Casa da Cova is an individually designed secluded villa, within a short driving distance of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo. Conveniently placed for the famous beaches and shops and golf courses of the area, the villa is set in its own walled garden offering complete privacy with a large pool, a tennis court and extensive gardens. An ideal family villa that is also suitable for the disabled and is wheel chair friendly. Other amenities in the local area include an equestrian centre, a golf driving range and a good choice of tennis facilities including two professional coaching centres. There are several routes to the beach but the most memorable is across a long wooden bridge across the nature reserve: on the other side is a good restaurant, golden dunes and a very long beach.

I live in England with my husband, dog and blind cat!! We both love to travel and now that we have retired we hope to find more time to enjoy Casa da Cova. We like the relaxed nature of both Florida and Portugal where we have made many friends and have really fallen in love with both countries. Villa with everything!

We had a wonderful week in this spacious villa. Two families, with four children enjoyed the wonderful large heated pool, many tennis and table tennis matches! The garden is huge, with plenty of space for children to play football or just to run around. The outlook onto the garden/pool/tennis court is magnificent and the villa is secluded and so noise is not an issue!

The villa is well equipped with a large kitchen and a barbecue area, dining on the large outdoor table in the evenings by the pool was fabulous!

Close by is the lovely Ancao beach and Almancil and Loule handy for shopping.

I fell in love with the garden and the added bonus of a tennis court. Total privacy in a rural location but less than a mile to Quinta shopping and a mile to Almancil. The space in the villa was an added extra!!

Activity and Interests


Quinta do Lago is a spectacular unspoiled area of over 1700 acres of natural pine forest, grassland and lakes. The area includes part of the Ria Formosa nature reserve and is fronted by a 10km stretch of golden sands. There are several routes to the beach but the most memorable is across a long wooden bridge across the nature reserve: on the other side is a good restaurant, golden dunes and a very long beach. The beaches of the area are a 5 minute drive from the villa.


The local airport is Faro. The drive time from the airport is approx 12 minutes. A hire car is recommended.


Almancil 3km, beach 5km, Quinta do Lago 2km, Bouganvilea Plaza 1km (shops and restaurants) Loule 5 km.

  • Notes on accommodation: This villa is suitable for two families sharing and is on ground level with easy access to the pool and the gardens. There is an additional charge for air-con or pool heating if used. Internet access is available through a Vodaphone dongle if required. Outside: The pool patio area has 8 sunbeds and outdoor dining area. There is a large seperate BBQ area and seating to the side of the house. The swimming pool is approx 11 x 5 metre and is in the sun all day and is for the sole use for the villa. There is also a private tennis court and table tennis. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bathroom towels and bed linen included and changed once a week. We do not provide beach towels
