Apartment in Crans Montana, Valais - Superb Location, 10 Mins Walk From Town

Crans Montana is 'charming, sporty, entertaining and culturally mature' offering a variety of restaurants, bars, shops and leisure facilities within easy walking distance from the apartment. The resort offers all year round activities including: Winter - downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledging and skating: Summer - golf, hiking, paragliding, mountain biking, horse riding, archery and swimming. Surrounding areas within 1 hours drive include: Leukerbad-home to the largest thermal spas in Europe, Verbier-popular ski resort, and Montreux situated on Lake Geneva with its famous Jazz Festival. Zermatt-home of the Matterhorn 105 mins. If wine is your passion the Valais region is well renowned. There are numerous Caves located on the route from Sierre to Crans where it is possible to taste and buy. The spacious 3 room apartment is on the 1st floor accessible by lift or stairs. Everything you need

We went for the golf in Crans Montana, you can walk to course in 25 minutes easily, going past a lovely lake, there are plenty of walking routes up in the mountains that are really good to do.

The apartment has everything you need for your stay, we tended to cook as meals out can be a little expensive but are good.

We really liked it and would recommend it.

Viv & Geoff were extremely good with any information we required.

Nice apartment on excellent location

If anywhere in the Alps the sun is shining it is here in Crans Montana but if nowhere in the Alps the sun is shining you still can enjoy skiing here since many skiruns go through the forests and visibility is still good. This is probably the nicest ski area in the Alps.

The apartment had everything we needed, the kitchen is well equipped and also the living is, despite the size, comfortable and cosy.

The ski-out feature includes a warming up of about 25 meters up hill and the ski-in feature might be challenging for beginners but eventually the ski-bus stops just in front. There is a nice walking way to the centre of Montana (took less than 15 minutes).

We parked our car in the garage and only used it to go to René Rey Sports in Crans to rent our excellent ski material.

Conclusion: I think we will come back next year, Viv!

very good equipped apartment and very impressive kitchen

When we arrived the apartment was very clean, I could not fault it. the description of how to get there were very accurate, and helped us very well on the way. Viv and Geoff were very good and officiant with responding to our emails prier booking accommodation even though they were on holiday at the time, I was very impressed. I would defiantly recommend it to fiends. We went skiing and after being outside all day we normally soaked in the bath, which felt such a luxury, and enjoyed home cooked meals in the evening.

Nature on your door step

The apartment is nicely furnished, cosy, comfortable and sunny and although located near the street, bedroom windows overlook the forest so it is quiet. We had everything we needed. We didn't realize Crans Montana is a ski resort at 1.500 m above sea level but provide everything a town should have, even a shoe maker(!), not to mention luxurious shops. Great starting point for hiking and mountain biking. Amazing paths, a trail to Lac de Tseuzier and back to Montana offered stunning views! We were really glad we had one rainy day to rest a bit.

Great apt Crans Montana

The apt is very nice and comfortable, with a positive aura. The host is very friendly and communicative. Crans Montana is great - fresh air, lakes, mountains, nice restaurants, sport activities, also great masterclasses and concerts organized by Crans Montana Classics every summer.

From the Owner

We were looking for a property in the Alps with summer and winter activities and found that Crans Montana fitted the bill perfectly as it's an easy drive from Geneva and only 8 hours from Calais. We love the skiing here and also the surrounding areas of Grimentz and Zinal which are up to only 1 hours drive away. Out of the ski season we enjoy walking and down hill biking. The world renowned golf course of Crans Sur Sierre was a big draw as well as the sunny aspect and stunning views.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary


Within 10 mins drive is picturesque Lac Moubra surrounded by pine forests where you can swim safely or hire pedalos. Here there is also a fun Forest (ideal for the children), table tennis, tennis courts and a restaurant. There is an open air flume pool at Crans Sur Sierre Golf Club. Swimming is also available at various hotels in the resort the nearest being Hotel Valaisia a 33 degree salt water pool only 5 mins walk from the apartment. Further afield there is a beach at Montreux on Lake Geneva.


Crans Montana is accessible by train or bus from Geneva airport. Trains leave Geneva airport terminal every hour for Sierre and the journey time is about 2hrs. On arriving at Sierre a funicular train service will take you up the valley to Crans Montana (approximately 20 min). Alternatively if you wish to drive from the airport Crans is approx 105 mins. Driving from Calais or Boulogne will take approx 9 hours.


In the valley are the historic towns of Sierre (25 min) and Sion (35 min), both offering a variety of shopping and cultural facilities. Visit thriving Sion market, held every Friday, where you can taste and buy local produce. Mushrooms are a speciality here. There are numerous wine making villages in the Valais region. Other places of interest are Zermatt (105 mins incl train), Saas Fee (75 mins), Leukerbad (45 mins) and Reideralp incl Aletsch Glacier- the largest in Europe (90 mins).

Further Details:

The resort has a free shuttle bus service which runs through the winter and from the end of June to the middle of September. The nearest bus stop is only 25m from the apartment. Crans Montana offers a wide variety of international cuisine including traditional Swiss to Thai or Lebanese. There are:

4 supermarkets. 6 local banks with cash machines. 4 pharmacies, 3 boulangeries. Crans Montana is also noted for its speciality shops: delicatessen, poissoniere, chocolatiere, wine merchants, designer clothes shops. A cinema, casino and bowling alley can be found in the town. Adventure activities such as paint balling, Via Feratta, canyoning or ice climbing in the winter can be booked through the Adrenatur office located at Lac Moubra.
