Guestbook comments from the owner

We are now back in Sweden after a very hot week in Crete! We had a lovely time and your house was superb! Good standard and very beautiful.

We both wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for a truly wonderful stay at Villa Tamos – it is a real Cretan Paradise – a fantastic spotlessly clean and well equipped villa, breathtaking views, a superb pool and wonderful grounds - what more could we ask for? We had the greatest of difficulty tearing ourselves away - in fact we only left the villa twice during our seven day stay.

We arrived back from Crete yesterday evening after a wonderful holiday at your villa. It really is in an idyllic location and we spent many a happy hour sat outside looking at the mountains or across Souda Bay or just admiring the array of flowers in the garden. We could smell the lavendar while we were swimming and I think I found thyme in one of the other flower beds. The views from the upstairs balcony of the sea and the mountains are breathtaking.

Amazing views & pool

  • 5 of 5

Lovely villa, very clean and well equipped. Amazing mountain and sea views. Lovely large pool in very private garden. Nice quiet location. Lots of nice tavernas near by serving traditional Cretian cuisine. Lovely beach with shallow water so great for children, also good snorkelling near the rocks.

Lovely Villa Tamos!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Villa Tamos, the house was very clean and thanks for the welcome package with a bottle of cold water when we just arrived. The place is amazing, romantic and relaxing. You have the mountain view and the ocean view with sunset if you wish.

Pool was perfect and even better that we had the shower next to the pool, very convenient. We had no problem to manage the summer heat, due to the location of the house and the cool breeze – the house is up in the mountain approx 100 m above sea level. Thanks to the fact that every window and door has mosquito nets we could leave them open all the time.

Thanks Lorraine and the family for letting us share the joy of staying at Villa Tamos.

On top of the world!

  • 4 of 5

2nd visit over past 3 years and probably not the last.

Villa cleanly presented with all amenities.

Stunning private location with 360 degree views as far as you can see.

Great well maintained pool and large patios always in the sun.

Plenty of great value tavernas nearby - no need to cook.

Simple Greek magic.

Wonderful place in splendid Crete

  • 4 of 5

Staying at Villa Tamos was a wonderful experience. Splendid villa, well equipped, beautiful swimming pool with stunning views everywhere (see, mountains, woods...). We really enjoyed our 3 and a half weeks' stay here. Lots of variation and possibilities: relaxing, reading, exploring the area, nature, seaside, mountains, walks, minoan culture, city, countryside,... The sound of silence, of sheep, of barking dogs,... the views of the blue sea, the white mountains, the green hills and the dusty roads... The helpful people around the house, the open and spontaneous Cretans,... It was a holiday to remember for ever.

Fabulous place to stay, highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Villa Tamos for two wonderful weeks. The Villa was a fantastic place to stay and relax, we had lots of room to spread out, it is very well maintained and very clean. It was everything we hoped it would be. We loved the view across to the White Mountains and enjoyed evenings on the balcony looking across Souda Bay and seeing the lights and nightime activity. Almyrida is a lovely village, you can get everything you need there and there are lots of wonderful restaurants to choose from, we were spoilt for choice! There are also wonderful restaurants in the nearby villages which we also visited. We joined Captain Nick in Chania on his glass bottomed boat - we all loved this and got some fabulous underwater photographs of us snorkelling. We drove over to the other side of Crete and loved the scenery. Visited Elafonisi beach and Balos - amazing water. Sad to leave, but will definitely plan to return - highly recommend this as a holiday destination.

Location

From the Owner

This area is stunningly beautiful. Every view is a photo opportunity. The peace and tranquility of the place and the laid back life style just instantly relax me. The people are so warm and welcoming. I love that the shops close on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays, so that they can spend time with family. The food is a revelation and I always return home promising to have to be extra good after over indulging!

The view speaks for itself. It took our breath away and we just love it. We love that we have the peace and quiet and privacy of our own place in the sun, but within a couple of minutes can be down at the beach with some wonderful tavernas.
