Westward Ho! Devon. Relax whilst waves lap below, play on the long sandy beach,surf,walk,explore rock pools

Spectacular location right on the sea in Westward Ho ! Unobstructed views of the long sandy beach, the bay and Lundy Island. At high tide, the sea laps on the rocks below the balcony, creating relaxing sounds to help you unwind and giving a feeling of being on a boat. The 5 star quality of the apartment can be enjoyed by all. There is many activities locally for all ages to enjoy. For families with young children, you are next to rock-pools, the outdoor sea pool, 5 mins walk from the long sandy beach and there is the Big Sheep adventure centre 5 minutes away in the car. For older children, they can take surf lessons on the beach, bike riding on the Tarka Trail, wake boarding near Clovelly, or compete in the adventure course 5 mins away. For golfers, the links course is the oldest golf club in England and is 5 minutes in the car. The surf lessons on the beach last 2 to 3 hours and they provide all the necessary equipment- wet suits, boards and instructions. Westward Ho is a small village but has 3 mini markets including Tesco Express, there is a choice of 5 or 6 restaurants to eat and also several pubs. For walking,the South West Coast path passes right outside the apartment, walk for several miles on spectacular cliff walks towards Bucks Mill. A short ride in a car will take you to Appledore or Clovelly, two quaint fishing villages with lots of character.

The apartment has 3 bedrooms: 1 antique king size, 1 antique double and adult size bunks. The balcony overlooking the sea stretches in front of the living area and the main bedroom. There is an ensuite to the main bedroom with a shower and also a separate bathroom with a bath and over shower. The kitchen is fully fitted and is 5 Star independently rated by VisitBritain. There is separate utility room with washing machine, freezer and dryer. The balcony wall forms part of the sea wall, so you can imagine you have an unobstructed views of the sea. The balcony is about 10 metres and is accessed from the living area and the master bedroom. There are several comfy seats provided on the balcony to relax and enjoy the sunset.

Everything is all inclusive in our Booking Fee: towels, laundry, electricity.

About Caroline and Stephen

SeaDreams is owned by Stephen and Caroline. We do not use an Agency to market our property. So prospective holiday makers deal directly with ourselves, and we can talk to you during your stay as there is a telephone in the apartment.

We live in Northamptonshire and try to get down to SeaDreams as much as we can - we love it.

We use a local housekeeper to manage our change overs and she is excellent.

Why Caroline and Stephen chose Westward Ho!

We first went to North Devon in 2000, loved the place immediately. We visited for the next two years and bought our first holiday property near Clovelly. We discovered Nassau Court whilst on a day out to Westward Ho. On entering the apartment we were bowled over with closeness to the sea and the privacy of having no one in front of you, except the sea.

We have rented Seadreams since 2007 and the reviews in our guest book match our own first experience - Wow !

What makes this apartment unique

SeaDreams is 5 minutes walk along the promenade to get to the dentre of Westward Ho! where there are a number of good eating places and pubs.

Notes:
No Pets are allowed. No Smoking allowed anywhere in the apartment or balcony. No barbecues on the balcony. No extra charges for heating. Each room is thermostatically controlled and there is under-floor heating to the bathroom and en-suite. Secure car park for 1 car. Westward Ho's beach is superb for bucket and spade adventures as it is an expansive sandy beach. There are 6 fold away picnic chairs, cool box and a wind shield provided.

Fabulous apartment

Fabulous apartment, everything you needed for comfort and my word it was comfortable. Stunning sea views, we had some great walks. To walk along the beach and back to the apartment on christmas day for christmas fare, very enjoyable indeed. Would love to stay again. Thankyou Jennifer & Alan Blick

A GREAT PLACE TO STAY

This is a ground floor apartment in a block that has clearly been finished to a high standard. It comes with a designated parking space (accessed through a coded security gate) and it is on the same level as the car park so no lifts and no stairs - easy! The apartment is very clean, comfortable and well equipped (as you would expect for a 5 Star) but what makes it stand out is the quality of the furniture, linen and general equipment provided. The owners have thought of everything their guests could need during their stay and it really feels like a home from home rather than a furnished holiday let. Yes, those views are as good as all the pictures but they don't do justice to the wonderful sound of the sea!

We had hoped to spend part of the week relaxing on the balcony taking in the view and paddling in the sea but unfortunately this wasn't to be as the weather was terrible all week!! Having said that, we were lucky to see one sunset which was beautiful and we also witnessed some very rough seas during the week which we enjoyed watching.

There's plenty to do in Devon when it's wet and windy but we found that we were travelling around 1 - 1.5 hours each way to visit stately homes, steam railways, the fairground museum and various other 'indoor' attractions - all well worth it by the way!! We did travel up and down the North Devon coast and there are some great beaches, villages and towns that are well worth a visit. If it's not raining, there's plenty to do locally although we imagine it would be very busy during the main holiday season.

This was our first visit to the area and we'd love to return in the future. When we do, we're looking forward to a second stay at this apartment.

We had no problems communicating with the owners - they provided everything we needed to know and the apartment has a comprehesive file of information.

All in all, highly recommended!

Beautiful apartment with stunning sea views

The apartment was perfect, just as described with every convenience you could need. It was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The best part on arrival is the reveal of the most stunning sea views as you raise the storm shutters!

Communications prior to our stay were excellent and timely making arrival and departure stress free.

We can't wait to go back to enjoy more of those mesmerising views! We would, and have, happily recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Amazing apartment and view

The apartment was perfect and the view of the sea and sunrises and sunsets were stunning, we got up at 4.30am just to sit on the balcony with a cup of tea and watch the sun rise!

We can't wait to go back, just to sit and watch the sea so close is very relaxing.

Coast/Beach:

You are on the waterfront - you could not get any closer. Westward Ho is a blue flag sandy beach with lots of room for building sand castles, playing games and swimming in either the sea of the sea-water pool. There is also a surf school on the beach offerring lessons for beginners or if you just want to polish your technique.

Coastal Walks:

The South West Coast Path is immediately outside the apartment, walk West towards Bucks Mill and East around Westward Ho Burrows and onto Appledore.

Places to Eat:

Plenty of places to eat are close to hand. There is a choice of 7 restaurants within 5 minutes walk, so no need to drive the car. The Pier House with a spectacular view of the sea, good range of food. Morans is a high quality Thai and English restaurant. 2 pizza restaurants, 2 pubs doing homefare and a Carvery.

Attractions:

The Big Sheep theme park is 5 mins drive and is a great whole day out for younger children. Next to it is an adventure centre for older children featuring high wire walking and assault course. Appledor is also 5 mins away in a car, this is a quaint fishing village with narrow streets and a promenade, evening pub entertainment.

Travel:

Nearest airports are either Newquay, Exeter or Bristol. Westward Ho is just less than 2 hours from Bristol in the car. By train from London to Barnstaple, changing at Exeter, and then 10 minutes from Barnstaple railway station in a taxi or there is a regular bus during the day.

Distances:

Westward Ho shops are less than 5 minutes walk. There is plenty of choice of restaurants and tea shops in Westward Ho: Morans (Thai food), Blue and Green (Pizza and bistro), The Pier House (Bistro menu), Country Cousins (Carvery), Italian cafe, Tea on the green.

Bideford is 5 minutes away in the car, so is the Atlantic Village shopping centre. Barnstaple is 10 to 15 minutes away

Further Details:

Westward Ho has a Tesco Express and a Co-op convenience mini-market, post office, chemist, butchers, bakery, surfing shop, several tea shops and a bistro restaurant.
