Villa in Trebaluger, Menorca, Balearic Islands - Tranquil Country Setting With Uninterrupted South Facing Views

Our home in Trebaluger is in a quiet cul de sac bordering farmland and countryside giving you peace, tranquility and uninterrupted views. The centre of the village with a fantastic family run supermarket is a comfortable ten minutes walk away. It is 15 minutes drive from both the Airport and into the port of Mahon, with its bustling markets, shops, galleries, theatre and quayside restaurants alongside the marina. Both Sant Lluis, built by the French in 1750 and Es Castell, built by the English in Nelson's time, are a few minutes drive away. Sandy beaches at Alcaufar, our favourite, Punta Prima and Binibeca are no more than 15 minutes away; similarly tennis, sailing, wind surfing, scuba diving and cricket are all within easy reach. Much of the Island is now protected as a UNESCO 'Reserva de Biosfera' which makes it a favourite for walkers, birdwatchers and wild flower enthusiasts, particularly in the Spring. Archaeologists are catered for too, with numerous sites to visit.

Clean, well equiped and fast fibreoptic broadband

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday here in early August 2016, arrived to find the house spotless and well laid out.

The garden is mainly lawn but with some interesting added areas that includes a large fig tree and various fruit trees, a gin and tonic with a home grown lemon was an unexpected delight !

The children made full use of the pool and were able to walk in safety to the local shop for supplies.

Every evening we were able to barbecue outside and our days were spent lazing by the pool or exploring the huge choice of beaches - during the heat of the midday sun the house stayed beautifully cool so I could retreat there with a book.

This house feels like a proper family home and it comes with my full recommendation.

Beautiful,peaceful villa in beautiful surroundings

Have just booked our 6th visit to Casa Popa having first discovered the villa in 2013. We have been travelling to Menorca for the past 27 yrs and have never before returned to a villa, so l think that alone says a lot about this villa. When we first arrived I was speechless,it is like home from home one gets a wonderful feeling as soon as you walk through the door.The villa is situated in a beautiful large quiet well established private secure gated garden not at all over looked by neighbours, whilst there we were able to help ourselves to the fruit from the numerous fruit trees, the swimming pool is a good size clean well maintained on a regular basis throughout ones stay and again is safe for children as it is gated,there are plenty of loungers by the pool and tables for eating alfresco one being so large we were able to entertain 9 . The decor inside the villa is tastefully done clean and well kept.The kitchen has every appliance one would have at home so much so I was able to bake a lemon cake using the lovely lemons and my husband cooked a rib of beef when we entertained.On an evening we used to sit on the upstairs balcony drinking champagne watching the sun set over the nearby town. We always come back from Casa Popa so relaxed and refreshed, the pace of life is so relaxing,there is a local shop in the village so one does not have to venture far if one does not want to, there are two lovely beaches a short drive away if you want a change of scenery but I doubt you will because at the end of your stay you will not want to leave I never do. The manager of the villa can be easily contacted and very helpful if there is a problem. I would recommend this villa to a wide variety of people, families, couples and grandparents as there is plenty for everyone.

From the Owner

This is where we come to escape from it all, enjoy the view, peace and quiet and a beautiful climate. Our children can walk safely to the local supermarket and we are within half an hour's drive of half a dozen beautiful sandy beaches. We spent a year finding the property and another year completely renovating, redesigning the house and landscaping the garden. Making it very much our home in the sunshine, much enjoyed by family and friends alike.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Mahon at 2.6 Miles Nearest Barpub : San Lluis at 0.7 Miles Nearest Ferry : Port Mao at 4.4 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Binifadet/ Hotel Biniarroca at 0.5 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Alcaufar at 1.9 Miles Car: recommended


In addition to the attractions already mentioned Menorca has something very special such as dozens of lovely untouched beaches and gorgeous countryside to explore, by car, bicycle or on foot. It also has the densest concentration of prehistoric monuments in Europe.


Mahon airport is 15 minutes drive from the house. It is a north/south runway and does not affect us at all. Monarch Airlines now have flights from Luton and Gatwick as well as Easyjet. Car hire is essential and suggestions for reliable companies can be given.


Trebaluger, a comfortable ten minute walk to the supermarket. Sant Lluis and Es Castell, five minutes by car - for an English paper and more extensive shopping.

Mahon, which is a must for sightseeing and shopping, is maximum fifteen minutes by car. Nearest beach, our favourite at Alcaufar is 12 minutes by car.

Casa Poppa is in a secluded cul de sac in the village of Trebaluger a short drive between Es Castell and Sant Lluis and sandy beaches nearby. There are stunning views of the surrounding countryside. With children in mind, the property has a secure walled garden, a gated terrace to the swimming pool and a large lawn. Outdoor table tennis is also available. We have just installed a filtered drinking water system.

  • Inside: Extremely efficient (and silent ceiling fans) make air conditioning unnecessary in our property. Recently installed kitchen water purification system - safe drinking water provided. Very well equipped kitchen for all cooking and requirements. Outside: Extensive gardens give great pleasure with a large assortment of native plants and trees, including lemons, fig, palms, hibiscus and bougainvillea and herb garden. A shaded BBQ area seating 8 with a preparation/serving area with outdoor sink and a large dining table. The private swimming pool 8m x 4m has tiled steps at the shallow end and, serviced twice a week in high season. It is set within a gated terrace with seven sun beds and an outside shower. The large lawn gives a good playing area and lockable entrance gates give total security. An outdoor table tennis table is available on request. Our gardeners tend the garden regularly. There is a clothes drying area outside the kitchen. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: A weekly maid service is provided when the house has a light clean and towels and sheets are changed. A more frequent service is available at extra local cost. Please bring your own beach/pool towels or these can be hired by prior arrangement. Other: The Entrance Hall also has double doors to the east garden. The Turret/bed sitting room above the salon provides a quiet room, a shower room, and a large south facing terrace with a wonderful view towards Punta Prima and west to San Luis
