The beach is only a short 5 minute walk through the cobbled streets of the village, and For those who enjoy walking, this is a fantamstic area for walks along the stunning coastline. Burgau has many excellent restaurants and bars. There is also an excellent and award winning beach bar.

Burgau is located on the edge of the Costa Vincentina national park with many unspoilt and beautiful beaches and other historical venues including a castle.

There are shops, supermarkets, restaurants and pubs in the village of Burgau, and a daily visiting fruit and vegetable market.

The Burgau sports centre has an indoor pool, tennis court, playground and other activities for adults and children.

There is also a cash machine in the village and many others in Luz and Lagos.
