Home on Punta Gorda Isles, Port Charlotte, Florida - Five minutes Walk from Fisherman's Village Waterfront Restaurant/Shopping Complex

Villa Rum Cay enjoys a quiet cul-de-sac location on Punta Gorda Isles, an exclusive boating community on Port Charlotte Harbour. 120 square miles of sparkling water that lead directly to the Gulf of Mexico. The location makes it an ideal location to explore the nearby islands of Sanibel, Captiva, and Boca Grande. Siteseeing cruies run from nearby Fisherman's Village own to the Gulf Island or up river to se the real "old Florida"

From your private dock you can fish, rent a boat or just watch the fantastic sunsets. A few minutes WALK away is Fisherman's Village, a complex of seven restaurants and numerous shops all built on the water on Charlotte harbour. There is a large heated pool (heating optional) a gas BBQ and plenty of patio furniture as well as a full size pool bar. The villa has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and sleeps a maximum of six people (an additional child can be accommodated on a sofa bed at a extra charge). South facing pool and wireless internet provided.

We first fell in love with this beautiful unspoilt part of the South West Florida Gulf coast whilst on honeymoon in 1988 -after the noise, crowds and hectic pace in Orlando we discovered Punta Gorda to be a haven of peace and tranquillity, friendly locals and unspoilt nature at its best. One day we vowed to have a home here.

In 2003, two children later, we finally realised our dream of owning a home here, and since then our family, friends, and many guests have enjoyed staying at our much loved Punta Gorda villa.

In fact, we loved it so much that in 2007 we bought a second villa here!

We are very proud of our homes here and go to a great deal of time and trouble to ensure that they are a memorable place for our family,friends and guests to stay.

Outside: From the lounge large glass sliding windows open up to a stunning huge pool deck. Together with a full size bar, there is a dining table, sun loungers and patio furniture surround the pool, and give great views over the water. A few steps lead down to your private boat dock, from where you can fish, or maybe rent a boat and explore. Utility Room: Washer and dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included except for pool/beach towels.

Fabulous home in Punta Gorda

We stayed here for a week and it was fantastic. The house is spacious and beautiful. We were able to walk to Fisherman's Village to watch the sunset and enjoy a cocktail. Punta Gorda is a great location/destination. We biked for an afternoon, drove to the beach twice, golfed, took nature hikes and did a pub crawl which included the sunset. We are definitely planning to come back next year and hopefully stay at the same house on Rum Cay.

Wonderful Punta Gorda

Upon arrival we were immediately impressed with the appearance of the home; nicely landscaped, in a very peaceful neighborhood. The listing description was accurate; location, photos, etc. The property was clean and well prepared for our visit. The owner went above and beyond to make us are of all local attractions and opportunities available to us during our stay.

We highly recommend this property to all. Could not be more pleased. Wonderful neighbors!!

The property location is close to the historic district of Punta Gorda. Fisherman's Village is a must see attraction with both shops and dining. We enjoy riding bicycles. While in Punta Gorda, we rode our bicycles many miles both along the waterfront on excellent bike trails and into the residential areas.

Awesome location - Great Property

Punta Gorda....What can I say?.... After much research, knew that this was the town for us! After our stay at Villa Rum Cay this was confirmed. An excellent rental that was exactly as represented. Plenty of room, clean and conveniently located within walking distance to Fisherman's Village. Our daughter and her friend enjoyed one side of this spacious home while my wife and I had our own master suite and bath.....

The pool / lanai are is hands down the best aspect of Villa Rum Cay. Relaxing by the pool, cocktails at the pool side bar and the ability to escape and enjoy an afternoon thunderstorm under the covered portion of the lanai made for and unforgettable stay. Rented a boat from Holidayz boat rental and docked it right out back!

Fabulous Villa in Fabulous location,

This was truly an amazing week spent in this villa in Punta Gordo, the villa was wonderful. The views, pool and location were excellent, an easy walk to fisherman's village and downtown, both of which has good restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend staying here, there are no negatives

Punta Gorda has its own small harbour beach just 5 minutes away. Nearby Port Charlotte also has a beach complex 10 minute drive away.

Driving a little further will bring you to the stunning gulf front beaches of Englewood and Boca Grande.

Just a few minutes WALK from the villa is famous Fisherman's Village, a complex of shops and restaurants overlooking stunning Charlotte Harbour.


Fort Myers airport is 30 mins away, Tampa 1.5 hours, Orlando 2 hrs, Miami 3.5 hrs.


Walking distance to famous Fisherman's Village, which has numerous shops, restaurants, and baot tours.

Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte with numerous shops, Malls, and restaurants are just 5-10 minutes away.
