Apartment in Riviera del Sol, Costa Mijas, Spain - Secure Development, Convenient For Golf And The Coast

Paraiso is situated in Rivierra del Sol. 16km from Marbella and 12km from Fuengirola, a 25 minute drive from Malaga Airport. The Apartment is on the first floor with sea views from the balcony and close to the pool and sauna. The local beach and shopping precinct is 20 minutes walk away. Here there are also a good selection of bars and restaurants. There is secure garage parking, a lift, the world renowned Mira Flores Golf Club and Academy is a few minutes away. There are numerous other golf courses in the vicinity. La Cala de Mijas is a quiet resort and beach 8 minutes away by car, Puerto de Cabot Pinot has a small marina, waterside restaurants and bars, is 10 minutes away and there is superb horse riding, mountain biking and walking in the Sierra Nieves above Marbella also local fishing. Fuengirola has child attractions. With a car you are ideally situated to explore much of Andalucia. It is possible with an early start to take in a days skiing on the Sierra Nevada in the season.

Recently completed is a level raised board walk from La Cala to Puerto Cabopino passing Riviera beach. This allows a excellent opportunity to run, cycle or just amble along and admire the views.

About the Owner

We live in Somerset right in the heart of Taunton but are really country bumpkins at heart. Our two children are both grown up having graduated from university and are now working away from home with only slight boomerang tendencies. Neil used to run a busy veterinary practice in Taunton, but now is taking life easier having sold the business and now working part time as a locum vet or doing voluntary work. Liz used to be the practice secretary and manger but now runs a bed and breakfast guest house from our home. We both enjoy leisurely walking and exploring new places. Liz sings in a local choir, enjoys cooking, sewing belonging to a sewing group. Neil likes to sea fish, has a small motor boat and motor cycles. He has being trying to get beyond "dos cerveza por favor" with his Spanish.

Lovely place to stay.

Stayed for ten days here recently. Lovely lovely apartment with beautiful views from the terrace.

There is the beach near with some bars and restaurants about 20min walk away. There are some lovely places to eat nearby.

The pool area is quiet and well maintained.

Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable and quiet with lovely views!

This delightful apartment one-floor up has a spacious balcony which is just right for sitting out and looking out across the garden to admire the views of the mountains to one side and sea to the other. The complex is quiet and secure with an attractive swimming pool and well-kept grounds. The two bedrooms are a reasonable size and comfortable, one with en-suite. The kitchen is well-equipped and cooking meals is not a problem (Christmas dinner has been cooked here!) There is British TV available by WiFi if the Spanish version gets too much for you. We have stayed several times in different seasons and have always enjoyed ourselves - there is an effective heating and air-conditioning unit.The apartment is kept in good condition and is always clean and tidy, We like to visit Marbella for the old town and Malaga for the theatre, museums and Alcazaba. Day visits to Ronda, Granada and Cordoba are easy and there are lovely walks in the mountains above Marbella and in the Montes de Malaga. An excellent venue for a long weekend or a relaxing couple of weeks.

Amazing holiday

My husband, our best friend and I have spent a lovely week in this immaculate flat. The flat is in a quiet area, away from all the traffic noise, ideal for busy people like us who tried and even managed to relax on their holiday. We had arranged for an airport pick up , which helped us to get there quicker and even to find our a bit more about the area. As soon as we arrived at the flat, we left in love with the view and as the front door of the flat opened in front of us, we've smelt the fresh air coming from the washed linen. The place has everything a home should have: kitchen well organised, TV,washing machine, comfortable beds, books to read and a lovely balcony where one can enjoy the morning coffee or a well deserved glass of Sangria in the evening time. The owner, Neil , was kind enough to provide us important informations about what's going on in the area, including things we might want to see. He even went beyond that and he provided us with weather links ( prior to the holiday). Another important aspect I would like to point out is that inside the flat there are lots of maps and leaflets, we even used a couple of them to get to Gibraltar (1.5h away by car)!

As a conclusion : we loved the place, in fact, we have already booked it again for another week for my parents. We would definitely love coming back here, but, I will make sure of only one thing : stay longer than a week, at least two! xoxo

There is so much more to see and do from the Costa del Sol other than the package holiday stereotype. From the Owner

We liked the climate of the Costa Del Sol, required a base to explore the more rural areas of Spain yet be accessible to a large International Airport with regular budget flights from most of the regional airports in UK. With in a few minutes drive there are several attractive beaches which are relatively uncrowded, many eateries locally for all budgets, good public transport along the cost, with the choice of upmarket Marbella and lively Fuengirola as our local large towns. We like the White Pueblo of Mijas and enjoy drinking a coffee in the bars around the square and up on the terraces looking out to the coast. Further a field but an easy day trip away are the historic cities of Granada, Ronda, Seville and Cordoba. This is our apartment and we only aim to let it enough to cover costs.

Activity and Interests


The local beach is 20 mins walk away where there are bars/cafes, sun loungers and beach umbrellas for rental. By car the quiet beach of La Cala is 8 minutes drive. Further afield is the ‘posh’ Marbella 20 mins brash Torromelenos and Benalmadena 25 mins. Family orientated Fuengirola 15 mins or the naturist beach at Cabo Pinot 10 mins. In Fuengirola there is a Zoo an aqua park and water based activities at the marina.


Malaga airport is 25 mins drive away and Granada 1½ hour’s drive. Car hire or use of car is recommended but there is a regular bus service along the costal road from Fuengirola to Marbella and an express coach service from Marbella to Malaga airport. Taxis are readily available in Riviera. You would need to allow a day to drive from Santander or Bilbao to the apartment.


A short walk away is the Aztek Club which has tennis, crazy golf, gym, beauty parlour, heated swimming pool, internet access, bar and restaurant all modestly priced. Marbella 16km, Fuengirola 12km, Malaga 45 km, Estepona 45km, Gibralter 80km, Ronda 90km, Grnanada 170km, Seville 180km, Cadiz 190km, Cordoba 225km, Madrid 580km. The Sierra Nevada is less than 2 hours drive, there is good walking in The Montes de Malaga, The Sierra Nieves above Marbella both designated National Parks.

Further Details:

All interests and all tastes are catered for on the Costa del Sol. Within the shopping precinct of Riviera there are supermarkets, banks restaurants car hire etc. La Cala provides a more extended choice; there are markets at Fuengirola and Marbella. For retail therapy the La Canada shopping mal in Marbella is the place to go while in Marbella old town there are many specialist boutiques.

Our little apartment is our bolt hole away from day to day pressures of UK life. We love the climate especially from October to May when it can be so cold, damp and depressing in the UK. Our terrace is spacious with good sea views and a great place to relax whether it be eating a leisurely breakfast or having a beer (or cocktail) in the sun. We are just a few steps from the swimming pool and sauna and the whole set up is comfortable and easily managed. Rivierra centre offers all you need for shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment with out the razzmatazz of the bigger resorts along the Costa del Sol. For the Golfers in the family there is a huge choice of courses all close by. We like the gated security of the complex and the mature well kept communal planted areas.

  • Notes on accommodation: Air conditioning is a 'heat pump' system so can also provide heating in cooler months. Outside: Large balcony with sea views, patio chairs, table and clothes airer. The complex is planted and maintained with shrubs and flowers. There is a a large swimming pool directly opposite the apartment on a terrace with whirlpool and sauna adjacent. There are sun loungers and parasols around the pool but please note that it may be closed due to the local bye-laws from September through the winter until early May. The apartment has an allotted space in the garage in the basement of the block, there is limited on street parking on the complex. There is a locked store in the garage with 4 pedal cycles (may need some maintenance etc before use). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: On arrival all bedlinen and towels are provided, except for sofa bed. There is a laundry and cleaning charge of 75 euros at end of your stay. A charge of 25 euros per week in excess of 1 week for laundry. Extra cleaning by arrangement. Other: Also in the apartment are card games, scrabble and Mah-jong. There are some childrens beach toys. Using the Internet and "android box" you may be able to stream live UK television.
