Apartment in Porto de Mos, Lagos, Portugal - Peaceful Location, 5 Minutes Walk To A Fantastic Beach

Casa Chris is a 1 bedroom apartment situated on the third floor of a very quiet condominium. There is ample parking in front of the building and guests can use the pool. The apartment has a very large, private south facing balcony with fantastic sea views which overlooks the beach, and is equipped with loungers and patio furniture. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach where there are two very good beach bars/restaurants open during the day and evening. There are also local restaurants and a small supermarket 10 minutes walk from the apartment.The apartment is convenient for Lagos Town centre which has a beautiful marina. At night in the high season, the town comes alive with street entertainers, open-air stalls and artists with bars, restaurants and nightclubs staying open until late. There are many golf courses within a short travelling distance, the nearest being the Boa Vista which is a 5 minute car drive from the apartment. You can find many fine beaches around Lagos and a short drive to the West Coast provides spectacular beaches for relaxing or surfing.

This is such a beautiful location. Apartment so clean. The saying : It does what it says on the tin ~. is a perfect way to describe this property. The bus stop is just in view beside the beach, which takes you to Lagos and beyond. My husband and I will certainly want to make a return visit. A Walsh Belfast

Excellent accommodation

This property provided everything specified and was an excellent place to stay.

Great views, 5 mins walk to a lovely beach with cliff views also.

Lagos town center was a 30 minute walk or about 4-6 euro's taxi which is fair.

Definitely a place worth staying.

Quiet location, sea views !

Spotlessly clean apartment on the top floor of an apartment block with great views of the sea and beach... 250m away (down hill) .

Beach was excellent.... safe (life guards on duty), clean, clear water and lovely soft sand with rocks at either end of the beach, and cliffs backing it. Two beach bars/restaurants.

The apartment had a large well equipped balcony, furnished with table, chairs, sun umbrella and sun loungers enough for four people and a washing line. This overlooked the sea and beach with sun on the balcony for most of the day.

The apartment itself was also well equipped with everything you should need for a week or two. The furnishings were of a very high quality with a very comfortable large bed.

The apartment block was very quiet, with the very occasional sound of next doors doorbell or someone passing in the corridor.

Plenty of parking. Ideal base for touring (as we did) and also ok for holidaymakers without a car. There is a small supermarket not far away and two large ones if you have a car.

The walk too and from the beach is quite steep, so not for the less fit.

The only downside is that the building itself is a little tired (not the apartment) and the empty restaurant on the ground floor, but this did not detract from the enjoyment of the holiday and the apartment.... a great place to stay for some peace and quiet !

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The Porto de Mos beach is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and this is a long, sandy beach which offers jet skis, canoes, pedaloes and banana boat rides in the high season. There are many more delightful beaches a short distance away, the longest being the Meia Praia beach which is a 10 minute car drive away.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Faro and this takes about 50 mins on the motorway. There is also a regular train and bus service which runs along the length of the Algarve. A car is not essential as taxis to and from Lagos town are very cheap but we do recommend a car for exploring this lovely area.

Distances:

Lagos town centre is under 5 mins by car (approx 25 min walk), Luz Bay is 10 minutes by car. Cape St Vincent, the furthest point west in Europe is 20 km away and there is a waterpark named 'The Big One' 25 mins along the motorway.

Further Details:

There is a small supermarket 10 mins walk from the apartment, and a further 3 large supermarkets scattered about the town. There are many restaurants in Lagos which offer a wide range of foods with locally caught fresh fish a speciality, and there are some lively bars which close when the last customer goes home.

The area offers some good coastal walks, a riding school is located a 10 mins drive from Lagos and bikes may be hired from the town. There are plenty of watersports on offer in the area as well as dolphin seafaris and fishing trips.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is a lift access to all floors. There is also free wi-fi in the reception area. Outside: The large south facing balcony gives a superb sea view. It is equipped with two sun-loungers, table, chairs and sun umbrella. The sun is on the balcony from about 8.30 in the morning until about 6 in the evening, and if you are lucky, you may see some passing dolphins whilst looking out to sea. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed at the end of a seven day period. Other: The south facing balcony is equipped with sun loungers and table and chairs. It has lovely views over the beach and sea where you might be lucky to spy some passing dolphins.
