Seashores (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6)

Seashores is a three bedroom apartment with a yellow and blue theme providing accommodation for 6 people.

The entrance hall is accessed from the inner courtyard and opens into the sitting/dining room featuring a wood burning stove. TV with freesat, DVD player, CD and tape player are available with a selection of DVDs.Free WIFI.

Adjacent is a well equipped kitchen which has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

Also at ground level is the bathroom with bath, shower attachment, shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, one with double bed,en suite shower, wc, wash basin and two with twin beds.

Outside is access to laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer.

About the property


Didworthy House is found in the tranquil hamlet of the same name, within the Dartmoor National Park, in an outstandingly beautiful natural area. Located 2 miles from South Brent down a typical pretty Devon lane. This historic house is situated on a gentle south facing hillside with gorgeous gardens running down to the River Avon. The wooded valley is noted for the purity of its air which allows many of the trees to attract a unique lichen and is a haven for wildlife. A birdwatchers paradise! The three self contained apartments provide quality accomodation of character and successfully combine a traditional style with modern conveniences. Guests are invited to use the owner's outdoor heated swimming pool at set times from July- end of August. Parking is available, 1 car per apartment, at the front of the property. Guests are assured a warm welcome, with a mouth-watering cream tea and fresh flowers on arrival and the owners will endeavour to ensure that the holiday is memorable.

A lovely house in an idyllic location

I travelled down with work friends for a Wedding in the area and we had the most wonderful stay. The location is just so stunning - we all want to come back for a longer visit so we can explore more! Thank you so much Sue for your hospitality.

Idyllic location and extremely hospitable owners

We are just back following a lovely 4 night stay in Seashores which is located in the most tranquil and relaxing area standing in beautiful grounds backing onto a river.

Steve and Sue are great hosts and maintain the property to an excellent standard. Seashores is a real “home from home” which is very well equipped and very cosy.

We would highly recommend this property and hope to return someday.

Gorgeous accommodation, beautiful setting!

A wonderful property from start to finish. The house is well appointed, the pool a great way to relax and the beautifully tended gardens a joy.

I stayed at the Seashores house with my family (two boys, a wife and a Labrador) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. All of us loved the gardens, the bird life (particularly the Nuthatch) and the tranquillity of the setting.

Sue and Steve were warm and welcoming from the beginning - from the scones on arrival to imparting helpful local information for walks and good beaches to visit. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

Delightful stay in a stunning location

I stayed in the Seashores apartment with my family in April and was delighted by the quality and comfort of the accommodation and how helpful and friendly Sue and Steve were. The living room/dining room is very spacious and comfortable even with six people there, and the kitchen was kitted out with everything we would need, with tea bags/coffee, some milk and washing up liquid provided. We were even greeted with fresh scones, jam and cream, and eggs! The apartment was warm and I think it would feel cosy even on a cold winter's day. There is a large downstairs bathroom and an en-suite upstairs, both with good showers. The three bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and we slept very well after a day of walking on the moors! It is in a great location for exploring the countryside and there are maps and leaflets available with lots of information about the area. There is also a little porch area for keeping your muddy boots. There was plenty of parking space, and Sue kindly booked us a taxi to go into Totnes for the evening, which was about 20 minutes away and cost £40 return for a six-seater.

Would absolutely recommend this lovely apartment, and we hope to stay here again!

There are numerous sandy beaches in the Kingsbridge area -Bantham beach, Bigbury on sea, Blackpool Sands all within 30min drive.

Plymouth Cross Channel Ferry Port 25min.

Main line train services from Totnes.


South Brent is the nearest village with shops, pubs, banks, Health centre and Dentist and is within two miles.

The Turtley Corn Mill at Avonwick is a renowned pub/restaurant using local produce - 3 miles.

Totnes on the Dart estuary is 10 miles away and is a market town with a full range of shopping and banking facilities, pubs and restaurants and regular markets.

Paignton and Torquay are within 20 miles and are busy seaside towns with beaches.

There are many public footpaths and bridleways directly from Didworthy House and walkers can be on the moors within minutes. Horseriding and cycling is available locally on the moors or green lanes. The Avon Dam at Shipley Bridge is a well known and visited beauty spot. Dartmouth is a beautiful historic town on the River Dart and is a popular boating centre with a famous regatta. It is also a fishing port and fresh catches are available on quayside. The town is rich in art galleries and fascinating shops with an abundance of restaurants using local produce. Salcombe another popular sailing centre is 20 miles away and provides many watersports.

Newly opened is the Dartmoor Zoological Park near Ivybridge. The South Hams is a food-lovers paradise and there are many restaurants serving local produce and freshly caught seafood to tickle the taste buds. The owner has an an arrangement with The Pantry in South Brent to provide various packs of local produce e.g. organic breakfast packs, local cheeses and chutneys, which the owner can have available on arrival at cost price.   • Notes on accommodation: Open all year. Short breaks available out of season. One dog accepted in Moorlands and Seashores. Electricity and full oil fired central heating are inclusive. Towels and bed linen provided. Travel cot and high chair available. Logs for wood-burner - first basket free thereafter at a cost of £5. The owners will arrange delivery of fresh eggs and other local produce if required. Seasonal garden produce may be available for purchase. Outside: Owners' large heated outdoor pool available from July to end of August from 10am to 6pm. Children to be accompanied at all times. There is shared garden furniture on the lower terrace and other areas of the garden, with barbecue facilities available for all apartment guests.
