The Garden Cottage apartment is a peaceful home from home. It is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a holiday or longer stay. Perfect for romantic breaks, honeymoons and is a relaxing retreat from the outside world. Can accommodate a baby or child also. As enjoyable during the winter months when the sun lounge and terrace benefit from the Costa del Sol winter sun. It has a sun lounge with large picture windows looking on to the garden and patio doors to it´s own private terrace and garden. Large sofa and round dining table (seats 4). Sony TV/video with UK satellite and stereo equipment. Cable or WiFi internet included. Washing m/c, hairdryer, ironing facilities. The large 1 bedroom has superking or twin beds and quality cotton bed linen. The separate bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink, WC, washing machine. Backing onto the protected Las Dunas Nature Reserve with unspoiled views of dunes and sea, just moments walk to the beach through nature to Las Dunas de Artola and Cabopino beach and marina, on scenic raised wooden walkways. A good choice of local beach bars and restaurants. The self contained 1 bed Patio Room Apartment guests enjoy relaxing on the roof sun terrace with 360 deg views of mountains and sea, perfect for sunbathing and dreaming the day away. The Garden Cottage with its own private sun terrace and garden has views of garden, dunes and sea. A few moments walk to beautifull Cabopino Marina, with many fish restaurants, bars, beach and water sports. 15 minutes drive to Marbella centre. The perfect place to relax, unwind and restore.

About Jane Gould

I am lucky enough to be the resident owner here at 'Casa Madden'. I live here all year round, together with a few 4 footed best friends. I really enjoy welcoming guests to the house. It's great to see how much people relax here and enjoy the garden, the natural surroundings and of course, the local scenic wooden dune walkways and beaches. I am always on hand to share local info about restaurants, travel etc so guests get the most from their stay. I regularly hear things like 'I wish we were staying longer' and 'we will be back!' which really says it all.

The first time I entered 'Casa Madden' I just knew I had to make it mine - it was love and I was spellbound. Dilapidated and in need of much care but after nine months of refurbishment work the first guests arrived and ever since, everyone who has stayed, has enjoyed the same 'Casa Madden' magic that I felt that first day. Set amongst pines with nothing but nature and the Mediterranean Sea to look at, no buildings to spoil the view and the wonderful mountains behind - it has the 'wow' factor. The garden has a tropical feel and blends into the natural surroundings here. It's so peaceful and uplifting - quite addictive really!

What makes this apartment unique

If you want to really 'chill' and enjoy time out in a lovely home next to nature and the beach yet be in easy reach of Marbella and walking distance to local Cabopino marina with great choice of local restaurants then 'Casa Madden' is for you. This is a real paradise that you may want to keep a secret. The newly completed scenic wooden walkways through the dunes to the local beach are a plus and as on site owner I am discreetly at hand to help with local knowledge questions.

A very well kept secret, that deserves to be shared. It's a beautifully kept apartment that feels homely and holiday like at the same time. From the beautiful lavender fragranced cotton bed sheets to the three eating areas, to the luscious garden views, not to mention the view over the dunes to Morocco - everything is wonderful, and you will not be disappointed. Quite possibly the nicest bit of the coast! Easy access to restaurants,beach, and walkways that go indie miles. And perfect for sight seeing central base too. Once you've been, you'll definitely want to go back! Loved it, Thank you.

Super Quartier, sauber und toll gelegen!

Unser Urlaub im Casa Maddden hat uns sehr gefallen. Die Beschreibung der Eigentümer ist völlig korrekt. Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe eingerichtet, es fehlte uns bei unserem langen Aufenthalt (2 Monate) an nichts. Das Quartier war super sauber und sehr gepflegt. Das Bad, die Küche, alles war sauber! Jane gab uns viele Tipps zu Ausflugszielen und zu Gaststätten in denen man lecker und auch mal typisch spanisch essen konnte.

Das Casa Madden ist direkt am Rande eines Naturparks gelegen so waren wir nach einem kurzen Spaziergang über die Dünen an dem schönen Sandstrand Playa Cabopino. Die Eigentümer hatten sogar transportable Sonnenschirme für uns. Besonders wenn man gern am Strand spazieren geht oder Joggt (Holzsteg über 6km nach La Cala De Mijas direkt am Meer entlang) ist das Quartier ideal gelegen. Auch nach Marbella kann man gut am Strand entlang laufen (ca 13km) . Für den Rückweg haben wir dann allerdings meist den Bus M220 genutzt (1,65€). Für einen faulen Tag ist die Sonnenterrasse des Hauses (mit Sonnenschirmen) super nutzbar!

Das Kabelfernsehen ist englischsprachig, es sind Film- DVD’s für den DVD-Recorder vorhanden.

Das Casa Madden empfehlen wir gerne weiter!

A gem of a spot in Artola

We recently spent a relaxing week at this magical spot. The garden cottage is bright, airy, sunny and very comfortable and the facilities are very well equipped. It's accessibility to the beach and other amenities could not be better and Jane is a fabulous host - not to mention the darling furries! I highly recommend this property for numerous reasons and am looking forward to our next visit... I still dream of lying in bed watching the sunsets. Thank you Jane, Beau, Bella and the 'girls' for a wonderful holiday. xxxx

Perfect Stay

Sehr schönes Appartment in Strandnähe (keine 5 Minuten zu Fuß) hervorragend für einen erholsamen Urlaub mit 2 Personen +Hund in einem kleinen Wohngebiet mit Privathäusern ! (ohne Touristenrummel und Bettenburgen! )

Wir waren nun schon zum zweiten mal zu Gast bei Jane und können diese Unterkunft nur weiter empfehlen.

Unser Hund hatte auch jede Menge Spaß mit den beiden Vierbeinern von Jane

Supermarkt und tolle Restaurants innerhalb 5 min. zu erreichen.

Disappointed in the property, the management and the total rental experience.

We did not enjoy our 6 night stay for the following reasons:

1. The promised Wi-Fi did not work.

2. The promised TV did not work.

3. Contrary to the tenor of the property's description as one having direct and easy access to the dunes and beach from a secluded and private quiet beach cottage, we found it to be attached to the owner's personal residence and an additional apartment with a shared courtyard. There was very little privacy and no available direct access to the beach. Further, in addition to the numerous deferred maintenance issues we found, there was a strong recurring odor in both the kitchen and bathroom. On two occasions, the owner entered the unit without notification and left the unit open to our personal valuables. We have been renting similar accommodations for many years and find this experience unacceptable. We do not recommend this rental.

Owner's Response: I am pleased to respond to your review. Firstly, you were provided with the same level of service and help and assistance that all our guests receive. You certainly appeared to be enjoying your stay and expressed to me and my father, that you found it so peaceful and relaxing it was ´hard to get out´ and that you loved the area in general. You also thanked me for the gift of homemade marmalade. Our listing does not state that there is automatic dune access via the back gate, although my father kindly showed you how to use the garden gate exit securely. We have no problem with this. There are a choice of access opportunities to the dune area from the quiet front street. The rental property layout is accurately described in our listing. Regarding room odours, it was noted that no windows or doors were opened by you at any time during your stay. Machine loads of wet laundry were visable hanging from the lounge curtain rail inside the apartment, in spite of good weather conditions and choice of outside drying equipment provided. I was so concerned at the level of damp that was visible from the outside that I decided it was vital to take action to air the apartment. I prefer not enter when guests are in residence, except on invitation or for any emergency repairs. Alarmingly I found all the windows running with damp and the ceiling going green. The lights were also left on at all times for six days. At the point of departure you presented a list of items which you said were not working. At no point during your stay did you ask me to check anything/advise me that anything was not functioning. Upon receipt of your list of complaints I offered to immediately check the items you mentioned. I found it odd when you insisted that you did not want the apartment checked. My mistake, as all these items were subsequently found to be in perfect working order. You had not been able to make the balance of payment due to Owners Direct, due to your difficulty with It is my belief that you are a career complainers, which became obvious when, as you were ready to depart, you attempted to blackmail me with the threat of a bad online review unless I refunded cash to you! All things considered I found your behaviour and attitude unattractive and your honesty in question. I somehow doubt that I am the first home owner to discover this.

Casa Madden: Relaxing holidays in quiet villa environment on Costa del Sol

The garden cottage is homily and airy with roof and garden terrace, as Jane has described it, well equipped not only with barbecue and kitchen facilities but also sun beds, umbrellas and towels to enjoy most relaxing days at Artola natural beach, just behind the dunes in front of the cottage. The neighbourhood is a quite villa "urbanizacion" area with few supermarket facilities and bus stops in walking distance with regular service to bigger shopping areas, Marbella and Fuengirola.

Jane ensured that we enjoyed the stay at Casa Madden 100%.

Casa Madden is a very special place in a peacefull wooded area with outstanding unspoiled sea views. It borders onto a natural reserve with scenic walkways over the dunes to the beach. There are two private self contained apartments here. Peaceful and relaxing. Onsite owner to help and advise. Just 12 mins to pretty Marbella old town, great tapas bars and restaurants.

Local Cabopino Marina family beach is just a few minutes walk with good swimming and water sports. Natural Las Dunas Beach just moments away. Great choice of local restaurants and beach bars all within walking distance.

We are just 35 minutes by road from Malaga airport

A choice of great destinations for day and half day trips such as Mijas Pueblo, scenic Ronda, Gibraltar, Malaga, Cadiz etc
