Village House in Colonia de San Pere, Mallorca - Peaceful Village, Roof Terrace with Sea and Mountain Views, 5 mins Walk to Beach

Recently built house with brand new fixtures and furnishings. Roof terrace with views of sea and mountains consists of BBQ, table, chairs and sunloungers making it ideal for relaxing and alfresco dining and watching the spectacular sun sets. Large open plan lounge/diner leads onto ground floor private enclosed courtyard also with furniture. Situated at the eastern end of the Bay of Alcudia, the village of Colonia San Pere is an area of the island that has remained almost unspoilt. This delightful fishing village features a small yachting harbour, shops and supermarket, church, bank, bars and restaurants. Nearby there are rocky cliffs, isolated beaches with fine white sand, idyllic walking trails and lots of sporting facilities. The ancient market town of Arta is just 10 minutes' drive away. It is ideal for small children with a safe beach and pedestrianised sea-front walkway. The area is also very popular with walkers and cyclists and the house has a secure area to store bikes.

Notes on accommodation: Integral staircase leads to roof terrace with excellent views over the bay of Alcudia. The house is fully air conditioned (hot and cold). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included but we request that guests provide their own beach towels. The property will be cleaned prior to your arrival and on your departure. If cleaning is required during stay, this can be arranged and paid for locally.

Perfect holiday

Colonia de Sant Pere is a delightful, quiet village and is perfect for a family holiday. The village is tucked away and has escaped the development of its neighbours, yet it is a good base from which to explore the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Arta on market day and a visit to Pollensa in temperatures of 40 degrees! A hire car would definitely be required as the village is off the main roads and is over an hour from Palma Airport.

Colonia de Sant Pere has its own small supermarkets with very friendly staff and we had no need to visit larger towns to obtain supplies. There is a bakery and there are a number of good restaurants, all situated on the promenade overlooking the sea. We enjoyed some excellent meals and the waiting staff were always very friendly and polite. Del Nautica restaurant towards the end of the promenade was especially good.

While we stayed in Colonia de Sant Pere there were various local celebrations in the main square and there was a real community feel. They seemed to be well supported by all ages within the village and they appeared to be very happy occasions.

The villa itself was very comfortable and clean, had modern facilities and there was air conditioning in every room, which was a necessity. The description of the house was accurate and was perfect for a family with teenagers. The 360 degree views from the rooftop terrace were magnificent - towards the sea to the front and onto mountains behind the villa. Standing on the roof terrace as the sun went down was particularly beautiful.

Sant Colonia has its own small harbour and a beach which was always clean and never crowded, even though we visited at the height of the season in August. The promenade stretches along the sea front and it was lovely to walk along here late in the evening when the temperature had dropped a little.

When we first saw the house advertised we contacted the owner by telephone and thereafter corresponded by email. All of our queries were answered promptly and the booking experience was very smooth.

I have recommended this villa for families with young children. My only caveat would be that there are stone stairs which could be an issue for very small children.

I would definitely recommend both this villa and the village itself for a holiday and in fact would love to return again myself to the same place. We had a wonderful holiday.
