This luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom first floor apartment has been quality furnished as a 'home from home' and includes two additional 'double sized' sofa beds in the lounge which are suitable for children. The sheltered main balcony overlooks the expansive private landscaped garden area which is reserved for the exclusive use of Vila Sol residents and guests. There are 3 large pools (one is heated), children's pools, a jacuzzi and a restaurant/bar in the private grounds. The resort has an adjacent 27 hole championship golf course and a nearby beach with beach bar (5 minutes drive away). Superb restaurants and a well stocked supermarket are within walking distance and Vilamoura Marina is only a 10 minute drive away. There is now an onsite convenience store too.The apartment benefits from a private underground car parking space (ideal for keeping your car cool in the summer). Just 20 minutes away from Faro airport. There is also a fantastic water park with water slides and wave machine just 1km away. This is a non-smoking apartment.

About the Owner

Beverley and Ian live in England with their two boys aged 12 and 16. We enjoy holidaying abroad and have really taken to Portugal and the Algarve. The Portuguese are extremely friendly and the flight time from the UK isn't too long, with reasonably priced flights available from many UK airports and other European airports. We've been enjoying our apartment since our boys were 3 and 8 and they enjoy catching up with their friends from other apartments - Vila Sol is very family friendly and safe.

Ian and Beverley's Vila Sol Resort apartment

We stayed in this wonderful apartment for a week in Sept 2016. Its on a golf resort, just outside Vilamoura, near the Quarteira beaches.

The apartment is lovely, with great facilities; peaceful, with a great view over the parkland that it surrounds. The 3 pools are located within this parkland area, along with a bar/snack area. Plenty of room to luxuriate in the sun.

It also has a very good pub on site, serving a local IPA (!) and good food.

We spent some time on the local Quarteira beaches. And whilst not as scenic as some on the Algarve, they were sandy, clean, quiet, with shower areas. Also with bars and restaurants that were very good, and significantly cheaper than those around Vilamoura.

Recommended location, well connected to the rest of the Algarve.

Ian was a great host, and a pleasure to deal with.

A lovely place to stay on the Algarve. Highly recommended.

Location

We have several friends who have apartments in Vila Sol. After renting there ourselves we decided to 'take the plunge' and purchased our own property in 2007. The Vila Sol complex is very family friendly with secured gated garden areas with large expanses of grassed areas for the children to play in, plus the three well maintained pool areas. There are shaded areas too under the numerous trees in the garden area. The airport at Faro is only 20-25 minutes away and it is served by several airlines with competitive fares. The local beaches are fantastic and close by whilst Vilamoura Marina is less than 10 minutes by car or taxi. Wifi is available in the restaurants nearby, in the central pool area and also via a dongle that can be rented from Customer Services on a daily or weekly basis.

Coast/Beach:

The Vilamoura and Quarteira beaches are a 5 minute drive away. The beautiful resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago are 15 minutes away whilst the sandy Islands near Tavira are well worth the 30 minute drive.

Travel:

Vila Sol village is only 20-25 minutes (20km) away from Faro International Airport. A taxi can be hired from the airport (approximately 30 Euros). There are several reputable and reasonable car hire companies at the airport which can be booked locally or in advance over the internet. Car hire (with air-conditioning) is recommended. Your car can be parked in the secure underground car park with elevator access to the apartment.

Distances:

Vilamoura and Marina 2km; Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago 10-12km; Albufeira 12km; Silves 30km; Lisbon 200km. The Aqua park is a 3 minute drive.

The property is extremely well maintained and furnished to a very high standard. We keep a travel cot and high chair in the apartment; these are available at no extra cost.

  • Notes on accommodation: There is air-conditioning in the lounge and both bedrooms which can be used (reversed) to heat the apartment if the weather is cooler. Free Wi-Fi access is available around the main pool, at the Deli Coffee or at Oscar's Bar. Wi-Fi code for the pool area is avalable on request. Outside: The landscaped grounds are accessible through locked gates thus ensuring security and privacy. There are 3 swimming pools (one heated), childrens' pools, a jacuzzi and a poolside restaurant/bar for guests. WiFi is available adjacent to the poolside bar area. There are several shaded areas in the garden. Balcony furniture includes a table, 4 chairs and two sun loungers. There is an additional balcony off one of the rear bedrooms for afternoon sun-seekers.
