About the property

Spacious,Tuscan-style, family friendly house with 3 bedrooms-all en-suite

Our farmhouse, La Cesa, is privately situated in 15 acres of well maintained terraced gardens where olives , flowers and fruits grow in abundance under the Tuscan sunshine. A perfect rural setting offering two very well equipped and spacious independent houses in a quiet but handy location for holiday rental near to the medieval hilltop town of Cortona.

The three resident hens provide fresh eggs daily whilst the Orto provides guests with seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Each house sleeps 6 comfortably and can be booked separately or as a whole unit to accommodate up to 12 guests comfortably if required, as they are interconnected.

Each spacious house has 3 double bedrooms all with en-suite wet rooms as standard. All bedding and towels are provided and each has private car parking and WiFi access. La Stufa comprises of a spacious ground floor patio entrance into a well equipped kitchen and dining room. A large open plan sitting room then leads through to the first floor double bedroom with its own private courtyard. The other two double bedrooms are located up the stairs on separate floors and can be made up as twins if required.

Onoria’s entrance overlooks the front lawns and gardens and leads into a spacious sitting room before arriving into an open plan dining area catered by a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances.

Two bedrooms lead off an internal passage with both rooms enjoying patio door access to the garden. The third bedroom is also located on the ground floor.

Guests of our apartments can spend time relaxing comfortably on sun loungers, or under shady umbrellas around our large crystal clear infinity pool that boasts a panoramic view to nearby Cortona.

There is unlimited access around the extensive gardens which can provide you with the opportunity for a leisurely evening stroll.

These houses are particularly suited to families with children or couples getting together and requiring a peaceful holiday setting that is not far from some of Tuscany and Umbria’s main attractions.

Our property is located on the Tuscany/Umbrian border, approximately 5km from the medieval hilltop town of Cortona with its historical churches, cultural events and small winding cobbled streets to explore. Within easy reach of many other interesting places including the famous wines of Montepulciano, religious and beautiful Assisi and historic Lake Trasimeno.

Amongst the typical Italian countryside of rolling hills and tall Cedars, vineyards and sunflowers you can explore deeper into the rural areas with many events and festivals to celebrate delicious typical Italian foods, olive oils, cheeses, breads and of course wines all taking place throughout the summer.

Hire cars can be arranged for collection at all airports and would be recommended to get out and about but we can easily arrange and provide transport to and from

Perugia Airport or from our two local train stations on the main rail routes if required.

A number of airport and rail transport options can be combined easily to suit.

Day trips using local trains can easily be arranged to accommodate trips to explore the wonders of Florence and Rome, Arezzo, Sienna or Perugia during your stay.

Our local towns of Camucia and Cortona cater for all your local shopping needs with choices of supermarkets, dining options and vibrant weekly market days. Closer to home we have a handy small shop, a friendly bar and great pizzeria nearby.

La Cesa apartments now have a refurbished traditional wood fired bread oven (measuring 2m diameter) when lit provides the perfect setting for a relaxed culinary feast throughout the evening, just a little notice is required to ensure enough heat is built up before you begin cooking... Less than a kilometre from the apartments you will find a small and welcoming bar where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the daily routine of life in this delightful Italian community. Next door to the bar is L’Oasi Della Pizza a fantastic family friendly pizzeria with tables both inside and out, also providing a take away service. We are also fortunate enough to have a well stocked supermarket supplying a vast array of local produce. We are pleased to recommend restaurants and happy to provide transport should it be required. We have enjoyed every minute at La Cesa in June 2012 and again in June 2013 together with our family and friends. Everything about the villa is just perfect for a relaxing and fun holiday in beautiful southern Tuscany. We have enjoyed villa holidays in the Cortona area on and off for thirty years but this beautiful home is the best of the best. Charles and his family have created a wonderful oasis of beauty and calm which is almost beyond description. The living accommodation is so comfortable, the gardens and pool are exquisite, and its location is perfect for visiting so many places of interest within a short drive. A special mention for the Spar shop in the village?.it is so good that we didn?t have to waste precious time travelling into town to larger stores. We look forward to our next opportunity to visit La Cesa.

We recommend this property without any hesitation. It is well maintained, spotlessly clean, thoroughly functional, and optional locally prepared delicious meals are available at reasonable prices.

Rome and Pisa airports are almost equidistant, although getting onto the motorway from Pisa Airport is easier. They are about 2 hours away by car. There are also good flights to Florence just over 1 hour away and Perugia is 40 minutes away offering flights from Stansted UK. The local station Terontola is 10 minutes drive from the house with regular services to Florence, Rome, Perugia and Sienna There are several local taxis but they do need to be booked.


Our village, Pergo, is about 1km away and we are under 10 minutes by car, from Cortona. Both Florence and Rome are easily reached by train (to be recommended) for day trips. Siena, Arezzo, Gubbio, Montepulciano are best reached by car but are all less than an hour from the house.

Further Details:

In the village we have a wonderful little supermarket where you can buy all you could possibly need. It is a 10 minute walk or 2 minutes by car. There is also a place for hiring bikes by the day or week.

The house is particularly well placed for those who like to visit museums, galleries and both medieval and renaissance architecture. Rome, Florence, Siena, Gubbio, Pienza, Montepulciano, Orvieto and Viterbo are all within easy reach for a day visit. If you need help in deciding what to do, our on-site hosts will be able to help!
