Villa in Sitio do Quartos, between Almancil & Loule, Central Algarve, Portugal - Countryside Location With Uninterrupted Views Of The Sea And Easy Access To Favoured Resorts

Casa Alta Vista is perfect for 3 generation families. It comprises 3 storeys, the lower being self-contained with its own kitchen, eating and sleeping facilities, yet still part of the house. If the kids or grandparents want some space it’s all sorted! The house has 5 bedrooms in total, 3 en-suite, a large, airy lounge/dining room with stunning views to the sea and a spacious kitchen to the front. Sited centrally on a large plot surrounded by gardens the house has a terraced pool, ample shaded and unshaded areas throughout the day and everything you should need for your holiday. The property is fully fenced and accessed through a security gate. Located within the infamous ‘Golden Triangle’, south of Loulé the villa is a 20 minute drive from Faro airport and the favoured resorts of Vale Do Lobo, Quinta Do Lago, Vilamoura. It is situated in Sitio do Quartos close to Loulé which offers superb examples of traditional houses, craftsmen at work and reasonably priced traditional food.

Very comfortable, clean and well maintained villa.

This is a very well maintained and well equipped villa. The listing description is accurate and the property is convenient to Faro airport, but is still in a quiet and unspoilt location. There are some very smart restaurants nearby and the town of Loule is close, with two hypermarkets. We had a marvellous holiday. Thank you Jill!

Amazing holiday in this beautiful villa

A beautiful well maintained Villa with safe areas for children to play in the enclosed garden. Even with a party of 11 ranging in age from 2 to 79 there is plenty of space and always somewhere to escape for some and quiet in either sun or shade and admire the wonderful views. The Villa is so well equipped with everything that you could need it really feels like a home from home and even has toys to occupy the children. Almancil is easy to reach with lots of shops and supermarket, and the helpful information fom Jill the owner was invaluable. We didn't want to come home and 10 days went far too quickly.

A real home from home

We have stayed at Casa Alta Vista four or five times now for family holidays and it has never been a let-down. The villa istelf is superbly equipped, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It has plenty of room, which is imperative for larger parties like ours (eight adults and three children). Everyone can find a piece of "me" space when needed. The pool is fantastic (it had been refurbished shortly before our last stay), the garden is well-maintained and the location secure and private but not isolated. We will definitely rent again - if Jill will let us!

Superbly equipped villa

Having stayed at this very lovely property on several occasions, we can only echo the other comments . We are a small family but due to its excellent layout it feels much cosier than many large properties and it is suberbly equipped. As a very cold person the heated pool and bathroom heater make a massive difference to my comfort levels ! Ultimately though the outstanding feature of this villa is the view, and that everything is dealt with so efficiently and effectively by Jill. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Halcyon Days

We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing break in this very well-kept, attractive villa. It was spotless on arrival and well cleaned throughout our stay. The owners were very approachable and helpful from beginning to end and made us feel completely welcome. The location is ideal if one is keen not to be overlooked or disturbed by either locals or other holiday makers. There was a variety of very good shopping facilities in nearby villages, and an excellent range of accessible and interesting activities for all age groups. The maintenance team was prompt, friendly and efficient; no query was considered too trivial. A very pleasant, memorable holiday...we will, most assuredly, return.

Mindful that others might book

We have been booking this fabulous villa yearly for the last 8 years and know the region well having previously driven down every summer in a vw camper van! We really enjoy the secluded location and lay out of the villa especially the sense of space it allows for large party's. The owners are easily contactable as are the people who manage the villa.

The pool and outside areas are just sublime.

We don't wish to rave about it too much as we are going to continue to book yearly!

We have already booked for next year!

As you will note from the above we can only highly recommend casa alta vista but please don't tell too many people!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro at 15 Kilometres Car: recommended


Driving time to the beaches of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago is approx. 15 minutes. To the east, Tavira is only 45 minutes away, and to the west Albufeira, 20 minutes. All of the beaches close to the villa are Blue Flag accredited and are amongst the cleanest in Europe.


The villa is 20 minutes from the international airport of Faro.

Car hire is recommended and can be arranged for guests.


The villa is 10 minutes walk from Vale D'Eguas a small village with two good restaurants. The area North of Almancil and around Vale Formosa (5 minutes drive) house some of the most reputable restaurants of Central Algarve. Loulé (10 minutes drive) offers superb examples of traditional houses, craftsmen at work making harnesses, copper pots and baskets, restaurants serving reasonably priced local cuisine and an excellent Municipal Market selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish.

Further Details:

Almancil (10 minutes drive) has several good restaurants, cafes and bars. It has a bank, post office, large supermarkets and several pharmacies. There is also an English speaking medical centre 10 minutes walk from the house.

Pool heating is charged at £200 sterling per week. All rooms have electric fans, mostly ceiling mounted. Wireless internet facility. Central heating is charged at £100 sterling per week. Smokers are asked not to smoke in the rooms. Outside: There is a large pool terrace area with sun loungers, a barbeques and dining furniture. Part of the terrace area offers shade throughout the day. The pool is 10x5m; 1m at shallow end, 3 metres at deep end There is a furnished terrace running the length of 2 sides of the house looking out onto the panoramic view. Visits by property manager and maid during your stay. Other: Two bbqs on two separate terraces; one with own sink facilities. Both bbqs have outdoor dining table and chairs.
