Local Rental License number: 4367/AL Outside: Windmill Hill is a low rise spacious complex, consisting of only 91 units. Set in beautiful landscaped garden the swimming pool with children’s section is positioned alongside the restored windmill and overlooks Albufeira old town and the magnificent coastline. There are plenty of sunbeds and sunshades available around the pool as well as large grassy areas. A snack bar is available during the summer months, there ia a tennis court (equipment available for hire from reception), mini football pitch and plenty of free parking for guests. A computer with internet access is available at reception (1 euros for 15 mins). The apartment is at the end of a small block of only six apartments and has its own private large sunny terrace with BBQ, dining for 6 people and sun loungers. There is also a clothes line and pegs (as well as a clothes maiden inside the apartment which can be used inside or out). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels provided. Guests will need to bring their own beach towels. Electronic safe provided. Maid service twice per week. Other: There is a full size 5th single bed (pull out) and a spare single mattress, the apartment can therefore sleep up to 6 persons. If preferred a 'put you up' bed suitable for a child is available for use in one of the bedrooms.

Apartment was spacious and well laid out and good location.

First morning, Sunday, all the power went out. Agents office closed so no help. Fortunately I have a reasonable knowledge of electrics and managed to get it back on. Next day same problem which I was able to determine as a faulty toaster. On the Thursday my wife shouted for me to get in the kitchen, the mixer tap head had come off and a fountain of water soaked her. Again I have knowledge in this field and was able to refit the tap head. A bit disappointed to find the patio sun area shaded by two large palms and concrete beams above the sun area.

Owner's Response: I am really sorry to hear that you had problems during your stay. Our management company's office is closed on a Sunday but they do have an emergency 24hour number for problems e.g. no electricity. They will deal quickly with any reported problems. Our toaster has been replaced and the mixer tap checked. There is some shade on the patio but by moving chairs always enough sun to sit in.

Nice apartment near the pool, walking distance from the beach and town.

Clean apartment with expected white goods (fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, cooker) all working (some basics (salt, pepper) in the cupboard, dishwasher tabs and washing liquid provided). Good size living area, patio would be a little cramped for 6 but was fine for 4. Plenty of books and DVDs left by previous people.

Good quiet location near the top of a hill. This apartment is in a development with shared swimming pool and cafe/bar area; although it doesn't look out onto the pool area it's only a minute's walk away. WiFi sporadic inside the house.

Lots of parking spaces if you have a car.

It felt like home away from home we (me, my wife and our two kids) absolutely loved the house. Especially my daughter who didnt want to leave!

I just do not know where to start! - from point A: enquiring to Z: leaving there is at no point I can find fault or complain. This is by far the best holiday home I have stayed in. There are 2 large bedrooms one en suite the other right outside the bedroom. The kitchen is seriously a kitchen from home, every item you can think of is there, along with dishwasher and washing machine. - living room tv, (satellite sky sports etc) Dvd,cd player, leather sofas. - the patio is huge and a nice patio set. - we used the log fire at night and it was very warm and an added luxury. It is a steep climb, however if you know before you are prepared. Chris the owner is friendly polite and helpful. I CERTAINLY will be staying here again. Thanks chris for a great holiday home!

Fabulous & spacious property.

Stayed at this property last week, the whole apartment is really spacious, two large bedrooms and bathrooms. A large terrace to sit out & chill. Everything you need is provided.

We found the walks down to the centre a really easy walk no more than 10 minutes and no problem getting back up. I would say if you had difficulty walking then you would possibly struggle. The pool area is really good fairly large pool and plenty of sun beds, lovely bar with friendly staff.

The whole experience from booking with Chris the owner & our transfer from the airport to Albufeira was first class. We would have no hesitation in recommending this place and will be going again next year.

Great apartment, very spacious and well equipped!

Wonderful apartment, larger than the pictures lead you to imagine!

Fully equipped with everything you could possibly want including a fridge freezer, dish washer, full oven and hob, washing machine and all the standard kitchen appliances.

15 minute walk to the old town and main square which is bustling with entertainment and eating places.

We walked down every night but got a taxi back on a few occasions as it was quite a steep slog up part of the way back to the apartment.

The complex has a lovely pool with plenty of loungers and parasols and glorious panaramic view across Albufiera

The whole experience from the ease of booking and the communication from Chris the owner was first class!

The complex was so relaxing and peaceful and after the hustle and bustle of the square it was lovely to retire to the haven of the apartment! And the beds were lovely and comfortable too, which always helps!

There is a shop area in the bar by the pool for essentials which is open until midnight for those little emergencies! There is also a fully stocked supermarket just 5 minutes walk away.

Would definitely reccomend this apartment and complex to anyone looking for a break in Albufeira close to the old town and square area

The lovely town beach with its golden sand is only five minutes walk away. A longer walk along this beach and over the cliff tops will bring you to more secluded coves and beaches. Within a short drive there are numerous other beaches varying from the sandy coves at Sao Rafael to the long stretches of golden sand at Gale, Praia Grande (near Pera) and Falesia.


Windmill Hill is only 35 mins drive from Faro airport, there are many car hire companies to chose from. Taxi's are available at the airport or taxi transfers can be organised by our management company (currently 35 euros each way for up to 4 people, 50 euros for up to 6 people) who can also help organise boat trips and excursions (office 5 minutes walk).


Walking Downhill - Beach and supermarket 5 mins. Old town centre (square & restaurants) 10 mins. Nearest bars & restaurants 2 mins. Marina (boat trips) 10-15 mins. Regular bus services are available. Driving - The lively 'strip' area (shops, bars & discos) 5min drive (taxi 4-5€), approx ½ hour walk or take the tourist train from old town centre. In car - Golf 5-10mins; Water Park 15mins (buses available); Shopping complexes 10-15 mins; Lisbon 2½ hours or direct train from Albufeira station.
