Gaynor & Martin were perfect hosts, there but not there, very friendly & always help if needed, very peaceful, relaxing gardens, beautiful pool , clean & well appointed accommodation, stunning views , couldn't ask for more !
Had every intention of driving to Malaga etc but couldn't be bothered such was the allure of La Loma , defiantly returning as soon as we can.
If one seeks peace, solitude in stunning surroundings La Loma is that place!
Where to begin? Even though I had seen the pictures on the internet my jaw dropped when I saw the view as I got out of the car.Martin was there to greet us with cake and cool drinks (Gaynor was away) and he was a perfect host through our short stay. He was friendly and helpful and made us feel very at home. Although their house is next door he was very unobtrusive was was there when you needed him! there was a comprehensive welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, bacon, eggs, fruit juice, water and a lovely bottle of wine. He also offered to shop for us at no extra cost other than cost of groceries so on our first day after getting up at 2.15 am for an early flight all we had to do was put our swim gear on and head to the pristine pool and contemplate the amazing view and in the evening eat on the terrace. The property was spotless, well equipped and very tastefully decorated. The landscaping is particularly lovely with lots of lowering shrubs. It was so peaceful and tranquil. It is very much in the countryside - Iznejar is a 20 minute drive - the supermarket here is a bit basic but there is another 30 minutes away in another town. There is a very comprehensive information folder in the casita (we were in the 1 bed one - perfect for a couple) and Martin was very helpful about places to visit. However it was so gorgeous there that in our 4 day stay we had only one day trip to the Mesquita in Cordoba and we spent most of the time relaxing at La Loma with a visit to the beach bar at Iznejar in the evening. It is definitely up there on our list of 'special places' and we would love to return.
Our stay at La Loma was all we could have hoped for and more. The accommodations were clean and attractive. Our hosts, Gaynor and Martin, were a delight and were there when needed, for directions for example, and it also felt like we were enjoying the magic of the site alone, too. La Loma was a labor of love and you can feel it. I would be happy to make a return visit and recommend it highly, for anyone wanting absolute tranquility in the beautiful countryside.
