About Francesca

Gloria and Francesca: our life styles and experiences are very different, and thanks to this "mixed blessing" at beginning of the nineties with our husbands we decided to embark on our incredible adventure that has brought new life to our Mulino di Rimaggio. Passionately in love with Tuscany, enthusiastic about its history and territory and ready to share our knowledge with you so that you can have your own special memories of our mill and its surroundings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Close your eyes and dream of an ideal Tuscan setting: At the end of an unpaved road there’s a mill surrounded by vineyards and trees, a stream flowing behind it, an inviting pool in the sun to relax in, and way up perched on the hill, is an ancient town overlooking it all. These visual delights greeted us when we arrived and at the Mill, Mulino di Rimaggio. And, we were further pleased to meet the most delightful owners and hosts, Francesca, Roberto, and Gloria, who went out of their way to greet us, provide us with a welcoming bottle of wine as well as basic provisions, and took the time to sit and chat and tell us all about the area and the history of the mill. The Hayloft was comfortable, clean and we wanted for nothing. My husband, our friends, and I have rented houses around the world and can truly say that staying at the Mill for a week was one of the most wonderful experiences we have had. Also, thank you Francesca for the wonderful tour and Roberto for your charming company.

Beautiful Tuscan Setting. Wonderful Owners

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place and more importantly what wonderful people. The owners (Francesca, Gloria & Antonio) made staying at 'Mulino di Rimaggio' like staying at a friends house. The welcome is so warm, nothing is too much trouble, and having "friends' to pass on recommendations for places to visit - shops, towns, walks - made a huge difference to our holiday experience. The property to extremely well kept and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful Tuscan setting surrounded by Chianti vineyards and olive groves nestled into a peaceful valley. The swimming pool is a joy and very big too and Antonio came daily to clean and check all was well with the pool. We shall certainly be back and have very happily recommended 'Mulino di Rimaggio' to all our friends and family.

Owner's Response: Since the beginning, about 10 years ago, we have decided to considers our clients "guests" . We have worked so hard in the renovation of the mill and we were very proud of the result..... Now we cannot use it only commercially, it is our home ! Gloria and Antonio, who live in the area, take care of the place and are always ready to help our guests, I take care of their welcome at the arrival, and living in Florence and, having been a tourist guide, I am always happy to guide them in the visit of the city or booking the tickets for the most crowded museums. We have some families that come back almost every year and we consider it our success.

Beautiful Tuscan mill

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a fabulous stay in the Millstones apartment at Mulino di Rimaggio in August 2015 with our three children (aged 12, 10 and 8).

The property is an old mill which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored by the owners. Without a doubt the owners, Francesca and Roberto and Gloria and Antonio, are exceptionally gracious hosts. Our stay was made very special thanks to their kindness and attention. Nothing was too much trouble. Among other things, Francesca and Roberto greeted us warmly on arrival and showed us our accommodation. Francesca and Gloria offered sightseeing tips and restaurant recommendations. Francesca gave us an impromptu tour of Florence, certainly a highlight of our visit. We were quickly rescued by Gloria and Antonio having managed to drive our car into a ditch on the way out to dinner one evening.

Having looked at the online photographs and website, the property certainly lived up to our expectations. The Mulino is located within easy reach of Florence, Siena and Arezzo as well as may other beautiful Tuscan towns and villages. Our apartment was the middle of three but still very private with a lovely outside dining area. The pool and gardens are definitely worth mentioning. The pool, set in well-tended herb filled gardens, is a real highlight and a great place to relax after a morning spent sightseeing.

We can only say another big thank you to Francesca and Roberto and Gloria and Antonio for making our stay so special. All in all the Mulino is a great spot for any Tuscan family holiday and would make an excellent venue for a big family gathering if all three apartments were booked together. We hope to return one day.

Clevegglia, Tuscany

Paradise on Earth

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful place for a Tuscan adventure, peace and quiet and a lovely pool if you want to relax, but plenty of places to see, architecture, art vineyards are abundant in this area and Francesca and Roberto, Gloria and Antonio are just the nicest people, always on the end of the phone for advice or support if you need it. The hayloft is great if you go with a friend and like a bit of personal space . One bit of advice, if you are susceptible to insect bites take vit B tabs before you go and take a strong anti-repellent .

Owner's Response: Each apartment has its own personality and, Yes, the Hay-Loft is perfect for two couples or friends that want to have more privacy. The rural atmosphere can offer a sense of retreat when you are at home, but in few minutes driving you can be in the world of Tuscany ! Jacqui you are right, vit B for some days before coming and a good insect repellent can be useful for those "like me" that are susceptible to mosquitos. Unfortunately this is the annoying side of the Tuscan country life !!

We spend a very relaxing two weeks at the mill. The pool was perfect for the children to play, the weather was fantastic to relax in, the apartment was ideal for the 7 of us and the pizza oven was a great adventure to explore. Although the mill is rather remote, we did take a number of very enjoyable trips out. The highlights were a day in Arrezo, a walk in the mountains which included swimming in the river (big hit!) and discovering the delicious local food. Francesca, Roberto, Gloria and Antonio were all very kind and welcoming hosts. One day Francesca even taught the children how to make Tiramisu! Thank you for such a wonderful summer - we hope to see you again sometime.

Owner's Response: Tuscany is a region of Italy with a great variety of landscapes, from the Appenines mountaines with the National Park of Casentino to the thermal baths to the cost. The cities of art are within an hour driving from the Mulino as well the wineries or the smaller towns where you can find unexpected treasure of art or nature.
