Apartment in Paco d'Arcos, Nr. Estoril / Cascais, Lisbon Coast - Lovely Setting, 8 Mins Walk From Local Beaches, 15 Mins Train To Downtown Lisbon

Situated in the historical fishing village of Paço d’Arcos: this delightful flat is located at the point where the River Tagus meets the Atlantic Ocean and has panoramic views to Lisbon and along the west coast line to Oeiras. It is a 5 mins walk to the centre of the historic village. All main shopping facilities are within close walking distance and with a main line train station only minutes away, there is no need for car rental. Living room and bedrooms are sea facing and sunny with 2 terraces. This modern, excellently equipped flat is ideal for those looking for something a little more special. The main double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Next door is the second bedroom with two single beds. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. This is a great base for a small family or 2 couple looking for sun & beach holiday. Its great links to Lisbon and Cascais make it ideal for anyone wanting to add a little cultural substance to their beach holiday.

About the Owner

I am a research student spending a lot of time abroad. I love to travel, to meet people from different places and to know their life stories. When I travel I try to know how they live and travel so I take the local buses and trains. I eat in the markets and in the streets so I can mingle with people to witness how they manage their daily life. I have a special preference for Africa.

My flat is my retreat, where I return after my journeys to reflect and assimilate what I experience outside and to rebalance my inner-straight. I tried to make it the most comfortable and well equipped. The micro climate of Lisbon coast, where my flat is located, allow me to walk and run by the beach all year round.

'Hi, Thank you so much. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Your directions were fine. It only took us about 20 minutes returning to the airport on Saturday. Your apartment is very elegant and sophisticated. It was far beyond our expectations. We loved everything about it, the books, the art, the music, your wonderfully equipped kitchen. My fondest memories are relaxing over a gin and tonic in the evening listening to Jose Alfonse- and the view of the sea, red roofs and blue skies from the bedroom balcony in the morning . It was great to have the public transport system at our doorstep. We had to make a number of visits to the archaeological museum in Belém and the train was very efficient. Sorry you had to miss the festival. We danced, listen to a night of fado music and eat really well.

No room for improvement. It was brilliant and we will tell all our friends to go to Paço de Arcos. Thanks again to Filipa and you. All the very best' Geraldine

The nearest beach is 500m from the apartment; other beaches on the Paço de Arcos/Carcavelos coast are within easy walking distance. Also two swimming pools located nearby (Piscina Oceânica and Inatel). A 30 mins drive away is the wonderful Guincho coastline, with sandy beaches and rocky coves.


Above the sea front linking Lisbon and Cascais the property is easily accessed, by road and public transport. Lisbon Airport is approximately 12km away (taxi station on back of flat, in front Satuoeiras). Car is not necessary as the train station is less than 5 mins walk away. The train takes you either into Lisbon (15 mins) or Cascais (20 mins), in modern air conditioned trains. Public transport is so convenient that it can provide a reliable and inexpensive option for a car free holiday.


Cascais, a sophisticated seaside resort, is just 20 minutes from Paço de Arcos, while Sintra, a world heritage site, is about 40 minutes.

Further Details:

Choice of several good local restaurants, bakery, cafes, supermarket (beside fire station) and a small local food market within walking distance. In front of flat there is also transport (Satuoeiras) to Oeiras Shopping Centre (3 mins). Internet access is available in the village main street. Sorry but pets not allowed.
