About the Owner

My name is Gerald, I am friendly & caring, also very passionate about freshly cooked food & especially a fan of Turkish cuisine.

I have a keen interest in the local history of the area, especially the period before Byzantium, ancient Rome and Greece. The Lycians built the tombs into the cliff face (why is the largest tomb only half finished?)

Or why is the old harbour wall at Kaunos (originally a Karian port) several metres above the water surface now? Fascinating don't you think?

I also appreciate the way the delicate balance between nature & mankind has been maintained in the Dalyan area - long may this continue.

Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

Thought i'd drop you a quick message to tell you what a lovely time we had at your villa. A stunning town, with so much to do & so many lovely people & most amazing places to & visit. We got a lot done, & thanks so much for your recommendations, which were so good in fact, that I proposed to Lei at Kaunos under an olive tree surrounded by the most beautiful views.

Thanks again & we hope to visit again soon.

All the best. Pete Denney - April/May 2014

We had such a fantastic holiday at your apartment last summer that we would like to look to book to go there again if possible for 2015.

Huge Clean Appartment, Returning Guests

  • 5 of 5

I would like to tell anyone thinking of booking this huge Appartment that they found a great place to stay. Firstly the owner who is English is easy to communicate with and very flexible, he offers airport pickups and gives a good level of support for you're visit. On arriving at the property you will find that it is a lovely street with a great driveway, it's far enough out of town to give a peaceful stay but a lively stroll into town passing the town bakery. The property has its own entrance but if you rent the downstairs as well, as we have done before you can turn it into one huge house as there is a central locking access door but the bonus of joining the 2 by opening the door. The aircon is nice and quite and the place was lovely and clean. The best thing about this property is that it isn't striped bare of all the essentials when guests leave, this is a really helpful, there's nothing worse than arriving at a property and everything is removed, you will be surprised how nanny usual thigs are there. The pool was always kept very clean which is important to me. We felt as a family holday this is one of the best places we have stayed in dalyan, we have been in b&b and 5star in dalyan , but this place provides great value for money, great flexibility and lot of peace and tranquility away from maids knocking you out of your bed every day, we now like to hire a car to drive from the airport it's onl a 25 min drive and if you hire from dalyan they bring you the car to the airport so you don't have to even drive. Cannot wait for my next trip here, I would recommend this property and this wonderful village

Fantastic Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We visited in April and it was clearly not yet the start of the tourist season as town was relatively quiet and lots of maintenance was being completed on hotels, swimming pools being filled etc. However this suited us well.

The apartment has the best of both worlds. It is very convenient for restaurants/bar/shops that are a short walk away (5 mins) but far enough away to not be disturbed by these as the apartment is in a leafy, quiet lovely neighbourhood.

From my first enquiry owner Gerald was very helpful and this continued throughout my holiday. Taxis were arranged via the owner without any issue and taxi was ready and waiting at the airport for us and arrived promptly at the end of the holiday as arranged.

Immediately we arrived at the accommodation we felt at home, it is finished to a good standard and there is almost everything in the apartment that you need. I was amazed to find a garlic crusher in the kitchen when i needed it ;)

There are three balconies which we enjoyed sitting on.

The swimming pool is a lovely size and felt very tranquil with views of the hills.

I normally like to visit different places and don't stay in the same place twice however I would happily return to stay here.

great apartment

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we'd decided to book this apartmnet the owner was very attentive and made sure we had as much information as he could to help us prepare for our first trip to Turkey. We were met as promised at the airport and at the apartment and everyone made us feel very welcome. The apartment was clean and well stocked. We had all we needed for cooking etc. The town was a few minutes walk away with a great selection of bars and restaurants and grocery stores. Money changing was easy as we had been told where to go. Lots of places offering excusions etc and we loved having the pool. Would highly recommend this property.

From the Owner

Fell in love with Dalyan many years ago and kept coming back time after time. There are still many local Dalyan families living and working in the area which helps maintain a very friendly village atmosphere. Nomadoasis is situated in a quiet residential area of Dalyan facing southwest with a lovely off shore breeze. We are very lucky to be located in a designated conservation area, with a unique Eco water network of sea, water reed delta, rivers and fresh water Lake Koycegiz, which are blessed with an abundance of beautiful wild life and plant life. Love the fact that Kaunos is still undergoing a 'Time Team' dig, the amphitheatre also hosts the occasional `theatrical gig`! There are several live acoustic music bars & good restaurants with indigenous groovy music vibes, near by as well.

Activity and Interests

Iztuzu or Turtle beach as it also known, 6km in length, is one of the few remaining nesting grounds of the Loggerhead Turtle. It is at the forefront of Dalyan being an area of outstanding natural beauty and is a designated conservation area. It is notable that Captain June with the help of ‘Greenpeace’ helped to establish this in the early 1980`s. Take the local minibus (12 mins travel), walk to the other end of the beach and catch a local ‘cooperative’ boat back to Dalyan, job done!

Dalaman's new all singing, all dancing airport, can be reached by competitively priced charter flights from most UK regional airports. Transfer time 35 mins. Yucel can arrange this locally from Dalyan for you, at £25 - £30 each way.

Please note:- There is a 20$ (£14) sterling entry visa charge (per person) for maximum 90 days duration, valid for 180 days to all U.K. citizens entering Turkey, which now needs to be done on line well before you travel.

Car hire is not essential in Dalyan area.

Dalyan is a great place to just cruise around on a bicycle. 3 mins walk away, there is a recently new bakery with warm bread & pastries all morning. Take in all the sights and sounds of the shops, restaurants, bars. By the river see ducklings, fish, a glimpse of a fresh water Turtle and lake side wildlife of this fascinating unspoiled eco-water network.

Further Details:

Dalyan village is a very relaxed and safe holiday destination for the younger energetic and sporty to the more mature wildlife lover and history enthusiast. A variety of boat trips (river, lake or sea, day or night), mud bathing, fishing, jeep safari, swimming, snorkeling, diving, canoeing, white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, parasailing, micro lighting, bird watching, turtle watching, discovering Lycian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman history and ruins, horse riding etc. The cuisine is surprisingly sophisticated but healthy and reasonably priced. Dining in one of the riverside restaurants opposite the flood lit Lycian rock tombs is a truly magical setting for an evening meal. The Saturday market is good fun if you fancy a piece of the action. Plus there are lots of quality carpet, material, jewellery, spice-nuts-honey, fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer, baker, patisserie and the odd supermarket shop, all in walking distance of Nomadoasis. Not to mention several cash points. For the boys - an early morning visit to your favourite barber for a haircut, shave and massage will set you up for the day, at about (cost £4), bargain! For nightlife - the ‘Groovy Dudes’ amongst you, there are also several live music bars, plus a few more pumping out some funky reggae and ska and traditional Turkish sounds in Dalyan centre. For the more experienced explorer on mountain bike, take coastal trails toward Fethiye to the hidden lost Lycian-Greek-Roman site of Cadianda or onwards to Tlos, Xanthos, Letoon and Patara. For the really true adventurer, the ultimate adrenaline rush is to bike up Baba Dag mountain (2000m summit) then Parasail off the peak, winding your way like an eagle on to beautiful Olu Deniz beach, to collect your bike and take a long cold drink, then onwards to the ghost town of Kaya Koy. All of the above is just a snap shot of what is on offer in this fascinating part of the world.
