Top 2nd floor Apartment overlooking Cala D'Or Marina, south east Mallorca

This property is in a modern, low-rise complex ideally located between Cala D'Or and Cala Llonga. It has magnificent views overlooking the marina, which is a short stroll away, with it's splendid yacht club, bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. There is a 360 degree view from our private roof terrace of the coast and sea beyond, countryside and hills inland. The vibrant centre of Cala D'Or is about a 10-15 min walk away as are the lovely beaches nearby. The apartment is on the top (2nd floor) with lift access suitable for wheelchair users. It has a fully fitted kitchen, utility area, ample living and dining space, large balcony and very large private roof/sun terrace. Furnished to a high standard with quality fittings and furniture, it is air-conditioned throughout and wifi is available. It offers comfort, convenience, privacy and security. In this gated development, the large residents pool has a shallow area for children and is set within attractive communal gardens. Secure parking. If you do not have a car, the road train stops close by the complex and calls at all the major beaches in the region and taxis are plentiful. Master bedroom with double bed, large fitted wardrobe, bedside cabinets and ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, bidet,wc, wash basin and large mirror. There is direct access to the balcony. Bedroom 2 compises 2 single beds, fitted wardrobe, bedside cabinet, shelving and mirror and is adjacent to walk-in shower room with wash basin, mirror and wc.The apartment is ideal for a family or 2 couples. A folding cot and high chair are provided for a baby or infant.

We are a married, semi retired couple, living in the UK with grown up sons and have spent several holidays (and business trips) to Mallorca. When we had the leisure time to enjoy a holiday home we researched the market and decided Cala D,or and El Puerto 1 best achieved our criteria and budget and we haven't regretted it!

Why Valerie & Brian Martin chose Migjorn Region

I had spent several years involved with the marine leisure boat industry, which included visiting the Palma Boat Show where I had English clients with Boat Sales operations based in Cala D'or Marina. I visited the area frequently at all times of the year and found it had something for everybody, from vibrant night life and sophisticated restaurants to secluded peaceful calas, wonderful varied countryside with traditional villages and fishing ports nearby and only 45 minutes drive from the airport. The views, specification, layout and location of the apartment were ideal.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is a 3 minute walk to the marina and local shops,and enjoys the benefits and views of being slightly out of the town centre, although this is only a pleasant 10 minute stroll away. Being a modern development, it incorporates the latest fixtures and fittings and with its balcony and roof terrace offers versatile living space and outstanding views.

Notes on accommodation: Although many other similar sized apartments offer accommodation for 6 we have chosen to provide more spacious, comfortable living for 4 people and have equipped it accordingly. It is suitable for young and elderly. New in 2007, it has the latest air-con and heating system throughout and is fully double glazed. The parking and lift/stairs are adjacent to our entrance. We have a 1st class management company based locally who will contact you to arrange access to the property and provide you with information on the use of appliances, and places to visit. If you are arriving late they'll supply a food pack if requested in advance and are on call if you need them. Inside the apartment is no smoking, (please use balcony/sun terrace). No pets please. Please bring your own beach towels. Sun loungers are provided round the pool area. Our large private roof/sunbathing terrace gets the sun all day and has 6 loungers, shower, table and chairs. The views from here are outstanding. Outside: The attractive communal gardens have been landscaped and well stocked with plants and trees. There is a large residents pool with a grass area at one end. The pool has a shallow children's area and a shower. Sun loungers are provided around the pool. All communal areas are well but discreetly lit at night. If you have children aged 8 or under, the community request they are accompanied by an adult at the pool and in communal areas. There are waste disposal bins conveniently and discreetly sited in purpose built blocks outside the entrance gates.They are emptied regularly. The complex has unobtrusive security fencing around its boundaries. To the front are views overlooking the marina, sea and coast, whilst the rear overlooks open farmland. Our own large roof terrace has loungers, table and chairs, and shower hose. With lovely 360 degree views of the marina and coast , the countryside and hills beyond. It gets the sun all day and evening. Secure car parking is provided. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, clothes airer, laundry basket, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, broom, brushes, and accessories. Contains large capacity hot water boiler. Assortment of childrens pool aids. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen, bath and hand towels for 4 people. Property is cleaned weekly when the linen and towels are changed. We have a locally based 1st class property management company who you can contact you for any information you need. Other: Balcony has rattan 2-seater sofa, table+4 armchairs & coffee table. Large roof/sun terrace has 6 loungers, table +4 chairs, shower. 360 degree great views of marina, coast & inland. Has sun all day, storage chest with pool aids/covers/sunbrellas etc.

The apartment is perfect. It is really well equiped, nicely arranged ( the two bathrooms great with 2 adults and 2 grandaghters!), clean and well decorated. Since we are older the location suited us as it is not in the busy crowded center of Cala d'Or, and feels secure with being a gated complex, whilst being within easy walking distance of the Marina.

The owners and agent in resort were good to deal with. I would recomend this apartment to anyone.

Lovely apartment, very clean and nicely presented with good outside space for dining and sunbathing. With only the two of us using it, we had a bathroom each and I got to use the second bedroom as a dressing room! Good location with views over both the marina and countryside and just a few minutes walk to the marina and all that it has to offer. Secure gated complex with parking, which is a great bonus, so felt very secure. Good area around private pool too. Valerie & Colin were very easy to communicate with and deposit was very quickly returned. All in all a very good stay!

Lovely apartment

Apartment was everything we needed. Well decorated big balcony, and massive roof top area which gets sun all day.

Area fabulous had lovely meals out in some of the many restaurants.

This apartment has great views over the marina and has been well built to a high standard.

Would recommend very highly and will be returning.

Brian and Val have done very well here.

we returned for the second time

We enjoyed our first time stay here, so had to return to make sure it wasn't the vino tinto talking! Yes, a lovely apartment in the gorgeous Cala D'or - no, definitely not the wine making me say this!

Very private in what felt like a very secure complex. Views from the balcony down to the harbour lovely and from the kitchen window over the countryside.

As we used a shuttle transfer from the airport, was a bit frustrating the first time as the bus will only drop you off at hotels and we had a bit of bother finding out the nearest hotel. We did find out and then even more bother finding the apartment from that hotel - but it was worth this hassle and, of course, no bother on our second visit!

The apartment is very well equipped and clean. OK, so you can't view much telly cos of the difficulty in reception of some English channels - but then, who wants to watch telly when you're on holiday! A great addition this year was the provision of free wifi - again, connection was a bit hit and miss but was good enough for me to let everyone back home what a great time we were having!

The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home - real mattresses not those thin hospital types or those lumpy bumpy ones you often encounter in holiday homes.

We had a boiler leak whilst there but one call to the local management team, and the plumber was there and fixed it within a few hours - brilliant service.

The owners are in the UK and a pleasure to deal with.

I would definitely recommend this holiday home - we may well be back for a third time one of these days!

As regards the airport transfer, our understanding is that the Roig bus stops just a few yards from the complex. On our last visit, the television reception had improved so we were able to watch the England rugby match! The resort has 9 beaches or Calas. The nearest beaches, Cala des Pou and Cala d'Or, are two of the prettiest and about 10 minutes walk. They can also be reached by car or road train as can all the other local beaches. There are many other lovely beaches a short drive away (or cycle ride). In particular Cala Mondrago situated in the nature reserve of Mondrago, a 10 minute drive via Porto Petro, has a pretty beach and bar/restaurants. Or Es Trenc nr Campos, a long sandy bay, ideal for swimming.


Palma Airport is 45-50 minutes drive. 70 euros approx by taxi. We recommend car hire so you can fully explore this beautiful island. You can collect your car at Palma airport, or hire in the resort as required. Cycles, scooters and motor bikes can also be hired locally. It is also possible to arrange bus/coach transfers from the airport which drop you off close to the complex or take the transfer bus from the airport to Palma central coach station where the coaches run regularly to Cala D'or.


The pretty fishing port of Porto Petro is a short drive or 15 min walk, it has bars and restaurants and daily glass bottomed boat trips to many local Calas. The old town of Santanyi is 10 mins drive, Campos 20 mins, both have weekly markets.Villages worth a visit are S'alqueria Blanca 3kms, the Refuge at St. Salvador,and the natural harbour at Porto Colom . At Port Cristo are The Caves of Drach, with large underground lakes, where classical music is played.

The centre of town is a 10-15 minutes stroll, you can go via the road, the marina or road train, (which stops close by). It has all amenities of a modern resort: restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets, a variety of shops, banks, hotels. It is mainly low rise, so you can enjoy quiet plazas, original buildings and churches and stroll through secluded lanes to the local beaches. Here all types of watersports are provided. Also available locally are many activities such as golf, tennis, horse riding, cycling. There are many quiet off road tracks and paths you can explore on foot or bicycle. A 15 minute walk to the west is Cala Egos, a lively "strip" of bars, cafes and shops. From here you can visit the old fort Es Forti, explore the rocky coves, or relax on the beaches at Cala des Pou and Cala Egos.The acclaimed Marina Cala d'Or is just a 3 minute walk from the apartment. It has a mini Spar supermarket, friendly waterside bars and cafes, some with wi-fi, and a choice of excellent affordable restaurants, serving a selection of international, local and seafood dishes to suit all tastes and budgets. A 3 minute walk away, the Yacht Club allows non members use of their splendid facilities:bar,restaurant, pool, gym etc. The Tourist and Post Office are on the town side close to the marina. In the centre there are hotels, cocktail bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants, clubs and discos to suit every taste and budget.

The El Puerto residence was built to a high standard by Taylor Woodrow, a British owned company and completed in 2007. The exterior has been newly painted in 2012, the interior in 2014. It has been designed to provide high standard accomodation in a secure, relaxing environment.The property has the latest air-con system, and wifi is available. Double glazed throughout and complemented with quality fittings. The information pack in the apartment lists important phone numbers; doctors, taxis,car hire, restaurants etc.

A 25% deposit is required with booking. On receipt a booking confirmation will be sent to you confirming dates booked, deposit paid, balance outstanding. This balance is due in full no later than 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable £200 key/breakages deposit is also required at this time. If your booking is made within 8 weeks of arrival, full payment will be required.
Cancellations: 4 to 8 weeks before booked date 50% refund. 3 to 4 weeks before 25% refund. 3 weeks or less before no refund.

Changeover Day:
We try to be flexible and will accept midweek arrivals and departures to enable you to take advantage of cheaper flights. Please arrive after 2pm and vacate the apartment by 10am on day of departure. Our local agent will contact you with key details etc

Notes on prices:
All prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds, but should you prefer to pay in Euros, this is no problem and we will be pleased to quote you a rate. Shorter lets possible (minimum 4 nights) and midweek bookings considered, please enquire. Discounts for bookings in winter, last minute, and long lets. Please contact us for details.
