We had a dreadful trip down there, the traffic through Lyon was horrendous but once we got there we realised it was worth it. You really have a lovely place and the family evenings spent on the terrace will be long remembered.

Great property but left disappointed

St Endreol is a golf resort and potential visitors should not think that there is much more on offer than the golf amenities and a swimming pool. The house itself is lovely. A really high standard and spacious. However, we were left disappointed. The Barbecue did not work so we had no barbecue for the 2 weeks. For me, when a barbecue is advertised then there should be one. There was a new gas barbecue which leaked gas, and then caught fire after an unqualified caretaker took a look. The owner responded to texts about the situation but did not check back that it had been resolved. Given the cost of the property and the resort and then high expectations this was simply not good enough. The property has 'internet' listed but it does NOT have broadband. It is a wifi dongle with 0.1 meg. You will not be surfing the net and uploading images to Facebook on this internet service. We just had to use our phone data as it was quicker. The wider amenities of the resort are those of a golf complex. There is one bar and restaurant. Le Muy has a couple of restaurants. The complex is immaculately kept and the pool is great for kids. So all in all, its in a fabulous location to explore the Var region and the property is a high spec townhouse but we were left disappointed when the facilities listed were not delivered.

Great holiday

We had a great holiday in September 2013, the house was clean, well equipped and photos were accurate. Excellent facilities (right down to the travel potty!) for those with babies and toddlers, but all stored away so those without wouldn't know it was all there. The site was quiet during our stay, lovely walks within the complex, the pool is 4 houses away and very clean. You can collect fresh bread, croissants etc. from the visiting bakery in the summer month early mornings, or wander up to the clubhouse for a drink or snack, visit the restaurant for something more substantial, and of course the golf course and spa is there too.

Great beaches are 20-30 minutes drive away, and fab day trips to St Tropez, Cannes, Port Grimaud etc. Plenty of Chateau's to visit nearby too.

There is a smallish supermarket 5 minutes drive away in Le Muy as is the local market, which is open on Thursday and Sunday mornings. If you arrive on a Saturday, we recommend buying your fruit, veg, cheese, bread, meats etc. from the market; great choice, local produce and cheaper than the hypermarket, which is about 15/20 minutes away.

Very helpful owners, happy to answer questions, we've just booked for next year and can't wait!

We just love the South of France! The weather, the food, the wine, the people, the language, the activities and it's beauty. I could go on but it would take forever.

The beauty of St. Endreol is that it is only 20 mins drive from the French Riveria resorts of Frejus and St. Maxime. In both there are wonderful public and private beaches with a vast array of watersports, bars and restaurants. From St. Maxime a waterbus runs across to St.Tropez (10 mins).


Nice Airport - 45 mins.

Toulon - 1hr.

Car hire is recommended.


La Motte - 3 mins drive.

Le Muy - 3 mins drive.

St.Maxime - 20 mins drive.

St.Tropez - 40 mins drive and waterbus.

Where do we start the area has so much to see and do! On site there is golf, swimming, health spa, jogging trails etc... and then a few minutes drive there are 2 lovely villages, La Motte and Le Muy, which has the most amazing food markets on Thursdays and Sundays. Le Muy also has a shopping centre with a large Casino supermarket. Around St. Endreol there are many chateaux where you can sample fantastic local wines and usually a bite to eat.

The most stunning natural feature of the Cote d'Azur is known as the Massif de l'Esterel, a red porphyry rock covered in pine, oak and eucalyptus trees, that can be seen from the house terrace. There are many walks you can take through the hills but a good map is recommended for the more difficult trails. We also see many keen road cyclists around St.Endreol the roads are fantastic and the weather great all year round. There is also a canoeing centre just outside of La Motte.

Heading through the Massif and towards the coast you reach St.Maxime or Frejus/St.Raphael. These are beachside resort towns with public beaches and great beach clubs. St.Maxime has an outdoor water park (open June- September) on its outskirts and St.Raphael is a leading diving centre thanks to the WWII shipwrecks of the coast. Regular daily boats run from the towns to a variety of places but the must see is St.Tropez and Port Grimaud.

There are so many beaches to choose from along the coast (40km) I couldn't begin to list them but a drive or walk along the coastal road of the Corniche de l'Esterel is not to be missed as the views are spectacular and along the way you will find small resorts and inlets where you can swim. In summer when this road gets very crowded, choose the inland N7, which runs through the hills to some beautiful towns and villages along the way.

Frejus is known for its famous Roman ruins.

  • Notes on accommodation: We have a ten and eleven year old so the house is child friendly and well equipped for babies and toddlers with a hand blender, steriliser, cutlery, baby bath chair, changing mat, potty, cotbed, toys and stairgate etc. Outside: Terrace and landscaped small garden - double doors from the lounge lead onto a covered terrace with table and chairs, sunbeds and barbecue. Terrace 2 - double doors from the master bedroom and bedroom 2 lead onto the first floor terrace with table and chairs. Terrace 3 - small west facing terrace with views over the pool and pine forests with table and chairs for end of day drinks. Garage underneath the house. Shared pool (open 1 May - 31 October) and baby pool with changing facilities and sun loungers. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. Not beach towels. Property is cleaned on changeover day but if you wish an extra clean during your stay, this can be arranged but will be charged for.
