excellent and love kalkan

  • 5 of 5

This is our 10th time in turkey in different apart of the country. We came to kalkan in the year 2002/2003 we fell in love with the place. About four years ago 2012

my Husband said he would not go any where unless i found a villa with a pool.

So here i am writing this; The villa is ever thing you want spotless clean tidy

not to far too town 10/15 minutes walk, but get a taxi back as it up hill and taxi's are cheap about 15 turkish lira. The restaurants are very good always make you feel welcome, and the staff always get to know you. The Supermarkets have everthing you need and the weekly market on Thursday.

Kalkan is about 1-11/2 hours away from Dalaman, you can either get a taxi or hire a car.

I would just like to thank Liz for the villa as it what we have been looking for

a relaxing holiday can not wait until September 2016 when we will be back.

from Sue.

Home from home

This was our 6th time in Kalkan but the first time at Villa Koza. It is a lovely place and the photographs don't do it justice. Villa Koza is in a fantastic position, high above the town in a very quiet area. Omar the pool boy comes twice a day and the sun loungers and parasols are made ready for you every morning and tidied away at night! Omar also brings up water refills for you if you ask him, which is very helpful!

Being high above the town means there is a steep walk back, but it is graduated so not really too bad. You certainly burn off the calories from the evening meal, but if you don't fancy walking, there are numerous taxis to take you home at very reasonable rates.

Liz was very accommodating to us ; our flight times were such that we arrived late in the evening and the return flight was late as well and she quite happily let us stay in the villa on our last day until we left for the airport at 6.30pm. This was much appreciated, thank you Liz!

All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa Koza to anyone visiting Kalkan, which is a truly lovely place with wonderful people and loads of wonderful restaurants. Our favourites are Alternatif and Baharat and we have never had a bad meal.

Don't hesitate, book Villa Koza for your stay in Kalkan and then look forward to a truly wonderful holiday.

Well presented villa

  • 4 of 5

Our third visit and already booked for next year. Kalkan is a great town to stay and Villa Koza is a well equipped villa with a very spacious pool area. It's an interesting walk down to the town but a bit steep on the way back. However, taxis are cheap and plentiful and available from the harbour after an evening meal and drink!

The local hotel, Samira, serves good meals if want to stay local for an evening and their Turkish night is good fun. You can also just go there for a drink if you want some company.

I would suggest hiring a car if staying at Villa Koza but you can get groceries delivered or just use taxis. A trip up into the Taurus Mountains is very interesting and the next town Kas is also worth a visit.

We love Kalkan

  • 5 of 5

The villa was great, even better than described. It was extremely well equipped, very clean and the location quiet. We had a hire car which was essential as the villa is a little way from the town. We have visited Kalkan several times and would book this villa again. The pool was well positioned so it got the sun most of the day. Liz the owner was very helpful and responded very quickly to any enquiries. Kalkan is a great centre for sightseeing and loads of excellent places to eat. We love the friendly hospitable welcome we always receive when we visit.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind review. We love to have repeat guests as it shows how much they enjoyed staying at Villa Koza and visiting Kalkan town. Car hire is nice so that you can visit all the other attractions that the region has to offer but is not essential as it is a pleasant walk to the town and there are plenty of taxis to bring you back after an evening out in Kalkan. We look forward to being of service to you in the future.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

It is approx 10 mins walk to the town of Kalkan where there are numerous excellent restaurants and bars. There is a harbour and the beach which is perfect for swimming. Guests have the full use of the Samira hotel/apartments situated just 2 mins walk from the villa which boasts the largest swimming pool in Kalkan with children’s area including pool table etc. There is a bar and restaurant situated in the pool area of the hotel.

Dalaman is the nearest airport and is approx 1½ hour drive from the villa. Transfers can be arranged if required at a cost payable localy. Car hire is not essential but is advised if guests wish to visit the many interesting archaeological sites around the area. Dolmus buses are available but it is always more convenient to visit other beaches and towns or villages in the mountains with your own transport. Car hire can be arranged if required.

Kas is a pretty harbour situated approx 20 min drive from Kalkan and is well worth a visit. Patara beach is a beautiful white sand beach which extends for miles, perfect for swimming with refreshment facilities; it is situated approx 20 min drive from Kalkan. The nearest large town is Fethiye with a wonderful harbour, restaurants and shops. It is approx 1 hour drive from Kalkan but well worth seeing and incorporating a visit to the 'deserted village'.

Further Details:

A comprehensive folder can be found in the villa detailing all the places of local interest and information on local supermarkets and banks etc. This folder also includes information on all the appliances and helpful hints to help you settle in and enjoy your holiday in the villa more quickly. A welcome pack will be provided to ensure you have basic food, milk, water, bread, butter, jam etc for your arrival. There are numerous beach clubs to visit each with restaurant, bar and various water activities. One thing that is a 'must do' is canoeing down the Xanthos river, great fun with a lovely BBQ at the end. Paragliding in nearby Kas for the very brave and horse riding along Patara beach.
