This superb house is fully modernised to a very high standard and yet retains all of its old world charm. It has very comfortable bedrooms, crisp bedlinen, white, fully tiled bathrooms, spacious seating areas, large fully equipped kitchen and a sunny secluded garden with BBQ on three levels. The house is situated on the picturesque small fishing port and marina of Dahouet. Easy walking access to secluded coves, a magnificent sandy beach and unspoilt mile long promenade. All water sports available, lots of coastline walks and one of the best golf courses in France. Dahouet is famous for Coquille St Jacques, oysters and mussels as well as lots delicious fish which can be bought on the Quay fresh from the sea. There are several cafes, bars, shops and a traditional French bakery. Val Andre, a short walk away, has numerous shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as a thriving local market , seafront casino and a recently opened luxurious Thalassotherapy Spa.

About Mary Allnatt

My husband Floyd Placzek is an artist and I have a Publishing Company.We live in West London.

My brother Dave and his family have lived in Brittany for 20 years and they originally introduced us to the stunning area of Pleneuf Val Andre and the picturesque unspoilt small fishing port of Dahouet , which we immediately feel in love with.

We were extremely lucky to be able to buy our unique house in 2005 as they rarely come up for sale.

My brother is a master builder and he and his team took a year to restore the house to an extremely high standard while retaining the original charm and history.

We have enjoyed many short stays and special long holidays with family and friends who all love the house ,area and Breton way of life too.

Why Mary Allnatt chose Erquy area

The house is in a unique position at the entrance to the picturesque harbor, and marina of Dahouet.The surrounding area is stunning and totally unspoilt with miles of beautiful sandy beaches and the sophisticated beach resort of Val Andre all within walking distance.

The small fishing fleet land their catch outside the house and also sell fresh fish twice a week on the quayside and at the weekly local markets. Seafood is plentiful and delicious with mussels and scallops a specialty.

There are plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques and small shops selling delicious traditional French produce.

What makes this house unique

The house has been beautifully renovated and is extremely comfortable and well equipped.It is a perfect size for families or friends. You can sit outside and watch all the activity of the boats sailing in and out of the Harbour.

The garden is a secluded suntrap on three levels and a great place to BBQ and relax.

There is plenty to discover in the local area which is virtually traffic free. One of the key points is that you can park your car outside the house and never need to get back in it, all amenities are within walking distance.

Thank you, we all had a great time, the house is lovely, (and beautifully equipped), and the location full of interest.

Just back from a great week in your wonderful cottage. We were blessed with great weather and there was something there for all the family particularly the rock pools for the little boys at the nearby beach and the night fishing from the rocks for our son-in-law. We have stayed in lots of houses in northern France and it was definitely the best..

Just got back from a fantastic week in Dahouet, at No 72. We all had the most Fantastic time in your beautiful house, We were blessed with lovely weather, .

We really got around, to Morlaix, Paimpol, before we arrived at the house, we also visited Cape Frehel, Fort La Latte, Cancale, Dinan, St Malo, Lamballe, Moncontour, Cape Erquy, We all fell in love with Brittany and were taken aback by the area.

Val Andre's blue flag beaches are all walking distance and there are many more blue flag beaches along the coast to explore and enjoy a short drive away.Lots of stunning coastline paths to explore as well, with secluded coves and plenty of rockpools to discover. 10 minute drive to see at low tide the world famous mussel beds.

Nearest airports; St Brieuc (15 mins), Dinard (30 mins), Rennes (1 hour).

Nearest ferry ports St Malo and Roscoff.

Idyllic holiday

What an idyllic holiday - stayed with family in August '16. Found the house immaculate, extremely well equipped, but also very comfortable with lots of room for all of us.Had breakfasts on the terrace, & evening meals at the dining table + sampled some of the local eateries - lovely!.We enjoyed lots of walks (& swims) along the headland to Pleneuf Val Andre & the opposite way to the mussel beds of Jospinet. We ventured out to St Malo, Mont St Michel, Dinan, Tregastel etc (all easily accessible) but were always happy to return 'home' .Extra special for us Dahouet celebrated it's Festival of the Sea on our 1st weekend & Blessing of the Sea (very moving & beautiful) on the 2nd. Couldn't have asked for a better holiday - even the weather was wonderful. Sorry - should have submitted review sooner but better late than never?

We had a really special stay -and we will return

beautiful house ,great location ,what more do you want ? -loved the fact you can walk to the shops /restaurants -lovely walk to the bigger town Pleneuf -a day out in itself -we had a few heating 'hiccups ' whilst there ,but Mary was lovely and sent a guy the next day to sort

really,really good -we will be returning hopefully this year

( and i hope you remember to give me a discount -ha ha ! )

Lovely House in charming setting

A lovely, comfortable and stylish house renovated as it says to a very high standard, maintaining its charm throughout as per the photos. We chose it for its spaciousness and the setting as we'd visited Dahouet before and loved the area. There is plenty of parking right outside. We also wanted to be able to walk closeby for a drink or meal and this we knew we could do here. The well known Creperie Le Zef is two doors up, they also serve good steaks. A new restaurant La Voile is just a few more steps away and along the quay from that is another new restaurant the fabulous Le Quay renovated and changed hands since last year, amazing food and views from the upstairs restaurant. Added to which there are two brocants, a patisserie as well as other shops and a take away selling frites, baguettes etc if you want a quick tea in. Just a short drive to Dinan, and a lovely drive to St Malo for a day trip as well as pretty coastal towns with great restaurants and promenade walks, Erquy is a favourite as is Val Andre next door which can be accessed by a 25 minute coastal walk from the steps just outside the front door! The market at Matignon (Wednesday mornings) is lovely and has a good stalls there are other markets nearby on different days. We had a really lovely family holiday here.

Fabulous location and a beautiful house that easily accommodated our party of four couples for the week. The house is in excellent condition, very clean and spacious with first class kitchen and dining fatalities. The local shops and bars/cafes are ideal and after a day sightseeing in the region it was a pleasure to come home to Dahouet. One of the best walks we had is right on the doorstep. We all loved it.

This is my 4th time at this wonderful house- I absolutely love it! The house is immaculate,spacious and tastefully and comfortably decorated - and there's a lovely little sun trap garden (lovely this weekend!). Situated perfectly, opposite the harbour and about 30 seconds away from a stunning cliff walk. There is a great little bar a few doors along (Le Zef), and plenty of other restaurants etc. as well as a yummy boulangerie. Perfect - can't wait to go back again!
