Excellent, quiet and very private villa.

A superb villa with lovely big pool which is not overlooked by any other villas. Pretty garden with fruit trees. Big, clean villa which is very well equipped. Gina is a great host and was very helpful throughout our stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The villa is in a great location for sightseeing in the area. Good restaurants a short drive away. We are already talking about returning next year!

Perfect get-away villa

Lovely villa, well equipped kitchen, good sized bedrooms each with an en-suite and great lounge diner. Great sized pool and well kept gardens. Air con was a nice luxury. Located in the country side but only a short drive to the coast, supermarkets etc. Gina, the host, was very nice, showed us around the villa on arrival and responded to any queries immediately. Would recommend.

Excellent stay in beautiful villa

Villa was perfect for our family. Had everything we needed for our stay and set in lovely private gardens. Gina was very helpful and we really appreciated her friendly welcome on arrival.

We didn’t want to leave!!

We stayed at Casa Marecol in July 2018 and frankly....didn’t want to leave! The villa was really well kept, comfortable, immaculately clean, well equipped and felt like a home from home. It had lots of character too with the owners art work displayed around the property. The gardens were stunning, peaceful, beautifully maintained and a total pleasure to spend time in. Again there were some lovely personal touches too....like fairy lights around a couple of the specimen plants that came on at dusk. The pool was fab! Although a little too deep at the shallow end for our 5 year old to stand in, we had hours of fun in the pool! It wasn’t heated (we knew that!) but it was warm enough to comfortably swim and play in without the need for a child’s wetsuit. The BBQ was great and we ate at the villa a lot. The only comment that I would make was that the table was at the other end of the property to the BBQ but I guess that could have been overcome by moving the furniture. The villa is near to Alvor which is one of the loveliest places that we have visited in the Algarve. Alcalar itself is a quiet, friendly residential area a short drive away from Alvor so a car is essential. However, we felt that it was a great central base for exploring the rest of the Algarve. It suited us well. Gina, the host was brilliant! She answered all our queries on the run up to our holiday and ensured that all arrangements were without worry. She met us at the villa when we arrived and explained everything that we needed to know and was on hand to answer any queries thereafter about the villa (although we had none!) or things to do. She also arranged for some basis supplies and treats (beer and wine!) for our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch. She made us feel very relaxed and welcome. You could tell that Casa Marecol is much loved and cared for by its owners. We shared that feeling for the ten days that we were there and felt sad to leave! Thank you Gina for making our stay so special!

Great vacation
