About the property

Villa in Cerro do Botelho, Sao Bras de Alportel, Algarve - Peaceful Location In Countryside

This is a traditional Algarvian country house, built in 1910 and restored in a pleasant mixture of rural/rustic and modern style. Kept with love and care by the local owner's. It is located near a small village and just 10 mins walk from the nearest mini market and cafe. Spacious terrace with a private pool and a covered area where you can find a nice barbecue area and a shower room. The walls surrounding all the terrace area make this house very private. Automatic gate at the main entrance. Carport for 2 cars. The airport is 20 km away. Nearest supermarket, 1 km. Nearest restaurant, 2 km. Nearest beach, 20 km. There is maid service included and guests decide how often she will go to the villa.

About Silvia Viegas

The property belongs to my parents but I am the one answering all the e-mails and other type of contacts. I also welcome all the guests on their arrival. I am 39 year's old and have always worked with tourism. My mother will welcome you with a delicious home made cake and my father is responsible for most of the renovation work that was done to the property.

Silvia Viegas purchased this villa in 2005

Why Silvia Viegas chose Algarve

The property belongs to my grand mother's family since 1910. My parents had it renovated in 2004/05 after my grand parents went to live with us. My grandmother died in 2010 at the age of 91 but my grandfather is still alive and he is 89 year's old.

I lived here till I was 9 years old and I have beautiful memories of all the place and surroundings.

What makes this villa unique

My mother wanted the property to be a home, not a holiday villa. We want people to fill in a family home with everything they will need. My mother welcomes all the guests with a delicious home made cake and when possible with some vegetables and fruit from the orchard and also my fahter home made wine. The villa is completely private and can not be overlooked.

Guestbook comments from the manager

'We felt honoured to be the very first guests.... We have been regular visits to this part of the Algarve for over 10 years and feel this is probably the best equipped and cosiest house we have stayed in.' Bagguley, 9 - 17 April 2004.

'As a villa rep, I've seen many villas, but this has to be on of the best!' Jill, 2 - 9 September 2004.

'Like others, this is by far the best villa we have rented and the care and love put into it by the Viegas family is obvious.' Largue, 7 - 28 July 2005.

'Everything once again 'tip top'...!' Bagguley - 11 - 20 April 2006.

'No matter how many times you visit this wonderful place there is always something magical about arriving at this little piece of paradise.' Largue, July 2007.

'Thanks for looking after us, plus the continual improvements to the already excellent villa!' Pett, March 2008.

'Nothing I could not find in that amazing kitchen.' Booth, June 2009.

Just lovely

  • 5 of 5

The owner and her parents are wonderful. Such high standards of cleaniliness and the kitchen has everything you could want. Annoying things to buy when away like cooking oils, vinegar, salt and pepper to name but a few. On arrival we had local honey, jam, bread, veg, fruit and salad from their garden/orchard and eggs also from their own poultry. Super cosy feel too. Can't fault it. Fairly rural so you would need a car but bit not at all far from anywhere and local town Sao bras is really nice to walk around in and has lovely coffee shops and a great pizzeria

Simply wonderful

  • 5 of 5

From the start of the holiday it was wonderful. Met by Silvia who gave a home made cake and some essential supplies in the fridge.

We opted for the pool to be heated and it was lovely. All mod cons...including washing machine and bbq outside. The pictures don't show how much room there is in villa and gardens. Just a short drive from Intermarche. Sao bras, tavira, faro just short drive away and lovely towns to visit.

Car essential but the peace and quiet was wonderful. Came home feeling very relaxed.

Will definitely be going back...just got to check calendar.

Fabulous villa

  • 4 of 5

This was our second time at the villa. Again it was the perfect break, very relaxing and restful. It has all the facilities you need and more and the outside space and pool are excellent. Another wonderful cake from Silvia's mum just adds to the very extensive welcome pack. We enjoyed it so much we will definitely go again.
