Apartment in Menton, Nr. Nice, Cote d'Azur - Tranquil Location, 6 Minutes Walk To Beach

The studio is quietly situated on the Boulevard de Garavan, the most residential quarter of Menton. From here, there are stunning views across the bay, marinas and Old Town. There is a secure parking space within the gardens and an entryphone. The studio is bright and spacious with a sunny terrace. It has a refitted kitchen with oven, hob and fridge/freezer. It is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, electric kettle, microwave, flat-screen tv, dvd player and a washing machine. Menton Garavan has its own railway station. From here, Ventimiglia, with its wonderful market, is only one stop away. Monaco is only four stops away. Opposite the studio are two parks: the Jardin Exotique and the Jardin du Pian. This latter park is full of olive trees and from here, it is a gentle stroll to the beach and a Super-U supermarket. (A shopping trolley is provided, if you are not taking a car and don't want to carry groceries!)

We are both graduates in French and wanted to find a property in an area we love. Menton proved ideal and the tranquil location was a big factor in the decision to opt for this particular studio, after an original search including many others in different areas of the town. We chose one where we are happy to spend our own time and where we hope others will also enjoy their holidays.

enjoyed our stay

lovely property. Although a walk up a hill to get to it, this is through a shady olive grove. The area was quiet but within walking distance of the Old Town and the beach. We were able to walk down for fresh bread every morning. Facilities were good and enough for the three of us. It was quite hot at night. Although a fan is provided there is no air conditioning, which we were aware of; having used this property before. Would happily book this property again.

A very pleasant stay.

This is a very nice studio apartment situated high up above Menton. You can walk to the sea and the old town but it is a stiff climb back up! The kitchen is very modern and well equipped, and the sofa bed comfortable although we did struggle to put it up. It is a fairly quiet and attractive neighbourhood. The bathroom is a bit dated but perfectly okay. Menton of course has many restaurants so a wide choice is available. Having the private car park was reassuring. We would have liked to see a visitors' book as recommendations and suggestions are always useful. Altogether a very pleasant stay. Thank you Jim and Clare

Perfect base for a week in the Cote D'Azur

This lovely studio apartment in Menton was a perfect base for my partner and I when we went to the Monaco Grand Prix this year. Amazing value for money, perfectly located for all amenities and only a short walk to Menton Garavan train station which we used daily to get about visiting Monte Carlo, Eze and even crossed the boarder into Italy for a quick trip.

The owners were flexible, friendly and very helpful with regards to the booking and we would definitely book the apartment again.

Wonderful stay in Menton

I had the most amazing week in Menton. The studio was fantastic and met all my needs and was incredibly comfortable. I loved the terrace too and thoroughly enjoyed eating breakfast outside. It is ideally situation with local amenities and is surrounded by the most amazing views. I hope to come back next year. The owners were incredibly helpful and gave me all the information I needed and more. In the studio, there is a huge stack of leaflets and publications on what to do in Menton and neighbouring towns...very helpful!

I would recommend the studio to anyone looking for a holiday in the south of France. It really is a gem tucked away in the beautiful surroundings of Menton. Thank you so much!

A great place to stay...

We stayed in the studio for two weeks this October – our second visit of the year, and about our 6th visit altogether. The studio is a nice space to be in – quite bijou, but it seems to expand on you! There’s a good sized terrace for eating & doing my morning stretches – and catching the sun until it disappears behind the neighbour’s lemon tree in late afternoon. The kitchen’s well equipped, which suits me fine as my partner’s a great cook! But if you do like to eat out there are plenty of good restaurants in town (a 15 minute stroll along the beautiful Boulevard de Garavan).

And what a great location if you love gardens – the studio is right opposite Val Rahmeh (my absolute favourite), a short walk away from the Maria Serena & the Blasco Ibanez gardens, and a few minutes drive from The Hanbury gardens at Mortola - just across the border into Italy – not to be missed!

The beach is a 5 minute walk away – go at 8am for a morning swim with the regulars – so friendly & chatty. And the supermarket is next to the beach.

We always hire a car – it is useful for food shopping & trips into Italy – but otherwise you could get a taxi or bus from the airport & use the excellent railway to get around. (Garavan station is just down the road). So much better for getting around the Cote D’Azur than the car, as I find driving in the South of France rather stressful compared to the quiet country roads where I live!

All in all the studio is a great place to stay – and excellent value.

Excellent location

A peaceful apartment idyllically located between an olive grove and the beach in the beautiful town of Menton. A supermarket is a short walk away; the atmospheric old town fifteen minutes. The apartment is clean and well set out, the bed settees are comfortable, and the modern kitchen is well-stocked with a large refrigerator and efficient cooker and hob. There is hot water for the shower. The sun terrace is spacious enough for dining al fresco or sunbathing. We return every year and have always enjoyed the tranquil ambience of the area and the cosiness and cleanliness of the apartment, finding the owners charming, helpful and approachable. The apartment being so close to the sea, the railway station, restaurants and town, although away from the noise is ideal for a couple or for a couple with two young children.

You can also travel by bus from the airport to Nice station and take the TER (stopping train) to Menton Garavan station, which is about five minutes walk from the studio. Actual travelling time depends on connections : allow about 90 minutes.

Distances:

The Old Town of Menton is a fifteen minutes stroll away. There is a huge variety of restaurants, cafés and shops. The town has many verdant spots with sculptures and sparkling fountains. It also has a Casino. Monte Carlo is close by and it is possible to walk into Italy! The Alps are only about an hour and a half's car journey away.
