Master bedroom equipped with a/c units.Other bedrooms without a/c do well with out it as property is kept very cool in summer by the lush vegetation surrounding it. Outside: Several shaded terraces in garden all with tables,sun lounges and mattresses. Large diamond coated kidney shaped private pool. BBQ in pool area. Utility Room: American fridge,spare holding fridge,washing machine,tumble dryer,iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid service every other day, towel change twice per week and bed linen once per week. Other: Terrace overlooking pool and manicured garden. 2 x roof terraces with loungers. Private parking with direct access to villa.

Lovely villa in quiet location

Firstly, to confirm, the building work mentioned in other reviews has finished, so peace and tranquillity is restored.

We have just returned from a very relaxing 10 days. The villa was extremely clean and tidy both inside and out. We did not cook there, but the kitchen certainly seemed well equipped, and there’s also a BBQ outside. The furniture isn’t modern (again as mentioned in another review), but it is definitely not old – nothing was scuffed, frayed or worn. It’s all exactly as the photos on the website. The number of tv channels available was an unexpected bonus – especially for the sports lovers who want to be on holiday, but don’t really want to miss THAT match.

We did not hire a car, so all timings are based on strolling in flip flops. The beach is 10 - 15 mins away, depending on your route – off road or pavement. There are bars and restaurants there, open all day and evening. The beach itself rolls on pretty much forever so finding a quiet spot to sit isn’t a problem. Or, as we did, it’s just lovely to walk along.

There are 2 restaurants nearer to the villa than those on the beach. The closest is in the Ria Park Hotel - use the small entrance at the back of the hotel and walk up the steps to the a la carte restaurant. That’s 5 mins from the villa. A further 3 or 4 mins and you have Xenia which has both an a la carte restaurant and a sports bar with simpler menu. The sports bar also offers pizzas to take away should you want a chilled evening at “home”. I have to say that Xenia was our holiday restaurant of choice – lovely food from both menus, and always very welcoming.

Regarding shopping for essentials, there is one very small shop within walking distance - just inside the Dunas Douradus complex, next to Xenia, so 8-10 mins walk tops. It has an amazing amount of supplies considering its tiny size, and kept us fed and watered for breakfast and lunch, but you will not get ingredients for an evening meal there. The closest supermarket is approx. 5 mins drive away.

Bruno was excellent, booking our airport transfers and assisting us with everything we needed during our stay. He was there to meet us and knew the area well, so gave us directions and local knowledge during the meet and greet.

Would definitely recommend for a peaceful holiday in a super location, both in terms of the positioning of the villa and also this particular part of Portugal.

villa with a building site next door

Drills,grinders or cement mixers from 8.30 to 5.30 during weekdays and 8.30 to 2.30 on Saturday.

Villa next door is being completely gutted and the noise is intolerable.

Really disappointed when the agent informed us that this property had the same owner as our villa!

We were verbally offered a free week next year but not surprised when received no response to our request for a written confirmation.

Viila itself was lovely but felt the owner had "ripped us off "by letting it to us when the noise level was unacceptably high.

Villa is a great location, pool is super but the property is a bit tired and furniture was old.

We arrived at the property on a Thursday evening to be woken up on Friday at 8 am with construction being carried out on an adjacent property less than 2 metres from ours. We were assured that the work would finish on the Saturday but it continued throughout our stay and woke us every day before 8.30. We asked to move villa but none were available, asked for a refund due to the noise but none was forthcoming. As a result we could not use the pool some days which was a shame as it is a nice pool. Beach was less than a 15 minute walk and was nice to walk to each morning. Noise didn't manage to ruin our holiday but did provide a major intrusion.

Owner's Response: Dear Sean, Villa was refurbished less then two years ago!New kitchen, bathrooms and painted in and out.....perhaps you getting the dated idea from the rustic and algarvian traditional decor. Sadly the owner next door whose vila boundary wall is 3 meters from ours decided to perform some works on his vila, like jet wash and paint and re garden... However this did not detour you from spending most of your holiday around the villa and pool...We did offer you a generous discount should you have decided to take it. The idea and feed back you gave me on your departure was that not of a 2 star rating!!! Perhaps this low rating has to do with the odd day the men next door worked at 0830AM. However glad to hear you still managed to enjoy your holiday Sean

Excellent. Lovely quiet location and well equipped.

Excellent service from initial booking, great contact via emails before travelling and friendly reception on arrival. The villa and location were accurately described in a lovely quiet location but walkable to beach and some restaurants. Car needed for further exploration but managed very easily without one using uber taxis. Villa very comfortable and well equipped villa with very friendly and helpful manager. Lunch at Vale do Lobo golf club well worth a visit. Would definitely use owners direct again.

Un site de vacances enchanteur!

Pendant plus de 15 jours nous y avons vécu de merveilleuses vacances. Beaucoup d'espace bien aménagé et un très beau parterre, entretenu, pour quatre adultes et deux enfants. Beau et calme!

De nombreuses plages ainsi que l'ensemble des services nécessaires sont à proximité. Très bel accueil.
