Set in the peace and tranquility of the Andalucian countryside,surrounded by olive and almond groves, this spacious and newly refurbished cottage has the most stunning views across the valley below. Located only a short drive from the village of Colmenar which has a good selection of tapas bars, local restaurants and local shops, bakeries, butchers, chemist, 24 hour medical centre, weekly fruit and veg market, banks etc. The cottage is detached, private and has plenty of secure privae parking right next to the property.

The property comprises of a large, airy and spacious lounge with sofa, wood burning stove,easy chairs, tv, dvd and a dining area for 4 persons. The well equipped kitchen has patio doors leading directly out onot the dining terrace which is shaded. The bedrooms are airy, spacious and well appointed and have mosquito nets on the windows and fans for the summer. There is also a gas bbq and plenty of seating areas., It has its own private oval-shaped pool, surrounded by inlaid stone patios planted gardens and panormic views of the valleys especially pretty at night. This lovely property is extremely spacious and provides exceptional comfort and is a great base foor exploring this beautiful area of Andalucia with its Moorish architecture, whitewashed villages and traditional cuisine. Malaga, airport and beaches are approx half an hour. Visiting some of Andalucias most historic sights eg Malaga with its intricate streets with ancient taas bars, Gibalfaro Castle, Cathedral and new Muelle Uno Marina,Ronda with its gorge and bullring, Granada with its Alhambra Palace , Marbella and Orange Square , Nerja and its famous Balcon de Europa and Maro caves are day trips due to the property's central location. The main dual carriageway leading to the coast or further inland is only 10 kms. This property is an deal haven of peace and tranquility to rest, relax and soak up the sun!

My husband and I moved to this beautiful region 16 years ago...and are still singing its praises! Our children were born here and have totally embraced the Spanish way of life and language. We endured many years of toil, mañana syndrome, heat, frustration, situations lost in translation.....you've heard it all in the novels! We now run our own exclusive property rental business here in this spectacular region. We have a selection of beautiful properties to suit most peoples' requirements, with private pools, gardens and fabulous views. It was worth it, sometimes we even squeeze a little time to enjoy the sunshine, relaxing way of life and fabulous regional cuisine....and vino! Our extensive knowledge of the area we also pass on to clients to ensure they have a wonderful time.

Lovely property in a quiet, secluded spot

Lovely stay. A comfortable and well stocked villa with a lovely pool in peaceful surroundings which was accurately portrayed in the details. The villa was clean and tidy with Angela being flexible about us arriving and helpful afterward. Extras were provided for us with a travel cot and highchair which was much appreciated.

We would recommend this property for anyone who likes to be a little out of the way and wanting a quiet holiday in the mountains, and doesn't mind driving to get to the wealth of places to see around the area.

Stunning country retreat

This is a lovely country house with wonderful views. This was exactly what I wanted, a private Spanish retreat. The house is down a short, steepish track perfectly suitable for a normal car. The owner has another house very nearby, so you do not feel totally isolated. It is a short easy drive into the lovely town of Colmenar. The house had a well stocked kitchen, so if you choose not to leave the house, you can cook up your own fantastic meals. The pool is small, perfect for cooling dips. You are surrounded by the noises of the countryside, birds and the daily passing of the goat herd. You can easily forget that there is a world beyond your own little hill, but the wifi is very strong if you need to dip into the modern world. Wonderful.

A comprehensive guide to the area, its facilities, locations of shopping centres, water parks, beaches, historical places, country walks, horse riding, dolphin/fishing trips, local events and other leisure activities etc are provided in our booklet at the property. Cot and high chair provided on request, free of charge. Direct internet access/wifi can be provided on request, 25 euros per week, 2 weeks 40€. Starter packs can be arranged for your arrival eg. milk, fresh local eggs, bread, fresh local cheeses, please ask. Bed & Breakfast and "all inclusive" are available on request. We keep chickens,a short walk from the property, so they can be fed and the fresh organic eggs collected by yourselves. Delicious in" house menu" with selection of regional and popular dishes, delivered to the premises, ideal for a late arrival. 48hrs notice, please ask for current menu if required. Long term rentals available from £550 per month.During peak season bookings are taken from Saturday to saturday and are for full weeks. Out of season we are flexible

Booking Notes:
Weekly rentals are based on a maximum of four persons (+ cot on request). A 30% non returnable deposit is required to secure your booking. Full total price of holiday to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. Damage deposit of 150 £/euros required on your arrival, fully refundable on your departure, provided there are no breakages etc. Any offers are per week. Payment by bank transfer or secure payment with Paypal. Any charges are paid by the booking client .

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover Saturday during peak season. Arrivals after 5 pm. Departures before 10 am. We are always willing to accommodate your requirements and can be more flexible out of season, especially if we do not have a preceding/ following booking.
