Villa in Punta Lara, Nr. Nerja, Costa del Sol, Spain - Pleasantly Situated Close to the Beach with Shared Pool Set in Attractive Gardens

The villa is situated within a small, peaceful enclosed development of only nine other properties. Sympathetically designed so you can appreciate lovely views towards the Mediterranean and enjoy sunshine for most of the day from each of the three ensuite bedrooms or any of the three terraces. The living accommodation is arranged on 2 floors, there are 2 balconies and a private roof terrace, a garage in the basement for the sole use of guests. Wifi internet is provided free of charge. The shared pool (open April to end of September) is attractively set within the private gardens for the use of residents and the beach is only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Situated in the quiet residential area of Punta Lara, this is the perfect place to unwind and relax with the advantage of having all the facilities of Nerja town close to hand.

We live in North Yorkshire, England and have been renting Casa Ladera to holiday makers since 2003 and El Paso Dos since 2006.

We fell in love with Nerja after a spending a holiday there and pursued our dream of owning our own property in the sun. Since our recent retirement we like to spend as much time as possible in the area.

We get lots of positive feedback from our guests and it gives us great pleasure to be able to share our holiday home in this beautiful part of Spain

Lovely villa in a perfect location. We walked in to Nerja and back several times in the evenings (takes about 30 mins) or sometimes caught the 6:45pm bus in. We had lots of great days out, Granada (1 hr 10 mins), Ronda (just less than 2 hrs). Kids also enjoyed Nerja Caves and Aquavelis Water Park. Frigiliana definitely worth a visit. The beach across the road was lovely and always very quiet. We also liked the beach about ¼ km west towards Torrox. Our favourite restaurant was Marbella in the centre of Nerja. Food is great and the sea views are wonderful. We tried the San Miguel restaurant which has previously been recommended but we were disappointed because there was no paella that night and the food we had was very salty. All in all a fantastic holiday.

Lovely villa

The villa was very nice and perfect for our needs. The complex was really small and there was hardly anyone on it so we virtually had the pool area to ourselves which was lovely. We did make a mistake by not having a car but the walk to the beach was only 10 minutes and although it wasn't apparent that there were sun beds if you walked to the end of the beach there was a lovely little area with the best and cheapest sun beds we have ever had. Toilet facilities and a beach bar right next door perfection. The local restaurants were all very nice although we don't always eat out every night. Would definitely recommend it particularly if you are looking for a nice peaceful time although Nerja was only 10 minutes away by taxi and there was plenty to do there.

Perfect in every way

Stayed for 10 days, booking and communication so easy, prompt and helpful. Villa perfect as was location, ideal to stroll or take the bus into Nerja. Villa so well equipped and beautifully clean. Roof terrace with bbq is an absolute bonus. Would recommend strongly to anyone. Had a wonderful stay.

A lovely villa in a tranquil setting

This is a very well equipped villa that met our needs perfectly. (We are three married couples,two of whom are retired). The views from the first floor and roof terraces are lovely.We had a slight problem with the WiFi but the owner was easily contacted to rectify the problem. It may be a little far out of the centre for some but the walk along the beach was very pleasant and took less than half an hour. There are sufficient bars and restaurants close to the property particularly by the beach and a small shop near the hotel across the road at the bottom of the hill. There is also an hourly bus service from outside the hotel. We did not use it because we had a car as we intended to visit several places. A car however is not a requirement for this property.We had a most enjoyable week's stay, I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

Our fantastic stay at this villa

This property is amazing, very clean & well equipped, each of the 3 bedrooms has its own ensuite, the 2 balconies and roof terrace are lovely and a bonus they are sunny all day, the views especially from the roof terrace (360 degree) are to die for, sea mountains and the pretty houses on the hill! The owners have been fab, nothing too much trouble, they even went out of their way to find out local info for us! I highly recommend you to stay here, it's well equipped for babies as well even though we didn't need it, we saw it all!

We went to the Punta Lara pub, walking distance out the gate, turn right and keep walking up the hill when the road flattens out it is on the right, cheap drinks, English barman, mix of customers, expats, local & holiday makers, has limited menu, we only had a drink though!

The other place in walking distance for fab food, drinks at great prices in Venta San Miguel, this time out the gate turn left & go to the end of the road where you come in, and go left on the main road (you prob need to cross to the other side where there is a pavement) just after the big hotel cross back and the restaurant is there, set back, doesn't look much but was really busy when we went, Miguel was lovely and a great atmosphere, the food was amazing.

The little beach opp the complex is nice, there is a beach bar with sun beds to rent complete with pillows! a very nice family run it, we walked along the beach and prom into town it took us nearly an hour to get to the balcon, a pleasant enough walk!

Loved it. A real find

Absolutely loved our 3 week stay here. The photos do not really do it justice.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, lots of room and the 3 outdoor areas were great and the weekly clean was a real bonus.

The community of 10 villas is lovely and the pool area and gardens are well maintained. The pool was rarely busy even being peak school holidays we often had the pool to ourselves.

Kevin and Valerie were extremely helpful, responded quickly to any questions or queries we had and made the whole holiday from booking to us leaving very smooth.

The location within Punta Lara gives you easy access to the bus service into Nerje town and Torrox. The bus stop is a very short walk from the villa. There's a basic minimarket nearby and the beach is a short walk away with some lovely restaurants. It takes about 25 minutes to walk along the beach into the centre of town. There's also a couple of bars nearer to the villa also serving food. The beaches along the coast going towards Torrox rather than Nerje are lovely, small, quiet and easy to get to via steps.

There's parking available under the building or there's plenty of parking on the road but if you didn't want to hire a car there are also plenty of taxi's and the local bus service to access.

El Paso Dos is a real find if you want to be near to Nerje town but not in the middle of it and in a quiet area. Can only recommend it and we will definitely be returning soon.

Thoughts on El Paso dos, Nerja

We have stayed at the villa El Paso Dos for the last four years, our stays have been for two months at a time. Everything at the villa is provided and of excellent quality. The location is in a quite area of Nerja the town is easily to reach by either a short bus ride of one euro or a nice walk along the beach qpprox 30 mins there are some beach bars along the beach to relax in. Nerja itself has plenty of tapas bars (some free with a drink) and restaurants we would recommend are La Fonda, Maria Bonita and El Pugilia which is a frenetic Spanish tapas bar but good fun with locals. Nerja is also a good place to visit nearby towns such as Granada, Cordoba. Seville also Malaga which has a excellent new port and marina.

We found the villa clean and well maintained and would rate it very highly.

We have always Kevin and Val (owners) very helpful in booking the villa.

From the Owner

We felt this area offered everything for a perfect holiday, an unspoilt, laidback, pretty town with a choice of several sandy beaches, great restaurants, shops and bars. There are plenty of places to visit for day trips, Malaga for culture and shopping, Granada and the amazing Moorish palace, La Alhambra, Cordoba, Ronda and more. The beautiful white village of Frigiliana is nearby, where you can explore the cobbled streets and look down to fantastic sea views. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and many routes are well signposted. Golf, horse-riding, water sports & activities for children are all easy to access. Malaga airport offers many budget flights and is less than an hour’s drive away.

Activity and Interests


The nearest beach is 5 to 10 minutes walk away where there is a beach bar selling local cuisine. More facilities and water sports are available on Burriana Beach at Nerja just over a mile away.


Malaga airport is situated a 45 minute drive by car. Although car hire is recommended to take advantage of the area there is a regular bus service to Nerja from Malaga.


There are several bars and restaurants within walking distance of the villa including the 4 star hotel Marinas de Nerja. Nerja's lively town centre is around a 5 mins drive or 30 mins walk along the coastal road or beach, where there are many superb restaurants, shops and beaches. A weekly street market visits the town where you can browse the local wares. The pretty village of Frigiliana is a short drive inland where you can explore the historic cobbled streets and maybe sample the local wine.

Only 5 to 10 minute’s walk to Playazo beach, and one mile along level ground to Nerja centre. A shuttle bus service is available in summer. The villa is south facing with sun all day on three terraces, brollies are provided for shade. Plenty of space for family holidays with free wi-fi and air conditioning. The area is peaceful and the pool is rarely crowded. Well equipped kitchen for self-catering although there are bars and restaurants nearby. On bus route for Nerja to Malaga for sightseeing or travel to airport.
