A great stay in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the cottage was perfect for what we needed which was a base to explore the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia. It was fully equip with everything that you could want . The village had a lovely hotel in which we had a good meal, a nice pub just over the road and a spa next door for those esential items. The owners who live next door could not have been more welcoming. We shall book again!!

Perfect Cottage for Exploring Snowdonia

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at Avron Cottage every year for over 5 years now. The cottage is comfortable, clean & affordable with everything you would need for spending time in Snowdonia (walking guides etc.) The village is a friendly place & people will always say hello & have a chat. The owners are friendly too & are always ready to deal with any enquiries. Dolwyddelan is an excellent base for exploring N. Wales, perfectly situated near the Mountains & Anglesey to the North, the Lynn Peninsular to the West & stunning beaches around Barmouth to the South. We've always found somewhere different to explore every time we come & still feel that we haven't even scratched the surface. Lot of activities too (Climbing, Walking, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Swimming etc) and many of these can be carried out right from the cottage. The miles of Forestry Commission tracks are great for walking the dog too as there are no sheep!

Can't recommend this place enough in fact I'm going to stop this review now as I may be endangering our next stay due to overbooking!! Hope to return soon.

Very nice cottage

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cottage, I visited it with my girlfriend in March, and everything was perfect. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, dinning room, living room and the bedroom has a very comfortable bed.

Everything was very clean, and there is a shop with basic needs just 5m away from the door.

The cottage is also very warm, as there are electrical heaters and gas that you can use to stay warm. The village has a train station, and you can visit many places by train, such as Betws y Coed, Conwy Castle, LLandudno or Blaenau Dolwyddelan.

There are also very nice walks that you can do from the cottage itself.

We would recommend this house, and we hope to come back one day!

Dog Friendly and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant time. Just the unwind we all needed. Bill and Debrah so helpful and un-intrusive. Cottage was very well equipped and pleasantly modern. Glad we took carpet slippers for the polished stairs. Rear patio a sun trap for most of the day. Couldn't have asked for a better situated location; both locally and for touring. Harlach, Barmouth, Porthmadog, Ffestiniog Light Railway, Llandudno and more within easy reach. Local people friendly and helpful. Good food and hospitality at "Elen's Castle Hotel". We would certainly want to book again.

Excellent Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our second stay at the beautiful cottage in North Wales. We have stayed here to visit our daughter at Bangor University. The cottage is immaculate, very clean, everything is provided for your comfort, it really is a home from home cottage. The village is very pretty with a local Spar store right next door, lovely woodland walks and a pub across the road. Parking right outside for one car. The cottage is very spacious with a good size lounge, dinning room and kitchen, large master bedroom and two single beds in second bedroom. Separate toilet from the bathroom, bathroom has a shower no bath. The owners are very polite, they live next door but never disturb you during your stay. Snowdonia is a wonderful place to explore, close enough to drive to Anglesey and other local attractions. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a get away from it all stay.
