Guestbook comments from the owner

A new experience for us that proved to be a huge success. We loved the cottage, clean and comfortable. Lazy days around the pool and relaxing BBQs, what more could you wish for! Sarah and Nigel, Kent.

We enjoyed our stay, the cottage is very cosy. The colourful, spacious, private garden and pool were much appreciated. We will be back. Dirk and Linda, Belgium.

We came to a lovely 'home from home'. Although your site photos and details are attractive (thats why we choice here) to see it in real life is far better. We have stayed in 5 star hotels that do not come close to Finka 18.

Chill out time in Tenerife

  • 5 of 5

We have just arrived back from a really relaxing 2 weeks in the cottage. Ken & Sally certainly have an eye for detail & the cottage was exactly as described on the website.

The cottage is up a very narrow lane, but this helps to keep the area quiet & remote. Most of the time you can only hear the birds & the local animals.

Our hosts were willing to offer advice when needed, but also appreciated our privacy & left us to enjoy the peace & quiet.

Thanks for a great holiday.

Leigh & Michele

Wonderful, secluded villa with great view

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the villa. It's perfectly sized for a couple with a cozy living area/kitchen, large bedroom and bathroom, all with vaulted ceilings. The bedroom has fantastic view over the terrace and pool to the valley below and the sea in the distance. Being woken by the morning sun was a welcome change to the 6am work alarm. French doors lead onto the patio, great for breakfast and BBQs.

The outdoor space is really quite extensive. It's secluded and quiet and the only folk you may see are the very friendly owners who live the other side of the driveway. The owners have a separate entrance to their property and in no way spoil the villas seclusion.

We used the villa as a base to explore the islands beaches, villages and snorkelling sites but it is perfect for those who would want to spend the day by the heated pool. We spent a week over Christmas and the pool was warm enough to enjoy.

Overall I would highly recommend this villa for a quiet, private holiday away from the crazy tourist resorts.

A break above the clouds!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely environment, up a tortuous road, and often above the clouds that roll off the Atlantic. Your hosts will help you out with great information about the area that you ignore to your detriment - (Farmers Market Saturday & Sunday, use it, stock up on fantastic local food for the week) - at the same time they are very discrete and leave you to get on with things! The finka is fantastic and just the right size for two to feel at home without being crowded. We especially enjoyed the pool and sun-bathing area with the many lizards running about. Brilliant!

Perfect Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a holiday in this gorgeous villa which "ticked all our boxes" and more. This really was a lucky find and very good value for money. The proprietors were extremely hospitable and ensured we had everything we needed. The situation of the villa was perfect - we prefer staying out of town, and this was very peaceful. The villa had a lovely, warm swimming pool for our exclusive use with plenty of areas to sit and sunbathe or eat. The villa was also spacious and very well-equipped. It will be very difficult to find another holiday property which can compare to the quality we found here for the price. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who is looking to rent a 1-bedroomed villa in Tenerife.

Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding!

  • 5 of 5

Voordelen

• Verrassend rustig!

(Rond zwembad, diameter ong. 3,5 meter.)

• Huisje biedt optimale privacy.

Nadelen

Kostte moeite om nadelen te verzinnen. Voor ons was het huisje perfect. Maar vooruit:

• Keuken niet bijzonder;

Location

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Tenerife South at 12 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : In El Salto at 3 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Golf del Sur at 14 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : TF1 at 6 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : San Jose Los Quemados at 3 Kilometres Nearest Beach : El Medano Beaches at 10 Kilometres Car: necessary

Special interest holidays:

Tenerife is ideal for mountian biking, hiking and walking trips. On the coast the village of El Medano boasts the best location on the island for windsurfing and kiting with its natural white sand.

Coast/Beach:

Visit the local beach of El Medano or La Tajita (about 15 minute drive) with its natural sand, relax at the local bars and watch the many watersports or try them yourself.

Travel:

Tenerife South Airport serves most holiday companies and although this is just a 15 min drive away the cottage is not on a flight path nor troubled by aircraft noise.

It is recommended that you hire a car when staying at the cottage.

Distances:

The village of El Salto is just a few minutes drive from the cottage where there is a local supermarket, bar and restaurant. San Isidro is the next town (about 7 minutes by car) for banks, supermarkets, shopping or El Medano for beach restaurants and souvenirs.

Further Details:

There are plenty of places to visit and explore, some by car others on foot or mountian bike. A 'must' is the volcano of Tiede. It is a strange sensation to be at sea level then to travel up over 3000m in just over 1 hour to this fantastic landscape with all its beautiful and varying rock structures and colours. Stop at the village of Villaflor on the way, which is the highest village in Spain, and take in the stunning views. A good hike or bike ride here is to 'Paisaje Lunar' which you suddenly discover inbetween the pine trees. Tenerife has many different plants and trees and at Icod they are proud of their centuries old 'Drago' tree.
