Our apartment at Vale do Lobo is situated over 3 floors, right next to the beach, Praca and pools. It has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining area, 2 double sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a south facing sea views on to the Ocean. It has a good sized balcony for dining or just sitting with a glass and a book, and a roof top sun terrace. Convenient for the restaurants and facilities at the Praca, and the Vale do Lobo Royal and Ocean golf courses. Golf discounts available at most local clubs.

About the Owner

We are a family of four and took the decision to buy in Vale do Lobo over 13 years ago, having visited the Algarve for many years (with a golfer in the family, an obvious destination!) and Vale do Lobo itself a couple of times. Our apartment is very much a home from home, fully equipped with everything we need whilst away. Its close proximity to the beach and the Praca, has been a godsend for us with growing children.

The children love it here and have made some great holiday companions over the years (as have we!) All our holidays are spent here, as the beaches, sunshine, golf and great food and wine are all available and all a family need for a great holiday..

Thanks for a great stay! Location of the apartment is excellent, being only 100 yards fromt the beach and restaurants. Everything from start to finish was first class and would certainly look to return soon!

The beaches, the resort itself offering good management, security, and everything on site, should you choose not to venture out - although we would thoroughly recommend visiting the beautiful surrounding countryside, beaches and local restaurants.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Alternatively I can arrange court times in the Tennis Valley (14 flood lit courts) of VdL. There are professionals on hand to help you improve any aspect of your game, regular lessons can be arranged (fee payable). There is good bird watching options in the Ria Formosa with covered areas for watchers (or are you twitchers?) This is about 10 minutes drive away. The inlets and lagoons of the Ria Formosa are well worth a day trip on a boat. The sand dunes from Vale do Lobo back towards Faro are fabulous for wildlife spotting. From Vale do Lobo you could (if you felt energetic) actually walk for over 20 miles of beach there are some fabulous cliff walks past Vilamoura.


Less than 1 minute's walk to the main beach area at Vale do Lobo, a safe, clean, 'Blue flag' beach for families. There are sunloungers for hire and beach bars for drinks and snacks.


It costs approx 30 euros from Faro airport to Vale do Lobo in a public taxi. The resort is well serviced by restaurants, bars and a small supermarket. If you wish to travel around the Algarve to visit the many other Portuguese restaurants, beaches and attractions (such as aquashow etc.) car rental is advised although taxis are reasonable and easily booked.


Faro town is a 15 minute drive there is a large shopping centre that offers good facilties. Most tours offer a pickup/dropoff bus service from VdL to the attractions. Options include horse riding, fishing, yachting/sailing, shark, dolphin watching, 4x4 safari tours & Cultural visits. There is also an Aqua Park and a Swim With Dolphin experience (30 mins drive). In the apartment is a well stocked folder with all the details of the attractions so you can read at leisure and book your choices.

Further Details:

Vale Do Lobo has a supermarket, off licence, cash point and Medical Centre, It is a 10 minute walk to the Tennis Academy or you can catch the free circuit bus if you buy a courtesy card at the Golf reception. This will also give you discount on restaurants, pools, bars and golf on the resort. The Praca, which is the nightlife/beach front area of Vale do Lobo, is a 1 minute walk away - the Kangaroo Children's Club is here and Vale do Lobo Beach. At the Praca there are numerous restaurants, bars, cafe, newsagent, real estate agent and a night club. Free live entertainment nightly during summer. Parque Do Golfe which is the Reception for the Royal and Ocean golf courses is a 5 min stroll from the apartment. Here are also many shops including beauty centre, a most wonderful health spa (can vouch from experience), hairdresser, cash point, Hertz, post box and newsagent selling daily English newspapers and magazines also a cafe and a bar. About 3/4 mile down the main road into Vale Do Lobo are another good selection of restaurants including the Sao Gabriel - a Michelin star restaurant and the Thai Garden restaurant also highly recommended. The Quinta da Lago Shopping Centre is about 2 miles down the road, here there are many exclusive designers shops and some lovely restaurants/cafes. There is also a Italian restaurant that delivers pizza and pasta (and a bottle of wine) to the apartment, the menu is in the folder, for those nights that you just can't be bothered to cook.

Booking Notes:
A securing deposit must be paid on time of booking. This is 50% of the total booking cost. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £200 is payable before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after departure if the property has been left in an appropriate condition. Sorry this property is not available for groups of young adults.

Changeover Day:
Flexible but would prefer Saturday in Peak Season.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
The Easter break for 2015, 27th March - 13th April will be charged at £550 per week
Pro-rata rates are also available for long weekends if available.
Payments can also be received in Euros.
Discounts for late bookings and long winter lets.

From the Owner

Our property is appealing mainly because it has the advantage of being at the front, so is within a 2 min walk of the beach and all the amenities. Vale do Lobo is a fantastic resort, but some of the properties are 20 mins walk to the beach, which on a hot sunny day, can be a bit daunting. With our property, we are up and out and on the beach/by the pool within 2-3 mins! A definite advantage when you have small children to co-ordinate! Location, Location, Location!!
