Fantastic house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week staying at this cottage. It's so spacious with everything and more that a family would need - lot's of lovely touches that make it feel like a home from home. The kids (and us) loved watching the birds on the feeders and spending time in the garden. The cottage is in a great location and all popular attractions can be easily be driven to in less than an hour. We would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting a relaxed, quiet and wonderful escape in North Wales.

Great week in Dolwyddelan...

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time at Arvon Cottage. Was cosy and comfortable and very handy having the Spar next door for odd bits of shopping. Heating was very effective, kept the house lovely and warm and it was well placed for trips to Snowdon, Betws-y-Coed, Conway, Llandudno, and the Llechweld Slate mines. If I was to suggest any improvement, it would be for a proper shower enclosure as it was a bit of a faff trying to keep the curtain in the enclosure....but no Biggie.

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Unfortunately the shape of the room dictates what type of shower enclosure we have so we have to make do with our version.

Dolwyddelan Cottage

  • 4 of 5

I wanted to spend up to a week relaxing in peace and quiet after Christmas and to have the opportunity to do some walking. This cottage and the area provided just what I was looking for.

The weather was as expected for this time of year with freezing temperatures but the cottage had various heating provisions so it was warm and cozy. The countryside surrounding the village is beautiful with lots of walking routes including valley walks, forest walks and mountains. Make sure you have good detailed maps to navigate forest tracks because there are a lot of them and easy to go off-route.

The owners responded promptly to all communications and were very welcoming. One minor issue with a door handle not working during the week and Bill (the owner) was immediately around to fix it.

We will definately be back.!!!!

We enjoyed our week here very much. Cottage was very clean and warm. The kitchen had everything you would need. Beds were very comfortable and linen fresh and aired. Very quiet situation, with a very convenient Spar shop very near. Lovely walks and great location. If we tried hard to find a fault, it would be the shower curtain, we would have preferred a screen, having said that, the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. Enjoyed our stay very much.
