About the property

Great location, 3 minute walk to the Beach, Harbor & Village Center, secure complex 2 pools.

The complex 'Vila da Praia' is in a gated complex, in a excellent location 3 minutes walk to the beach, Alvor center or Harbor. The complex has a lovely garden area, which surrounds the 2 swimming pools, one for adults and one for children. The apartment is a 1 bedroom that is suitable for 2-3 people. We provide free WIFI, 32 inch Flat screen TV with USB Port. We have two sofas, dining table for 6 and a patio table for 4, we provide, bath towels and linen, we have heating, air-conditioning, plus a rotating fan for next to the bed for the extra hot nights, a washing machine, 4 ring hob, an oven, a micro wave, Fridge/ Fridge, hair dryer, a safe, iron & Ironing board, CD Player/ radio, DVD player, UK & Irish TV Channels. Our Balcony is West facing and gets great evening sun in late spring, summer and early Autumn for people watching.

Why Jenny chose Portimao region

We had been to Alvor a few time and loved the beach and the village but we could not find accommodation we were happy with, until we stayed in Villa Da Praia. We just loved it...... We had never thought buying an apartment abroad before but, we fell in love with Alvor and then the complex.

Buying the apartment was one of the best decision we ever made. The old fishing village charm, yet busy and bustling atmosphere and the super restaurants. The beach must be one of the best in Europe. to sit in one of the beach Bars and watch the sun set, is heaven to us. Over the years we have made so many friends, so every visit for us is a gathering of friends, from Scotland, England, Ireland and Portugal.

What makes this apartment unique

Location, Location Location, we are just 3 minute walk to the center of Alvor village, the beach and harbor. All apartments in the complex are privately owned and the owners are very particular, so the complex grounds and the swimming pool with the shady palm trees are very well maintained.

Our apartment is very comfortably furnished, we visit regularly and keep the apartment up to a good standard. We have a balcony that get evening sun and this is where we sit and watch the world go by on a evening. We have a full bathroom, sitting room/dining area with WIFI, double bedroom and our kitchen that over looks the courtyard. We just love it and we get a lot of repeat business so we must be doing something right.

Just a note as it's our last evening in Alvor. The sun is still blazing down, no breeze and it's very hot. We've really enjoyed our first visit to Portugal. Your info pack was great. Buganvilia was such good value and great food. We did it twice along with the chicken place and Vagabondo.

We have very much enjoyed staying in your apartment. It's so clean and comfortable with everything you could need. The washer has saved us from having to bring 2 suitcases. The location is terrific. The pool is really great. Joana was lovely when she met us. Thank you so much for all your help. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Outside: 2 x communal pools, one for adults and one for children, the apartments are set within a secure private complex Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned on a weekly basis for those staying for more then 1 week. Other: Balcony get evening sun in late Spring, Summer and early Autumn and has a table with 4 chairs, perfect spot for people watching.

Perfect in every way

Amazing apartment clean spacious , fantastic location for all amienties , very well equipped , everything you could possibly need including air conditioning , very nice pool , very welcome when the temperature was 34 degrees , never had problem getting a sun bed but umbrellas hard to come by by afternoon but as there was a couple in apartment no issues , gquite a few kids , and despite the teenagers been told several times that large footballs were not allowed in pool by the attendant this fell on deaf ears and that of there parents Very rude .

Shopping trolley handy for supermarket , loads of towels , balcony in shade all day so very welcome retreat from the hot sun , apartment on 1 st floor but is a lift , access to complex by key operated lock , no noise issues at all despite being on busy road . Alvor is a beautiful working fishing village , with picturesque cobbled street , rather like a rabbit warren you never no what around the corners ,although there is the customary tac shops there is no discos loud blaring music , live music manly in the Irish bars , a couple of bars did karaoke , but no signs all over saying English this ans English that cheap breakfast etc so not commercially spoilt ( yet ) Hope it doesn't happen

The beach I cannot begin to describe it's so beautiful clean soft golden sand that goes on forever accessible by miles and miles of boardwalks well worth the walk right to the far end to the amazing little coves , the crystal clear warm ocean ,,,, oh I wish I was back there We will be booking again real soon and surges you do too you will not be disappointed Guaranteed !!!!!!!!

Great apartment in fantastic gated secure development

We have stayed here before and love it for the peace and quiet. 5 minutes walk from the seafront sunset bars or town restaurants with the lovely boardwalks along the beach or river area to enjoy. The apartment is well equipped and affords a sunset view from the balcony.

Excellent Holiday Accomodation

Hi Jenny

Thanks for a lovely holiday in your comfortable apartment, we found it very convenient for the great boardwalk , restuarants and shops.

Special thanks to your residential manager Joanna, daughters Claudia and the wonderful Suzie for helping us out with our predicament. To explain this further - driving from Faro Airport in our hired car we were hit by a reckless motorist who did not stop. Resulting in this we were very shaken and in a state of shock on the first day of our holiday. We were given so much help from Suzie and her husband ( on his day off from work ! ) in finding the appropriate Police Office and reporting the occurence . If Suzie had not helped us with this it could have proved to be very difficult. Again many thanks for the personal attention we received.

Luckily the rest of the time spent in Alvor was great and we much enjoyed our time in Lisbon afterwards.

Hope to return another time.

Excellent apartment in great location.

It is a very comfortable and well-equipped apartment in great location, just a short stroll into the centre of Alvor and the beach. Alvor itself is the perfect location: a traditional fishing village which maintains an authentic atmosphere whilst offering superb facilities for visitors.

Alvor wonderful sandy beach is 4km long, unspoilt and amongst the best in the world from our apartment it is about 200 meters

Travel:

Travel to Faro Airport 45 mins drive will bring you to Alvor. We can arrange transport to and from the airport on request.

Further Details:

The local food just has to be tried, with fresh fish straight from the mornings catch. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, producing some of the best food of the region. There is also a good selection of Pizza restaurants, Chinese, Indian's and good Steak Houses. Some of the bars have live music. There are also quieter bars for those who prefer the sound of good conversation. Typical tourist shops in Alvor. For a good days shopping go to the Aqua shopping just Open in April 2011 it is only 5km away. Plenty of shops and food eatery/restaurants.

Booking Notes:

Prices are quoted in euros and are based on a maximum 3 people sharing.

A deposit of 30% is payable at time of booking and is non refundable. The remaining 70% balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival.
Payment is by bank transfer,.

We reserve the right to refuse any reservation requests at our own discretion. We do not take bookings of part of a large group (Hen or stag parties). We do not refund deposits if a booking is found to be part of a large group.

Changeover Day:
Check in is after 14:00 hrs on arrival day and check out is before 10:00. Other arrangements are possible if no other guests are coming in/going out the same day.

Children are welcome,(no markers,crayons,paints,pens etc) long term renters welcome, non smoking only, no pets allowed, suitable for elderly or infirm.

It is each guests responsibility to organised their own personal insurance.
