Olivia - it's well located, thoughtfully equipped and great value.

Lovely rustic villa, clean & well maintained with great pool. Feels secluded despite neighbours. Great views, convenient for picturesque Village with basic shops (larger supermarket a drive away) & only 40 minutes from the airport!

Local contact Caroline helpful, visited lots of local towns- Rhonda is beautiful. Quite a rural area & well off the tourist track.

Casarabonela is typically Moorish with narrow winding streets of white houses and totally unspoilt by modern tourism. Family run bars and restaurants provide a place to enjoy the local cuisine and it has several bakers, butchers, fishmongers, supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy.


The nearest beach is Los Alamos, next to Parador de Golf just to the west of Malaga. In fact the Costa del Sol is more or less one long beach with beach bars and fish restaurants in abundance. Torremolinos is a nice surprise especially around La Carihuela beach with classy shops and lots of little restaurants.


There are 2 golf courses within 40 minutes drive, Lauro Golf and Alhaurin Golf, both near Alhaurin el Grande. There are other courses a little further away.


Malaga airport is 40 minutes and the house is situated 1.5km up a rural track. Car hire is essential.


Casarabonela - 10 mins drive.

Alora - 30 mins.

Ronda - 60 mins.

Malaga - 45 mins.

El Chorro/Caminito del Rey - 40 mins.

Antequerra - 60 mins.

Marbella / Puerto Banus - 60 mins.

Guadalhorce Reservoirs (Andalucia's Lake District) - 40 mins.
