About the property

Restored Farmhouse near Curetta and Servigliano, Le Marche - Peaceful Location, Among Hilltop Villages In 'The Golden Triangle' Of Le Marche

Casa Rosamaria is a wonderful 100 year old italian farmhouse which has been restored to a high standard. The house is set in the rolling hillside of Le Marche between the village of Curetta and the historic town of Servigliano, halfway between Macerata and Ascoli Piceno. It offers beautiful views across to the mountains, a peaceful, tucked away location alongside all of the modern facilities including its own 10M swimming pool and full size table tennis table. Indoors there is a well-fitted kitchen and it is tastefully furnished. The house has absolutely stunning views from this great location within the 'golden triangle'. Servigliano, 5 minutes away has bars, restaurants, supermarkets, small shops and all that might be locally required. Santa Vittoria is ten minutes away with bars and restaurants. Beaches 35/40 mins away, offering many safe and enclosed swimming areas suitable for families. The drive to Lake Fiastra is approx. three quarters of an hour and the ski areas likewise. Fermo, with it's famous late-night antique/craft market is 30 mins drive.

About The Owner

We are both teachers with three grown up sons. After many years of family summer holidays in Italy we decided to take a look at Le Marche - an area that we had not looked at - it was love at first sight! Unspoilt, with a little of everything that sums up Italy. Since then all of the family have played a part in the care and upkeep of the house. We all enjoy our time there too. We always return to England a great deal calmer and 'chilled out'. Always.

The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2003

Why The Owner chose Fermo

Our farmhouse was discovered after the joy of several trips spent looking. We loved the rural area around, great eating places and the outdoor life. This love has become part of us and has grown. We continue to look forward to every visit, we have made friends there and hope to move out there semi-permanently at some point in the future.

Casa Rosamaria was a total ruin. It was one of those piles of stones with trees growing through them. The photos at the house evidence this. The skill of local artisans and an excellent architect are demonstrated in the end result. Each year we look to make further improvements. The feedback has made the four years of work to completion worthwhile!

It's been fantastic.

What makes this farmhouse unique

We have many outdoor 'sitting areas' which means that even if you have several people in your party you can enjoy some time quietly with a book or your music!

The pool area is slightly separate from the house. There is also an outdoor sitting area under the pergolas with sofas.

We love art and textiles so you will probably find a selection of art materials and some homely touches around. Some people have fed back that it isn't just a holiday base but more of a home to relax in. With all the mod cons too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Jill,

We are now back in the UK and back to work, it is almost like we have never been away.

I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for opening up the house to us, an amazing place and beautifully restored!

It was an amazing place and we have taken away great memories.

We will definitely be going back!

Fabulous Holiday - unglaublicher Urlaub!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with 7 friends (2 couples, 3 singles) and the house was just perfect. There are so many lovely seating areas; under the fig tree; by the pool, looking at the mountains; on the terrace, with a view over the valley; under the shaded pergola. Always a choice of enjoying company or blissful solitude, and when we all wanted to eat together there was plenty of space for "Italian family" indoor or outdoor dining.

Everything in the house was lovely, comfortable furniture and beds, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, artistic decor - we loved the colourful furniture, paintings and quilts, they suited the house perfectly.

When we could drag ourselves away from the house and pool, there were far too many things to do (we only had one week).

Within one hour we witnessed the spectacle of a large family of wild boar and a host of vivid blue gentians - this was in the Sibillini mountains, on the way to Castelluccio. There were some amazing footpaths here - we shall definitely bring our walking boots next time.

We also visited markets at Communanza and Sarnano, the hill towns of San Ginesio & Urbisaglia and olive and wine tasting at Sant Angelo.

We had 2 wonderful meals at 2 different restaurants in San Vittoria and take-away pizza from Servigliano.

We would thoroughly recommend this idyllic holiday home - we loved every minute of our stay.

The perfect 'escape from it all' house

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter and I holidayed at Casa Rosamaria and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Nestled on a hill it is completely private with no neighbours over looking you.

The house itself is a lovely comfortable family home. I would highly recommend a holiday here if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life stresses and feel the need to have a quiet, peaceful and private family holiday.

The village of Servigliano, only a short drive away, has a charming 'hidden' square through huge arches. It was lovely to sit and enjoy a coffee and 'torta' at one of the cafe's and we took a delicious Pizza back to the house which we bought in a pizzeria off the village square.

We ended up driving around and had a delicious meal in a trattoria in the village of Santa Vittoria and tried a few of the local specialities, our favourite was 'olive d’ascolana' (breaded olives stuffed with spiced meats).

All in all, this is the perfect 'escape from it all' house which I hope to holiday again with my sister and her children as a joint vacation.

After staying here we were inspired to look into restoring our very own Farmhouse.

Beautifully decorated house in private location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for two consequtive fortnight holidays in 2014 and 2015. It is a beutifully restored house with high quality materials, beutifully and personally decorated with lots of color and beutiful handcraft. The kitchen is very well equipped and lots of space in the two fridges to keep cold drinks. There are many comfortable seating areas around the house both indoor and outdoor. The pool is great with diving depth at one end and the area around provide both lots and sun and shelters for shadow. The only disadvantage is that the evening sun drops early behind the trees around the house. Jill and Ted are great hosts who take very well care of their house and guests and we can truly recommend this house for a great Marche holiday.
