very relaxing stay, weather still lovely for october.

Nice quiet area, however not far from Mojacar where bars and restaurants are, as well as beaches.

Great hosts, would defiantly recommend and hope to come back ourselves.

Great get away from it all tranquility

  • 5 of 5

Located in a dusty Spanish village in the rolling Andalucian contryside this property is an oasis. Mornings are met with a burst of sunlight on the south facing outdoor pool area, as the local goats meander off into the countryside. Now, where on the ample outdoor area shall I while away the first few hours. OK, at the end of the beautiful tiled pool, in full sun, before it gets too hot. Hmmm, mid morning, time for 200 laps of the pool, not too deep but not too shallow, perfect. No cracked knees on the bottom. Ah well, better have a little lunch on the ample outdoor dining table. Bit of shade. Crack a cheeky beer. Excellent, now where's my book, it's post lunch chillax time. I think I will use one of the other sun loungers this time, so I can lookout over the amazing landscape. I'm drifting into siesta, yup, see you at 4.30............zzzzzzzzzz.

Now then, time for an enlivening dip in the pool, come on wife, put that G&T down. Right 5pm, cards out, this time relaxing in the wonderful cushioned outdoor sofa and chairs. 2 hours of canasta, San Miguel by my side. Woosh. 8pm (ok, 3 hours of canasta) time to spark up the Barbie. Fish, pork, peppers, side salad, 3 euro bottle of proseco. Fresh fruit for dessert. Gees, it's gone midnight, I need to go to bed, got serious holidaying to do tomorrow. What's the programme? Well, more of today really because this place is perfect for it. Yes, kitchen is bijou, but with the BBQ, it does all you need of it. Gill and Phil are great hosts, they are there if you want them but totally invisible if you choose to do your own thing. We ended up only getting 2 hours sleep on our last night because we had such a lovely evening with them. White wine for Gill and a beer or three for Phil. Can't thank you enough for letting us enjoy your well thought out, comfortable, welcoming property. I don't know how you manage to train the swallows to entertain guests all day long or get the geckos to provide the follow up act!

Stunning and Tranquil Stay

  • 5 of 5

If it's a peaceful and tranquil holiday you want, then this is the place! The views are stunning and the relaxing aura the place gives off is wonderful. The locals are all very friendly and there are a couple of bars within walking distance, if you enjoy drinking out, and the beach and all it's amenities and bars and restaurants are only a half hour drive away. The accommodation is beautiful, with fine furnishings, and has everything you need. And the owners Gill and Phil are a lovely couple too, who are always willing to help or advise you, to make your stay even more perfect. We absolutely adored the place and every day and night that passes, makes you fall in love with the place even more. We will definitely be returning again in the very near future. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, and letting us enjoy this most wonderful part of Spain

A wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

On arrival, the old Farmhouse is just stunning; it is clean, functional and tidy and includes almost everything you could need. The rustic location and views are just amazing and we found it difficult to get bored of waking up to beautiful scenery every morning. The pool is lovely and we were in there on the first evening for a midnight dip and some stargazing, yes it was certainly warm enough.

The welcome we received from Gill and Phil was also warm. They were most accommodating and helpful. They suggested places to visit and shop and gave clear directions. As said in other reviews they do keep a low profile but as they live next door they are like neighbours and available if required.

You really are away from it all, apart from a couple of Tavernas (one has a small selection of groceries and does lovely Tapas) about 20mins walk away there are no big shops so a car is essential. As well as relaxing and spending the day by the pool, we visited local towns and villages, the beach at Mojacar, Mini Hollywood (for Spaghetti Western fans) and the Alhambra in Granada (for a bit of culture).

We didn’t switch on the TV and hardly ever used the living room, which I feel was wasted space apart from sending my partner there to blow dry her hair because it was adding heat to the already hot bedroom.

The kitchen and cooking facilities were adequate and comprehensively equipped albeit rather small; (the BBQ was great and very easy to use).

My only criticism is the lack of air-con. It was very uncomfortable at night time in the bedroom to start with but we kinda got used to the heat although we had to open the windows during the day to get the cool winds blowing through, which did let in the flies. Perhaps the living room could be changed to a kitchen-diner and the bedroom rearranged to include the TV, DVDs and books?

All things said we had a fabulous time. We would gladly recommend the Farmhouse to friends with a caution about the lack of air-con.

Fabulous Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was an abolutely perfect relaxing holiday and nothing could be faulted at all. The house was lovely and immaculate and had everything you needed. However, the pool and outdoor area was what made the holiday for us. The pictures look great but it really has to be seen to be believed and we were blown away when we first arrived.

We had planned to go out and about in the car and do some sightseeing throughout the week but struggled to drag ourselves away from the pool and beautiful surroundings. We used the bbq every night and thoroughly enjoyed making use of the different outdoor living spaces.

Gill and Phil were perfect hosts and very discreet but were always there when needed.

All in all a perfect holiday that we really did not want to leave. We certainly look forward to returning at some point in the future.

A wonderful holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home after spending a week at this beautiful farmhouse accommodation, it was everything we hoped for and more.

We were met with a very warm welcome from the owners Jill & Phil who were there throughout the week to offer any information and advice if asked but equally the fact that the rented unit was attached to their residence wasn't a problem at all because they were very 'low key' unless you asked for their input.

Everything about the living space was spotlessly clean and comfortable with some beautiful touches, the bedroom is spacious with plenty of storage and the bathroom has everything you need with ample hot water for showers.

However, this property excels when it comes down to the outdoor area.....a beautiful pool with roman steps, potted plants and soft solar lighting for the evenings.....and the views of the mountains are unforgettable - rugged Spain at it's best.

There is a small kitchen between the main house and the rented conversion, it is perfectly well equipped and again spotlessly clean. It has a washing machine, large fridge freezer and just outside there is a huge gas barbecue which is always at the disposal of guests. Our own personal opinion is that perhaps a microwave would be useful in there but then I guess no-one wants to be inside cooking too much when you could be relaxing outside and taking in those wonderful views or starry evenings.

There is a small hamlet close to the farmhouse but not perhaps within walking distance in the July temperatures ! It does however have two bars (only tried one of them, a very basic but friendly local place where you are made to feel extremely welcome and will be able to eat the most delicious tapas we have tried anywhere!).

It's just a short drive to the coast or equally up the mountain to the small towns of Sorbas or Lubrin....everywhere you go to around here leaves you just amazed by the scenery.

To summarise - if you want action and adventure then this isn't the place for you. If you would like to relax in beautiful surroundings with gorgeous views, a fantastic pool and a comfy bed at the end of the day then you need look no further.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay and hope to return soon. Thank you Phil & Jill for all the care and attention you have put into making sure your guests have such a lovely experience.
