About cinzia petucco

We are a family of four, my husband is a farmer and I look after the properties we let . We have been living in this area for 20 years and are pleased to share the peace and beauty of our countryside with other people.

We try to do everything we can to make people feel at home and help them in case of need, so we are really happy when our guests say they had a great time here with us .

Why cinzia petucco chose Acireale

We love this area , where we live all year round, because it's still an unspoilt area, it's very peaceful and at the same time easy to access. We have been dreaming for a long time to restore the house of Camellia and , when we managed to do that , even if a lot of efforts, it was a dream come true. We did it with much love and you can feel it when you stay here, as some guests of ours told us.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Casa della Camelia has a special charm as it's an old house that we restored very accurately and it looks like a family house , cosy , intimate and comfortable. Everyone loved sitting under the old Camellia tree and relax in its shade enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the place.

This is what a guest of ours wrote about our house :" The house of Camellia is a rare find in Sicily. It is beautifully located in a quiet secluded place among citrus groves yet it makes a perfect base for visiting the most interesting places in eastern Sicily. The house has one more thing , which is hard to find among vacation rentals in Sicily, tastefully furnished and decorated interiors, it's perfectly clean and well maintained. We found absolutely everything we needed in the kitchen and in the bathroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"This restored farmhouse lived up to our expectations completely. The old family farmhouse has been restored using good quality fittings and furniture in the traditional Sicilian style, all done in very good taste. Situated inside its own plot of land, the house is surrounded by lemon trees. From the roof there is a nice view of M.Etna & the surrounding lemon trees that cover the land. The house is 25 min drive from Taormina and an hour from Syracuse. It is very easy to access the motorway at Giarre. I would suggest this house would be ideal for anyone who wants to get away from it all. We very much enjoyed our peace & quiet in the evenings and our BBQs. Nuncio and Cinzia are wonderful relaxed, friendly, country people, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye. I cannot recommend staying here enough!" (Simon R.)

"We had a wonderful time and would recommend this place highly to anyone looking for a vacation in a beautiful location that is relaxing. The owners were very friendly"(S.V.Canada

Sweet house in peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the Casa della Camelia. The weather was fabulous, mid thirties every day - long hot nights under the vines watching the lizards scurry around and listening to Mount Etna rumbling made for a very special and memorable holiday.

We loved the ice cream places and the pistachio pastries. We found (almost) private rocks to swim from and bask in the sunshine.

Sadly we did not meet Cinzia who was away, but Nunzio answered all our queries and was very gracious.

Definitely a hidden gem!

Thank you!

Great property in a lovely setting.

  • 5 of 5

Having had phone and email contact with the owners (Cinzia and Nuncio) we had good directions for finding the property, which was off the main road (it would be fairly necessary to have access to a car - and it took us a few days to get used to driving in and out of the gates, set in a stone wall). The three of us that stayed there for 2 weeks found the farm house and the setting delightful - the property was beautiful and very clean, decorated and maintained. The owners, who lived nearby, were very sociable and helpful, with both support and advice. Being set in lemon groves, the house was cool in the hottest parts of the days and there were lovely plants and trees all around - also good views of Mount Etna. The property was also quite handy for travelling about, both north and south, and for driving up Etna. Some of the places we visited were beautiful and interesting (however, we found the actual driving a bit nervy at times! However the motorways were good, as was the road up Etna). We ate out a number of times - Il Tocco (recommended by Cinzia) near Acireal was good - especially for vegetarians. We also ate in Taormina several times - there are lots of restaurants there, and we did not find a bad one We have no criticisms or faults about the property, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or relatives.

Our stay at villa casa della camellia in Sicily

  • 4 of 5

We had stayed at villa casa della camellia for two weeks back in June. We were impressed by hospitality of the owners Cinzia and her husband. We totally enjoyed our stay, especially lemon trees around the villa and the view of Etna.

casa della Camelia

Excellent for exploring the east of Sicily – use the motorway.

Good walking around Etna and Pantalica.

Good bird watching around the house and at Magnisi and Vendicari salinas.

Flowers in April were amazing throughout.

The house is in a very quiet position among lemon groves and is just a few minutes drive to a large, well stocked supermarket.

Excellent large bedrooms and dining/ living/ cooking area, well equipped, good bathroom although the hot water was rather cool.

A cool, even cold position over the winter, ideal for the summer months.

Splendid patio with excellent shade guaranteed all year from the Camelia tree. It also had good exposure to the sun until about 1500hr when the roof patio gets the sun.

Tranquility in the Lemon groves

  • 4 of 5

Casa Camillia is a lovely little cottage situated amongst the lemon and orange groves. The accommodation is clean and well looked after with all the little things that you need. It is comfortable in a rustic way. The pictures present a realistic view of how we found the accommodation.

Cinzia and Nunzio are lovely people, they provide all the information you need to help you get there and what to see in the local area Try Nunzio's home made wine it is tremendous. Also accept their offer to explore their estate, as it is a lovely stroll through the groves with an explore of the abandoned houses.

You need a car to get there and around, but it has easy access to the main motorway which gets you anywhere on the island. The Views of Etna from the terrace are amazing especially at night when the lava is flowing.

This is a great place to relax on the terrace, explore the Sicilian antiquities or go to the beach. I would gladly return, as this is real value for money at Sicilian prices.

Beautiful villa amazing holiday.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time here and didn't want to leave. In fact we're going to go back for our wedding anniversary. The villa is in a great setting and handy location. Inside everything is top quality, clean and very comfy.

The holiday was made even better by the owners friendship, local knowledge and the amazing homemade produce ( the wine is delicious).

We're looking forward to going back.

"We stayed at the holiday home, the Casa Della Camelia at the end of May.The house itself, was beautiful. It is in a peaceful and quiet location, with wonderful views of the countryside as well as views of Mount Etna, and is surrounded by lemon and orange orchards. Inside the house, was clean tidy, and kept beautifully. Everything we needed was already in the house. The house has been maintained brilliantly. The owners of the house Cinzia and Nunzio, are the kindest people you could wish to meet. They are so helpful, and kind, and brought us fresh fruit from their farm as gifts, as well as home made wine. They live very near by, and were always happy to help with anything. Cinzia speaks very good English as well, which was very helpful. Everything about our stay was heavenly. There are beaches near by, and wonderful restuartants, and places to go.
