La Vallee Verte as the name suggests is in a beautiful picturesque setting with stunning views over the valley. 10 minutes from town with ski bus stop right outside the front door, whether you go to ski, snowboard, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, or for mountain biking (VTT) and summer activities, of which there are numerous, you will enjoy your stay and want to come back to Morzine again and again. Morzine has excellent facilities and can cater from non-skiers during the winter season. Summer season has too many attractions to list both in the immediate area lakes and activities, and further a field including Mer de Glace, Geneva and Lake Leman and the idyllic medieval town of Yvoire to name just a few.

About the Owner

Roy and Sheila live in a small village near Guildford Surrey with our 3 children and Alfie our Gordon Setter, we have been travelling with our dog(s) for the last 16 years or so. The children look forward to every visit to the region, summer or winter and are making friends and improving their French each trip. The air is great the food is great the views are great and don't get me started on the skiing unless you have a long time! But remember Morzine is a fantastic base for the summer too...walking, mountain biking (VTT), golf, paragliding, horse-riding to name just a few

Excellent chalet, well located

We had a great stay in this chalet, which is very well maintained, well equipped and comfortably accommodated three couples.

The location is good with easy access via the free ski bus to Ardent, and the Avoriaz ski area. Morzine centre, with all it's bars and restaurants, is a short 10-15 minute walk.

The owner Roy went above and beyond before our stay to ensure we had all the information we needed, even providing a short history of the local area.

I throughly recommend this chalet, and would stay there again.

Great Value, very helpful owner

Morzine is a lovely resort especially for skiing.

The apartment was great value, and as described. A short 15 minute walk into town puts you right by all the restaurants and shops.

The owner has excellent communication and was very helpful and accommodating.

All in a wonderful trip.

A great week at Roy's!

We had an excellent stay at Roy's chalet in Morzine. The chalet is clean, well looked after and warm after a long day on the hills, with an excellent shower & bath, equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The chalet is a 10-15 minute walk to the Super Morzine lift but we found that the bus takes you from the Ridge Hotel next door up to Ardent, and from there to Avoriaz, so we did that most days to get to the snow. Roy was very helpful and provided all the information we needed before we left, such as lessons, restaurants etc. We would highly recommend the flat which is great value.

Excellent ski chalet

The chalet was exactly as described, well equipped and very spacious. It was a fair walk to the ski lifts and shops, but was away from the noise of the town. A car was essential for shopping or collecting weary skiers.

Fantastic family-friendly accommodation

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July as a family with young children (3 year old and 9-month-old), plus an extra adult friend (i.e. 3 adults, 2 children).

The accommodation was perfect and would suit us even as the kids get much bigger as the beds in the 'kids room' were full size. All three bedrooms have been beautifully renovated, as has the bathroom. The toilets are a bit more basic(but perfectly adequate and clean), but really, you don't spend much time in there! The living space was perfect for our needs (3 adults indoors most evenings whilst kids slept), but perhaps would be cramped with the 8 adults the place can hold (though presumably 8 adults would go out in the evenings). The kitchen was so much better stocked than your normal holiday rental.

Morzine itself provided a fantastic family summer holiday. We used the Multipass scheme on days that we wanted to pack lots in - e.g. cable cars and swimming. The kids loved riding the cable cars, and it enabled us to do some high-level hiking despite having little kids. The swimming pool was also a huge hit, and we returned to Lake Montriond repeatedly as the little lake was so perfect for small kids.

Roy was a fantastic host - from sending us lots of ideas for things to do, to having a local agent who provided us with help, and even phoning us when we had a (minor and easily fixed) problem with the accommodation on arrival.

We would highly recommend for families and hope to stay here ourselves again.

We all love Morzine and feel privileged to be a small part of this wonderful area. After visiting the town for years we bought here in 1999. We have grown to think of Morzine as "home from home" and everyone is always so friendly. You can never run out of things to see and do and the mountains never cease to impress and inspire.

Travel:

Just over an hour from Geneva airport served by Easyjet and BA etc and lots of transfers to Morzine are available. Morzine is 550 miles from Calais and can be completed comfortably in 8/9 hours. Motorway tolls apply in France.

Distances:

10 minutes walk to town centre, shops, bars, restaurants 2x swimming pools brand new indoor pool and summer outside, and ice hockey etc. 45 mins to Geneva, 30 mins to Thonon

Further Details:

Excellent selection of shops restaurants and supermarkets with some. Carefour selling limited range of UK brand labels, baked beans, Marmite etc! Excellent sports and leisure facilities including skiing, mountain biking, paragliding / parapente, hiking, rock-climbing, horse riding, tennis, swimming, white-water etc. 1 hour from Geneva (Lac Leman) and world class shopping, Yvoire and Evian close by.

Ideally situated a few minutes walk from the town centre and 5 minutes drive from the lake/Ardent. Over the last 10 years we have improved the accommodation and have added everything needed for a great stay. We still have lots of exciting plans and want to continue to sympathetically enhance the property with our own ideas for example future works may include a sauna for the basement, watch this space!
