Casa Canda is a beautiful, well appointed 2 bedroom cottage located in the quiet village of Praia da Luz. It has sea views. Only 250m from the beautiful sandy beach of Praia da Luz. Restaurants, shops and 2 excellent supermarkets are within easy walking distance. To the front (south) it has private pool with terrace, bridge and water feature. (The pool may be heated at extra cost) To the rear it has a private terraced area for car parking. The cottage is maintained to a high standard. On the lower floor, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 with an en-suite shower-room. There is a separate family bathroom. Patio doors lead to terrace, sunbeds and pool. On the upper floor, a nice sized lounge/dining room with patio doors out to balcony and patio furniture/BBQ. The kitchen is new and includes granite work surfaces and washing machine. The lounge has 32" wall mount satellite TV and beautiful log fire. Electric heaters can be provided for winter lets. 3 golf courses within 5-10 minutes drive.

Coast/Beach:

The glorious sandy beach of Praia da Luz is a 5 minute, 250m stroll away. Very safe for children, with the added attraction of rockpools at one end of the beach. In season, water sports are available, including banana rides, windsurfing and pedalos. There are also a number of horse riding centres in the Luz area, which cater for all ages and levels of skill.

Travel:

Faro airport is approx. 55 min. drive with hire cars and taxis available. A new section of motorway(A22) opened in June 2003 connecting Faro to Lagos. Junction 1 is just 5 kms from the Cottage. Alternatively regular trains run between Faro and Lagos. The Cottage is just a 10 min. taxi from the train station at Lagos.

A car is not required but can be rented in the village for day trips to explore the Algarve. There is car parking available for guests at the rear of the Cottage.

Distances:

The Cottage is well situated in the village of Praia da Luz - in a convenient location suitable for a family, beach, golf or walking holiday. The nearby resort of Parque de Floresta offers squash, archery, riding, a gym and a beauty salon. There are riding stables at Almadena offering rides in the unspoilt countryside. The market and fishing town of Lagos, with harbour, new marina, markets, restaurants and shops is only 5 km.

Further Details:

Praia da Luz has surprising facilities for a village. There are lots of restaurants, catering for all tastes, as well as bars, banks, post office, and even a cinema. Several supermarkets are tucked away in the back streets. The largest (Baptista) is close at hand. There is a 24 hour medical facility as well as dentists.

Notes on accommodation: Please note there is flex in sleeping arrangements - double bed, 2 twin beds, double sofa bed, 2 * single sofa/chair beds. However, and for your comfort, the accommodation is for a MAXIMUM of 6 people - 4+2 children. Room fans are provided. For winter lets, there is a beautiful log fire in the lounge - logs can be provided AND electric heaters can be provided for the other rooms. Outside: The private pool is approx 8.5m x 2.8m. 4 quality sunloungers are provided for the use of guests on the adjacent terrace. On the upstairs balcony terrace, dining patio furniture is provided together with a stainless steel BBQ. Sea view from this balcony. Car parking is provided to the rear. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid service/cleaning is provided at changeover and mid-week. Linen is changed once per week. Towels are changed mid-week ie 2 sets per week. Other: To accommodate larger parties, we also have another property, ref. P1590 which is located only 800m away, 100m back from the sea to the west of Luz.

5 Star Accomodation

Case Canda is a delightful holiday cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It’s very well equipped with everything you need, the decor is very tasteful and it’s very clean. The British tv and free WiFi are a real bonus. Sadly we didn’t get to use the pool at the end of November, as the water was too cold, but we’d like to come back again earlier in the year to get the benefit of it. The location of the property is perfect; it’s in a quiet neighbourhood and the supermarket couldn’t be any handier, as it’s literally just around the corner! The beach and main centre are very short walk away. Luz itself is a super resort, as it has all the shops and restaurants you need, and it’s a very charming and peaceful town suitable for families and couples. I would highly recommend Casa Canda and thank you to Chris and Anne for all the clear instructions sent in advance.

A little gem of a find

Just returned from 2 weeks in this lovely little villa. It is perfectly located in the center of Praia da Luz , and so convenient for Supermarkets , Restaurants , Bars and Shops. It has everything you could need and more. I would happily recommend it to all.

Now nearing the end of a 3 month stay

Now nearing the end of a very enjoyable 3 month stay at Casa Canda. A very Cosy comfortable cottage that you immediately feel at home in. Chris & Ann are easy to deal with and Laurinda and the rest of her management team could not have been more helpful. We would recommend this cottage to couples and families alike. So thank you Chris, Ann and Laurinda's team for making our winter stay so comfortable. Oh yes and the log burner is wonderful on a cool night.

Great villa, in a great location - excellent!

We had a fantastic time at the villa and I couldn't keep my daughters out of the pool! Villa met our needs perfectly and is in a great location. We loved Praia du Luz and Lagos and I expect that we will be staying there again in the future. The beach was great and combined with the rock pools made it perfect for my crab hunting kids - and the unexpected highlight was catching a live octopus!

The whole booking process and arrival was very straightforward with Chris and Ann with Laurinda providing excellent local support. The villa had everything we needed and the maids coming in was perfect along with the friendly pool chap. We didn't need a car as the Villa was in the centre with the Baptista (next door) and Spar (2 mins) supermarkets very close by, beach 5-10 mins and the bus to Lagos 5 mins away.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location

We enjoyed very much our stay here for a week in July. The cottage has everything you need, including a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The Beach is a 5 minute walk away, and supermarket and restaurants are very close by, but still the cottage is in a quite area. Highly recommendable!

Lovely quiet break in the algarve

Stayed in this lovely villa for a week. There is everything you need to make it a home away from home. The villa is set just a few minutes walk away from the beach, in a nice quiet residential area. The local supermarket is literally 20m away - so very easy to get your groceries. There are several restaurants in the immediate area, and more along the sea front. All are reasonably priced. There is a good bus service which goes frequently into nearby town of Lagos - well worth it for a day out. The beach is lovely golden sand (no pebbles). There are sunbeams available to hire, but if you walk further along, there is another batch, which are cheaper (€10 for 2 sun beds and a parasol). If you are after a massage, then there are also massage tents offering a range of treatments - reasonably priced too.

To summarise, this villa is perfect for those wishing to have a nice quiet relaxing holiday.

A 25% deposit is required to confirm a booking. The balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. An additional security deposit of £150 is required together with the balance. This will be refunded within 21 days of departure. Cancellation up to 4 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday will incur loss of deposit only. During season the change over day is Thursday. In low season only, if this is not convenient please enquire.

All prices are 7 day prices for 3/4 people.
Extra persons may be accommodated at £25pppw
At all times other than school holidays, discounts are available for 1/2 person occupancy - please ask.
Pool heating is £250pw.
Logs can be ordered for the log-fire at £35 pw.
2 Electric oil filled radiators are offered at £35 pw.
Extended winter lets are available - please enquire.
