Apartment in Kalkan,Turkey - Ideal Location, Few Minutes Walk To Town Centre, Set In Private Complex

This very pretty apartment has its own patio garden area and use of five different pools, one of which sits just outside the apartment. The complex is ideally situated for the centre of town, only a few minutes walk from shops, banks, bars, restaurants and all the delights of the village. The apartment has one double bedroom, and a double sofa bed in the main living room and double doors open from both rooms on to the patio and very pretty garden. It is tastefully furnished throughout, with a fully equipped kitchen, oven and washing machine. WIFI is included. Rental includes a welcome pack, weekly clean, linen change and local English-speaking contact.

Our apartment is co-owned, by Sally and Sue. Sue is married to Sally's brother!

We live near to each other, in south east England, and both work full time. We each have two children, all grown up now, and they are often in Kalkan too!

Why Sally Lockhart chose Lycian & Turquoise Coast

I co-own another, bigger apartment on the same complex and, when this one came up for sale, I just had to have it too! I particularly liked the apartment's patio and garden and I love the fact that it is in the complex, so with access to all the other pools, but is tucked away at one end, off the beaten track, and with a plunge pool almost outside the front door!

What makes this apartment unique

It is wonderful to be so near to the village - no long climbs up the hill or taxi fares to pay - and yet removed from all the hustle and bustle. Everything is near enough to walk to in a couple of minutes and the apartment is equipped to make holiday living as easy as possible.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is air-conditioned and has mosquito screens on windows. Air-conditioning also has hot setting. Large water heater. There is a tv (although Turkish television reception is poor) with a dvd player. WIFI is provided. An I-pod dock and hair dryer are also provided. While not wishing to say no to smokers we do ask, in the interests of all our guests and those of guests in the apartments above, that smoking is kept to a minimum and restricted to outside the apartment and away from the patio garden. Outside: The apartment is set in a beautifully maintained complex and has use of five pools, one large central pool and four smaller and more private (one is directly in front of the apartment, and is rarely used by other guests in the complex). Sunbeds, cushions and a parasol are provided with the apartment. The apartment has a private patio and very pretty garden area with views across the bay and out to sea. Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service: Towels (not beach towels) and all linen provided. Apartment is cleaned once a week, including full linen change. Other: Bedroom has double bed and large wardrobe with hanging and shelf space. Patio area has table and chairs for al fresco dining and small barbecue.

Super and super convenient

A lovely stay. Very nicely decorated and and because of a great guest book all machinery not only worked great but was easy to use. The location is perfect and avoids the steep inclines. Both Sally (owner) and Victoria (local) were very accessible but everything was so easy we didn't have to ask Victoria a thing. Recommended for sure

Lovely self contained Apartment, great location.

Lovely Apartment in the centre of Town, all amenities within walking distance. Nice small private garden, ideal for al fresco dining !! Swimming Pool directly outside the Apartment, handy for those cooling off dips. Great mountain views from Apartment Terrace, especially at sunset. The Apartment is well equipped, kitchen is very generous with work top space. Nice walk in shower in bathroom. Bedroom has plenty of storage space. Will definitely be booking another stay !!

Little gem of an apartment!

Gorgeous, impeccably maintained and clean apartment. The location could not be any better, never the need for a taxi but set back in a quiet road overlooking the sea. The pool is beautiful and in lovely grounds within the complex. A 'must' if you're staying in Kalkan!

Very good locality

This is a lovely clean little one bed apartment situated very close to the old town.Walking into town takes a couple of minutes.As a ground floor apartment the access is easy. Outside the apartment is a small pool very close by and the larger pool is just round the corner.The flat has its own sunbeds with the flat itself being comfortable and with effective air con. Two downsides are no BBC world or TV at all and Chocolate nightclub can sometimes be a little loud at night but neither detracted completely from the charm and practicality of the place. Would come back again and recommend along with Patara Beach

Stunning!

Clean, social and perfect getaway location, we could not have asked for anything more.

The apartment was lovely its definitely a bonus being on the ground floor because you have instant access to the pool and your own patio which was great for bbq's. The apartment itself was beautifully clean and had a lot of space for two weeks worth of "stuff".

Its only a short walk down the hill to the Marina, about 3 minutes, or you can walk across the square into the Old Town. The people in Kalkan are lovely and so helpful.

There is no need for a car at all, Sally (one of the owners) will organize all the transport from the airport and once you are in Kalkan you can just use the Tour services or the local Bus Service (super cheap).

Overall we had a lovely stay in Kalkan and will be coming back to this delightful apartment!

A wonderful apartment in a beautiful setting!

We've just come back from our stay in this lovely little apartment and enjoyed every minute. Kalkan is such an amazing place, we return every year, but this was our first stay in this complex. It is very close to the village so no need for any taxis and the walk is on the flat - very important!!

The apartment itself is fully equipped, beautifully presented and very clean. It was a real advantage being on the ground floor having the patio and the pool right outside the front door. It almost felt like our own private pool as no one else used it while we were there.

We can't wait to come back! Thank you Sally for all your help with the booking :)

Location

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Local pebble beach is 5 - 10 minutes walk from the apartment. Kalkan has a number of beach clubs with all facilities within easy reach. Patara beach (sand) is 20 minutes by local bus. Kaputas beach (shingle) is about 10 minutes by local bus.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Dalaman, 1½-2 hours drive. Please contact us for airport transfers and car hire information. Antalya airport is just over 3 hours by road.

Distances:

Kalkan is surrounded by places of interest, most of which are within an hour's drive. These include Patara, Xanthos and Sydyma, the spectacular Saklikent gorge, and the larger towns of Fethiye and Kas. Visits to Bezirgan, Islamlar (for the trout farms and an excellent lunch!), Myra (birthplace of St Nicholas), Olu Deniz and Kayakoy are all easily managed in a day.

Further Details:

Kalkan has developed from a small fishing harbour and, despite its growth, retains its charm and village atmosphere. There are several banks with ATM, a post office and a choice of supermarkets in which English goods are increasingly available. The Thursday market - for fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and cheese or for clothing, household goods and accessories - is a must! Kalkan's reputation for excellent food is well-deserved and the choice is enormous - even the take-aways are delicious and nutritious.

The apartment will be available by 4.00 pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 12.00 noon on the day of your departure. It may be possible to arrive earlier or to stay later than this; please check in advance.
