Beautiful property with heated pool in the Vendee

  • 5 of 5

A revisit, our first ever one anywhere after many years, this being nine years after we first stayed. It was everything we remembered, both the property itself and the welcome from Tracey and Roland. The gite is close to the owners so there is support if required or you can just be left to your own devices. Your privacy if you so wish is secure, but Tracey and Roland are on hand if so desired and they are great, both through the whole booking process to payment and to returning your deposit as well as being friendly, helpful and informative when you are actually there. The gite is spotless, the back bedrooms remain cool which is great for the kids and you have a welcome basket upon arrival. The upstairs lounge is roomy and there is free view TV and the master bedroom is spacious with an ensuite. Outside we particularly like the great walnut tree which provides shade over an outside table, there is a spacious lawned area for any games or just a simple kick about and the pool is lovely and heated. There is also a games room. Locally in the town there is a boulangerie, a small supermarket and on a Friday night a bar that works with a fish and chip van. The menu of the day in the local restaurant was also good as witnessed by all the people dining at lunch time - simple, hearty fair with wine included. There are good supermarkets in both directions. A must if you stay is a visit to the Puy du Fou - brilliant, bonkers in some ways, but excellent and great entertainment for all the family with spectacular shows. It is only half an hour or so away. Whilst this time we did not do too much you can get to the coast if you so wish, we just had great fun trying all the local little roads and working our way to and from the gite. All in all, highly recommended and if you stay we wish you a great holiday! Our thanks to Tracey and Roland for another great week.

Fabulous - heel tof, sfeervol en rustig

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed 3d/4n at La Bernerie on half april and we've had a very good time there. The gite is wonderfull, cosy, well maintained and very well equiped and is situated in a calm rural town. Our children loved the games room.

Easy reachable by car form Belgium and north of France by the A11/A87.

We spend two days at Le Puy Du Fou and a day at the Vendée beaches.

We thank Roland and Tracey for there warm welcome, we greatly appreciate the supplied tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and local wine, honey and eggs for a good start of the holiday.

Ongezien.

Perfect for our family of 5. Great place to relax.

  • 5 of 5

We all absolutely loved it. Our three children range from 17 to 22 and were very happy lounging by the lovely pool, playing table tennis, darts and badminton. They even loved playing Monopoly and chess in the evenings.

The property was extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Even a hairdryer. We really appreciated that as we had no room to pack ours.

Roland and Tracy were absolutely lovely and so helpful. It was great that their house was behind the gite so we knew if we needed anything they were close by.

All in all, we had a very happy holiday. Gorgeous weather and a lovely location - easy to drive to from Calais too.

Lovely hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Labernerie (2 Adults, 3 Children) The gite is well equipped and beautifully sited in a small farming hamlet. The outside space is superb and the Badminton and swimming pool were well used and appreciated. Tracey and Roland are very welcoming and are on hand for any help that is required.

I heartily recommend others to come and stay and enjoy this property.

Fantastic family hideaway in beautiful countryside

  • 5 of 5

We had the best holiday here ever! This wonderful and characterful gite is spacious, clean, much loved, very well maintained, very well equipped and has everything you need for quality family time and relaxation in a beautiful countryside setting. There are lots of activities available in the local area but we chose to spend much of our time at the gite enjoying the fabulous private pool, large garden and games room that is well stocked with a table tennis table, table football, darts and lots of garden games. The kitchen, appliances and equipment, bathrooms, beds and bedding etc. are all modern, clean and in very good condition. We enjoyed many lovely family meals on the large table in the garden. It is very quiet save for the distant sounds of cows and chickens in the local fields. The lounge upstairs is very comfortable and there is a vast selection of films and books to enjoy. Wifi was consistently quick. The owners of the gite were very welcoming, engaging and helpful. Lovely people. Could not have been better. We hope to return very soon!

Luxury accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house in December 2015; we were welcomed by a lovely Christmas tree and spotless accommodation. The facilities are superb, with everything you need for a holiday away; from wine glasses to a garlic crusher. Our hosts were discrete but on hand if we needed anything including extras such as a map of the local area. Many thanks
