La Vannetiere is a stone built cottage, the kitchen, lounge, wc and shower room are on the ground floor with stairs leading to one bedroom on the first floor. Outside there is a well established pretty garden set on two levels, the top cottage garden having shade from the fruit trees, the lower, a Japanese style garden with ponds and a small patio area. About Lynda

I have been living in France since 1990 and I adore this area, the countryside is stunning and the pace of life slow. The walks in the area are just lovely as we have the choice of woodland, cliff walks or beach walks.

I am married to a dairy farmer and besides cows we have also have sheep, chickens, ducks and geese and our farm is about 3 km from the cottage. So don't worry you won't be woken up by the cows being milked :)

Besides working on the farm I have a small business making handmade accessories for dogs ie collars leads beds etc I also make Handbags and shoulder bags.

Lynda purchased this cottage in 1989

Why Lynda chose Calvados

I fell in love with this little cottage the moment I saw it, it has a welcome feel about it and it is comfortable and cozy and as I mentioned before the area is lovely.

Comfortable cottage in beautiful rural location.

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious accommodation for two people. A lovely, traditional stone cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside, very well equipped and a nice sitting area in the garden. The owner Lynda was welcoming and helpful in providing information re traffic problems, weather, suggesting walks etc. Would definitely recommend.

Quite cottage retreat beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous rustic cottage quiet surroundings so much to see and do and lovely village a stones throw away. Great to take dogs and the owner offers do walking facilities if requested, being in the countryside so many places to walk the dogs, but if you fancy time out in the city dog walking can be a bonus

Great Time!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at this wonderful old stone cottage. It has a huge dining room table and one evening we had friends in for supper. Sitting around that large table with a roaring fire in the background was one of the favourite evenings of our holiday.

Lynda, our landlady, made our stay fun and memorable. She was always available to visit and to answer our questions. During our week there, she became a friend!

The Swiss Normandy area of France is stunningly beautiful. You will never lack for hiking trails, recreational activities, and sightseeing opportunities.

We had a lovely stay in Linda's Gite, she was very helpful, left us with her mobile phone number. The cottage was lovely just as advertised a huge kitchen we really liked ,we took our Lurcher dog who had plenty of walks . Thury Harcourt was a delightful town typically French, yummy Patissiere. A good idea of Linda was to have a dog tag with her name and phone number on it we clipped on to our dogs collar (heaven forbid she went missing), so much to see and do it was easy to oversleep so peaceful,we hope to return and would recommend it to friends etc. Honfleur is a very pretty town lovely shops and cafes .Au Revoir
