Cottage in Dolwyddelan, Nr Betws-y-Coed, LLedr Valley, Snowdonia

Semi detached cottage in the village of Dolwyddelan in the beautiful LLedr valley, which is set amongst the forests, mountains, rivers and lakes of the Snowdonia national park and ideally located for walking, climbing, mountain biking and sightseeing. Explore the many castles (including Dolwyddelan), slate caverns, steam railways, historic houses and gardens in the area. Beautiful sandy beaches are a short drive away at Harlech and Black rock sands. Golf courses at Harlech, Porthmadog, Conwy, LLandudno and Betws-y-Coed. Restraurants and tourist shops at nearby Betws-y-Coed (4 miles). Arvon Cottage has double glazing, exposed beams, LPG central heating, open tread staircase and well equipped kitchen. Well located and equipped cottage, very comfy with all mod cons in a great location to explore Snowdonia. Very handy being right next to a Spar shop as well!

We enjoyed our week here very much. Cottage was very clean and warm. The kitchen had everything you would need. Beds were very comfortable and linen fresh and aired. Very quiet situation, with a very convenient Spar shop very near. Lovely walks and great location. If we tried hard to find a fault, it would be the shower curtain, we would have preferred a screen, having said that, the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Quiet location close to many beautiful walks and activities

The property was in a quiet village next door to a spar, which was handy for buying food. Very close to activities such as walks, shopping, beaches and mountains. 10 minutes drive to a wide choice of eating places.

The house was well equipped although we were unable to use the garden as furniture was wooden and due to rain during the night was always wet and only seating for 2. This was a bit of a miss as we often eat at home.

The bedrooms were nice and we all had a great nice sleep here.

The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area when we met.

Beautiful area of wales and we will definitely visit again in the future.

Owner's Response: Very glad that you enjoyed your holiday. I should have mentioned to you that to the left of the back door there is a garden table and two stacked metal chairs and two plastic chairs that are covered in a green waterproof cover. I think we will need to get a cover for the wooden bench too.

Great stay

A fantastic cottage in a lovely village with a lot going for it. The cottage was very well fitted out and had everything we wanted. The SPAR shop opposite is ideal as well. Most places are in easy reach and there are lots of lovely walks directly from the property. We will be back.

We really loved Arvon Cottage for our family holiday. The house was in the perfect location and was very comfortable indeed, in fact, we felt like we could have stayed forever! The lovely owners provide everything you need for your stay and it's super clean and homely. The spar shop is very handy and the village is friendly and pretty. Don't want to recommend too much in case we have trouble booking this place again.........

A great stay in the perfect location

Our stay at the cottage was perfect for what we needed which was a base to explore the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia. It was fully equip with everything that you could want . The village had a lovely hotel in which we had a good meal, a nice pub just over the road and a spa next door for those esential items. The owners who live next door could not have been more welcoming. We shall book again!!

Harlech, 40 min by car, 20 miles. Black rock sands (Porthmadog), 40 mins by car, 20 miles. LLandudno, 40 mins by car, 20 miles.


Arriva and Express motors bus services and British Rail station serve the village. Approx 1.5 hours from Chester, 2 hours from Shrewsbury by car. Nearest airports are Liverpool and Manchester, both approx 85miles. Holyhead port is 1.5 hours away with connections to Ireland.


Betws-y-coed 4 miles. LLandudno 20 miles. Chester 55 miles.

Harlech 20 miles. Caernarvon 30 miles.

Further Details:

The village has a Spar shop which is open 9am -9pm. The village pub is called the Gwydyr and there is also a small family run hotel, the bar and restaraunt is open to non residents, all are very close to the cottage.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
