Whether you are looking for a short summer holiday or a relaxing long winter break, the luxury Ocean Suite Apartments are an ideal choice. Located in the heart of the Algarve, the resort sits on a headland overlooking the crystal clear waters of the bay of Armacao de Pera and Senhora da Rocha. Set within sub-tropical grounds with swimming pool and bar area, this south facing, air-conditioned, 1 bedroom apartment, offers a large living/dining room with a comfortable sofa bed and direct access to its outdoor terrace and garden area. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. There is an attractive bedroom which has ample storage. There are 2 bathrooms, one has a bath (en suite) whereas the other has a shower cubicle. The apartment has the benefit of a secluded garden, with dining table for al fresco eating.

Why Muriel Walker chose Carvoeiro / Lagoa region

The area in which I live is between the popular resorts of Armacao de Pera and Senhora da Rocha. I am blessed with easy access to numerous beaches, many are secluded coves and others are large expanses of golden sand. The area has an abundance of year round activity including golf courses, water parks, nature reserves and theme parks.

I bought the apartment at the Porches Praia Resort as it was an investment property with an excellent rental potential. It is a beachfront location and has many highly recommended restaurants within easy walking distance. It is perfect for a relaxing holiday and because of this I am fortunate to have many repeat bookings.

What makes this apartment unique

The Algarve enjoys 300 sunny days a year and as the apartment is south facing, my guests can enjoy their breakfast and evening meal on the terrace and garden almost everyday of the year.

Car hire is optional as you can walk to restaurants, cafes, and a large supermarket. There is parking at the apartment if required. There is also a bus service passing the resort.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: This resort caters for the very young as well as the young at heart as it has all year around occupancy and is very popular through the lovely winter months in the Algarve. The apartment is comfortable all year around with heating and air-conditioning provided. It is a child friendly resort, with their own pool and safe playing areas. Outside: The lawned area in front of the patio is a sun trap in the winter and gives a private feel to the terrace area, which is supplied with patio furniture including dining table and chairs, and 2 sun loungers. The bar area and swimming pools are only a few seconds walk away and provide splendid sea views. The nearest beach is Senhora da Rocha and is just a minutes walk from the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linens are included and changed once a week. A pool/beach towel is also supplied for each client.

Lovely resort, great apartment, great holiday

We have just returned from a week at Alporchinos and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The apartment is everything it says on the web site - clean, well equipped and great location. Muriel arranged the airport transfers for us and Ian was there to meet us at the apartment on arrival. He showed us around and proved to be a useful in-country contact - thanks Ian! The resort is beautiful with many quiet, clean beaches very close by. There is a range of cafes, restaurants within walking distance and we ate at a different venue each night. A stay at the apartment gives full access to the adjacent hotel with it's pools, leisure facilities, bar, restaurants and entertainment.

There are great cliff top walks nearby with about an hours stroll into the nearby town. There is a pretty good supermarket about a 10 minute walk away with a few smaller convenience shops a little closer.

Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend the apartment to anyone. The web page is very accurate so there is no need to detail all the features here.

Absolutely perfect in every way

Reluctant to say how beautiful this place is so that it doesn't get booked up but we have just come back from the best 10 night stay we have ever had. This apartment is top notch and everything about it was perfect, the layout, the quality of the furnishings, the location in particular is beautiful but what impressed us the most was how clean and well kept this small complex is. The attention to detail and cleanliness of the small surroundings was everything we love about a place. We have literally just got home and are already looking to book again for next year. The owner of this property was so helpful throughout and Ian who met us at the apartment and met us when we got there showed us around and was on hand if we needed anything at all. We went to the waterpark slide and splash twice which we would also recommend (2nd day trip at only €10 per person and a bus picks you up from the pestana viking hotel next door) but I suggest booking online whilst there rather than through the hotel as worked out over €20 cheaper for family of 4. Also great supermarche 10 min walk away and a small selection of bars and restaurants. Next main town Armacao de pera very busy but definately worth an evening visit and walk along the front for shops and more restaurants, you can walk there and get a taxi back costing only just over €5. We also got a bus from literally outside the apartment into old town albufeira and got a later taxi back costing €25. Overall fantastic holiday, we are a family of 4 with 2 daughters aged 10 and 12 and they had the best holiday too and can't wait to return. Absolutely beautiful accommodation (faultless) and can't wait to return. X

Fantastic!!

We have just arrived back from a wonderful stay at this apartment. Apartment very clean and comfortable. Nice space outside for our children and Muriel and Ian always available. We hope to return. Would rent a car next time to do more exploring. Thank you so much!!!

Our Fabulous Algarve Holiday!

We have just returned from Muriel's apartment, having spent 9 nights over Easter 2017. I travelled with my husband and our 12 year old son.

After a rather horrendous airport experience I found that I hadn't brought the instructions to get to the apartment (aargh!) but not to worry, I called Muriel and she kindly talked me through the last part of directions and stayed on the phone until I had let myself in to the apartment (phew!). Shortly afterwards, her friend Ian came and showed us how everything worked and walked us around the neighbouring hotel where we could use the facilities and gave us some great tips to make our holiday even more enjoyable.

The apartment itself is absolutely excellent, perfect for a couple or small family like us. A well-equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Also loads of crockery, cutlery etc and even all the cleaning stuff you could need, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing powder. There's a hairdryer and iron and ironing board.

There were loads of toilet rolls and even soap in the dispensers in the bathrooms! Everything was spotless when we arrived, the sofabed was made up for our son and there was spare bedlinen and lots of towels, white ones for in the apartment and beach towels for taking out.

TV was a massive hit with our son, all the British channels plus loads of Sky Sports channels!

There was a patio set and sunloungers in the private garden area, perfect for relaxing on!

We had access to the swimming pools and other facilities at the hotel next door, this was brilliant and kept our son occupied for hours.

The location is fantastic, a really short walk to a lovely beach, short drive to the big supermarket and quite a few places to eat/drink in easy walking distance. We ventured further out and found a lovely restaurant in Porches, A Rampa, highly recommended! Secure parking right outside the door.

This was our first visit to Portugal, I think hiring a car is a great idea as there are so many lovely places to visit on the Algarve. We had lovely days out in Albufeira, Praia da Rocha, Silves, Marinha, but there are beautiful beaches everywhere! Our favourite day out was to Zoomarine, a waterpark / themepark / zoo just a short drive away. Loads to do, definitely worth a visit especially if you have children.

We loved our holiday and would definitely return to Muriel's apartment, one of the best holidays we've had in a very long time! Thanks Muriel!

Excellent apartment

The apartment was spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable. Very close to restaurants, shops and beach, all within walking distance. The Italian restaurant on site was good quality if a little pricey.

Coast/Beach:

The local beaches are within a short walk of the apartment, but if you explore by car, you are spoilt for choice. To the east there are miles of lovely sandy beaches whereas to the west the coastline is punctuated by picturesque coves.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Faro and it is approx. 40 minute drive to the Resort. Once in the resort, a car is not required as all amenities are within walking distance.

There is also a bus service which runs regularly and can take you into the town of Armacao de Pera.

Distances:

The historic town of Silves is approximately a 10 minute drive away and has a castle that dominates the town. The picturesque small town of Carvoeiro is only a 20 minute drive and is also worth a visit, its beach is small but ample and is fringed with seaside cafes and restaurants and still home to local fishermen whose boats complete the picture postcard scene. The western town of Lagos is approx a 40 minute drive and has a quaint old town and a modern Marina area.

Further Details:

The adjoining hotel is always at hand to help with excursions, and tourist information. There is a supermarket approx. 10 minute walk away and a smaller mini-market for basics a little closer. In addition to the bars and restaurants within the resort, there are a number of highly recommended restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment offering both traditional Portuguese and international quisine. If you prefer typical British food, the Waterdog Pub in Armacao de Pera, offers an interesting selection.
