This traditional, spacious Casa set in a rural location, has easy access to the motorway, towns with character and a choice of superb natural beaches. It is situated approx 25 mins from Faro and 2.2km from Moncarapacho, with it's pretty town square and good choice of traditional restaurants. The Casa has four double bedrooms,three en suite bathrooms and a large open plan living area. It is surrounded by 3/4 of an acre of enclosed, private gardens, well stocked with traditional Mediterranean plants. The large pool is, undoubtedly, one of the Casa's most outstanding features. Our nearest neighbours are 150 meters away.

Why Huw Williams and David Williams chose Moncarapacho

The villa is situated in a beautiful, unspoilt part of the Algarve, close to the many beautiful beaches and islands of the Rio Formosa National Park.

There are several excellent golf courses within easy reach, to the east and west of the property.

Easy access to the Spanish border, the beautiful city of Seville is close enough for a day excursion.

An excellent base to explore the surrounding countryside and historic towns such as Estoi and Tavira.

What makes this villa unique

Although set in a private location, the villa is still close enough to the town of Moncarapacho with it's small farmer's market, plenty of supermarkets, banks, garage and a choice of traditional restaurants and cafes.

The bustling fishing port of Olhao, famous for its fish and fruit markets, is a short drive away and well worth a visit. Local Sunday markets are also a huge attraction.

The villa is situated in a beautiful, unspoilt part of the Algarve, close to the many beautiful beaches and islands of the Rio Formosa National Park. There are several excellent golf courses within easy reach, to the east and west of the property. Easy access to the Spanish border, the beautiful city of Seville is close enough for a day excursion. An excellent base to explore the surrounding countryside and historic towns such as Estoi and Tavira.

Special interest holidays:

The most colourful time of the year in the Algarve is March - April. After the rainfall during the winter months the surrounding countryside and gardens are full of pinks and purples with the Almond trees in full bloom. In the garden we have natural French lavender and wild orchids and the surrounding land is full of colour.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is at Fuzeta a 12 mins drive. Fuzeta has a sandy beach which is part of the lagoon system and is safe and shallow. It is part of the Reserva Natural de RIA Formosa which streches for 30 km from Ancoa, west of Faro to Manta Rota near the Spanish border. Between April and October the ferries cross from Fuzeta to Praia da Fuzeta on the eastern end of Ilha da Armona a stunning beach. Also Pedras d'El Rei where you catch the train and head for Barril and its many anchors.

Travel:

Casa Pais de Gales is 25 minutes from Faro Airport. From Moncarapacho to Tavira 20 mins. To the Spanish border and Ayomonte 30 mins. To Sevillia under 2 hours. A hire car is essential.

Distances:

Moncarapacho nearest towns 5 min in car. Distance is 2K.

Olhao and the fish market is 12 Km away.

Fuzeta nearest beach is 12 km.

Tavira is 20 minutes away.

The Spanish border at Castro Marim is 30 min away.

To travel to Seville follow the motorway to Spain.Time to Seville 1hours 45 mintes.

  • Notes on accommodation: The main stairs in an 'open staircase' construction and toddlers should be supervised. October is the beginning of autumn in Algarve. The Mediterranian autumn is the same as spring so expect warm and pleasant weather so you may well see summer heat and some cool days. Average daily temperature is 22 C ( 72 F) and as low as 16C ( 61F ). An average of 8 hrs of sunshine each day in the Algarve WINTER LETS Heating from November is by a wood burner in the lounge There are also electric fan heaters in each of the main bedrooms. We also have hot water bottles. ALL RESTAURANTS REMAIN OPEN IN MONCARAPACHO Outside: By the pool we have 8 sun loungers and three large sun umbrellas. There is also shaded area by the pool, shade under the large bottle brush tree and shade under the pool house.To the side of the pool house we have a cold shower The BBQ is also within the pool house. We have also installed gates and fencing to stop small children from obtaining access to the pool area unless they are accompanied by adults. We ask you to make sure that these are closed after every visit to the pool. Garden and open areas. We have created different areas that give different aspects towards the Casa Please enjoy these areas. Outside the entrance if you turn left you can walk up towards the top of the hill and from there to the south you can enjoy a wonderful view towards the Rio Formosa. Walking to Moncarapacho takes 20 to 30 minutes and is dependent on your fitness. Utility Room: Large fridge/freezer. For visits to the beach there is also a cool box. Iron and ironing board. Washing machine located in ground floor bathroom. Internet/wifi connection at the CASA is an additional cost of 30 euro per week Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned once a week, towels and linen are provided but we ask quests to bring their own beach towels. The pool is cleaned on your arrival date and once during your stay. Beach Towels can be hired at £4.00 per week each. Other: In the sun lounge there is a sofa bed that can be used as a double bed for guests no. 9/10. There are also 2 chair/beds, ideal for children or young adults. We also have a cot and high chair for babies.
