Family bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The apartment has air conditioning/heating. All rooms lead onto a large private terrace with access to the beautiful swimming pool, exclusive to our block, as well as gardens and BBQs. There are 2 secure underground parking spaces with lift and video entry system. There are shops, cafes and restaurants within and around the complex. 5 min from the prestigious Alto golf course and close to the town, shops and the best beaches in the Algarve. Ideal for families with small children as all rooms lead out to the large secure terrace with outside lighting and gate, which has a table, chairs, and sun loungers. There is a children’s play area close by.

About the Owner

Hello, we are Liz & Ian and we have 2 small boys who keep us on our toes. We have owned this apartment for 5 years and really love it there! We bought it to keep our roots in Portugal as Liz's parents are Portuguese. We had never been to Alvor before but we fell in love with it and knew it was where we wanted to be. Liz works from home in Hertfordshire running her own beauty therapy business and Ian works for BT. We like to come out as often as we can, to relax and soak up the sun. The kids live in the pool and so it's great to be able to enjoy a cold glass of something whilst watching them from the terrace. Bliss! Our aim is to make sure that you feel at home in our apartment and have a fantastic holiday, and of course want to return!

"Beautiful Apartment - Everything you could need!"

Large ground floor apartment with outdoor terrace area overlooking lovely spacious pool area. Apartment is decorated to a very high standard and is fully equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The apartment is located approx. 25 mins walk to the centre of Alvor and the same to the beach. There are a couple of cafes/restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries within a few minutes walk from the apartment, and then lots more in Alvor centre. The booking process was really easy and Liz sent us lots of information and recommendations for our stay. There was also a really helpful handbook in the apartment showing where everything is located and how to use all the showers, boiler etc... The apartment block is very quiet and we had the pool area to ourselves most days. I most definitely would book in this apartment again on returning to Alvor and will be recommending it to all my friends and family.

"Great Apartment"

We've stayed in a lots of different holiday accommodation over the last number of years and this was definitely one of the best. The apartment was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Liz & Ian really have thought of everything! The complex was very well kept and very quiet. There seem to be quite a few families living there. The pool was lovely and it was great having direct access to it from the terrace. We used the BBQ on a couple of evenings when we didn't feel like going out. There is a really good bakery and a few good restaurants within walking distance. The town of Alvor is about a 30 minute walk. There are no footpaths for some of the walk so beware if you have a buggy or difficulties walking etc! However, a taxi only costs about €6. Liz & Ian were great to deal with. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this apartment!

"Excellent Apartment"

This was one of the best apartments I have ever stayed in. It was ground floor and had a lovely big patio with table and chairs and sun loungers. And a gate which led out to the pool area. It had everything, dishwasher, washing machine, sky tv, 2 very large bedrooms with sliderobes, 2 bathrooms, large lounge. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to stay in.

"Another carefree Holiday at Liz and Iain,s apartment."

This is the second time we have stayed in the apartment and it still maintains a very high standard. Liz and Iain do their best to ensure you feel welcome and ensure that you have everything available to allow you to relax and enjoy their apartment and the surrounding area. From arrival to departure you feel completely at home as they have thought of everything to guarantee your stay is trouble free and enjoyable. I hope to return at some point and would not hesitate to recommend , especially for families .

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The best beaches of the Algarve are easily accessible. Praia do Vau famed for the Iodine rich healing properties of its waters is a 5 min drive or 20 - 30 min pleasant walk. Alvor beach is also close by and is a beautiful long sandy beach so will never be crowded even in Summer and is life guarded. The famous Praia da Rocha is also nearby, 10 mins by car. All beaches are well maintained, most have beach front restaurants, cafes, toilet facilities, sunbeds/parasols for hire and water sports.

Travel:

Faro airport is 45 mins away, with daily flights from all over Europe. Car hire is not essential, but recommended as there is so much to explore in the Region. Car hire and transfers easily available from airport. We recommend that you book these in advance. For car hire we suggest HolidayAutos Or Zit Auto.

Distances:

Within 5 mins walk are 4 restaurants, 3 cafés, mini market, paper shop and hair salon. The town centre of Alvor is a 20-30 min walk away or 5 min drive. Alvor is a quaint fishing village, but boasts a great selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops to suit all ages and tastes. A taxi into town will cost approx 3.9 Euros (£3.50). Slide and Splash Water Park is 15km away and Zoo Marine is 20km. There is a bus service into town every 15 mins costing approx €1 each.

No smoking or pets allowed. Families welcome as apartment is very child friendly. We regret that due to the policy of the complex we cannot accept bookings from single sex groups of 3 or more people (under 25 year old). Our aim is for you to have the best possible holiday staying at our apartment and all we ask is that you respect our home and our neighbours and leave our home in the same condition that you found it in. We also welcome any feedback good or bad.

Booking Notes:
The apartment is available all year round due to the great weather. A deposit of £100 payable by bank transfer or cheque will secure your reservation and the balance is required 8 weeks prior to arrival. On payment of balance we also require a £200 refundable damage deposit which will be returned to you upon your return home after inspection and inventory checks and once we receive the keys back. Our English speaking rep will be available throughout your visit for any assistance you may need.

Flexible changeover day and any length of stay considered.

Notes on prices:
An additional £20 per stay is chargeable if more than 4 people are staying, to cover extra laundry costs. This does not apply to babies using our cot as guests own linen to be supplied.
Nightly prices (where shown) are per person, per week, based on 6 people sharing.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is ideal for any time of year with air-conditioning that also provides heating when required. We have provided each bedroom and the sitting room with these heating units. We have Cable TV enabling you to watch some English TV channels plus many other channels such as Nickleodeon. The apartment is also particularly suitable for families with young children with its large secure enclosed terrace with access to the pool via a secure gate, pool view and play area. Cot (travel) and high chair available at no extra cost (easy buggy and wheelchair access). If you have a large party or want to come away with friends who wish to stay on the same complex, we have neighbours who rent out their apartment too, so please ask for details.** WI-FI New for 2014.
