Notes on accommodation: This luxurious apartment is ideal for couples or families with children due to the secure gateing surrounding the complex. Most children's/babies extras are included with under sink cupboard safety catch and stair gate, bed side, cot stored in the utillity room. Well maintained garden areas, a children's play room and a pool side bar next to the 50m pool and waterfalls all lend themselves to an extremely relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Full air-conditioning and heating system throughout the apartment. Outside: Set in beautiful, well maintained gardens with a 50m olympic size swimming pool with waterfalls, the complex also boasts a shallow pool for children and outdoor jacuzzi. The friendly managers at our well-stocked bar and snack bar (for residents only) serve popular snacks and drinks throughout the afternoon and early evening. Fortnightly barbecue evenings are extremely successful in the high season. New sunloungers and umbrellas around the pool area are provided free to residents. This can all be enjoyed with the peace of mind that this is a secure complex which can only be accessed by key holders and residents. A sea water pool eroded from the cliffs is situated a few minutes walk to the left of the apartments and the apartment is surrounded by a number of Cala beaches. Utility Room: This fully equipped utility room stores an iron, ironing board, washing machine, bedside for small children (plus portable door gate, travel cot and high chair). There is also a rail for coats/jackets and storage for inflatables and kids toys. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bathroom towels and bedroom linen are provided to a high quality and colour co-ordinated. A mid stay cleaning service is also provided on longer stays. Other: The patio is furnished with a glass topped table and large sofas for outside dining and relaxing (plus 2 comfortable loungers)

Spacious family apartment

The property is in the small town of Cala Egos which consists of restaurants and a few supermarkets and a small beach .

The apartment itself is very well equipped , everything that you need from a self catering point of view.

A bonus was a selection of beach spades, surf board, buckets, umberella and a sun tent.

The complex is secure and children cannot get out unless they know the code on all the gates.

The pool is exactly as stated on the photo and there is a small area for toddler children . The main pool area starts at 90 cm going to 1.50 ( I think)

This is graduated and starts to get a bit deeper just before the bridge.

The sunbeds are an issue as many people reserve them very early on!!

The poolside snack bar serves until 6 pm and the food is nice.

The owner sent very helpful information before our visit and there is info in the apartment.

The wifi is excellent as is the tv and to

My boys delight they could watch match of the day!!

I would return to this apartment again in an instant, it was so relaxing.

Plus there is a spar 2 mins walk to get bread etc each morning.

Lovely apartment in a great complex! definitely recommend

Don't understand the last review as we had an excellent time!

We are a family of four who stayed for 2 weeks, and found the apartment had everything we needed. Very clean on arrival, good instruction book with info about the apartment and complex. Great balcony where we enjoyed some lazy lunches, with a lovely view over the pool area. The apartment itself was fully equipped with nice modern decor. Plenty of cutlery, utensils, plates dishes etc. Washing machine came in handy as well. Air con worked great as did the wifi. Plenty of wall sockets as well.

The complex itself was lovely, very busy as you'd expect this time of year but with a certain calmness (seemed to be a lot of nice families about). Pool was very clean as were the gardens/surrounding areas. The snack bar/bar was great. We had some nice lunches there, and a few tea time drinks (beer on draught and a good selection of spirits and soft drinks). All reasonably priced. Lots of nice local restaurants as well.

The owner's communicated very well leading up to our visit, and answered all our queries promptly.

Big thanks, and we will definitely be back!

Ants, silverfish, hard bed, dated furniture

We arrived to find loads of ants in the bathroom I was told prior to arrival about this and the owner asked me to bring some ant killer from the UK! This is not something you normally pack to go on holiday. Silverfish were also present!. The apartment did not have a feel of being freshly cleaned, probably the cleaners had not been there. I would not call this apartments " luxury" as in the description. The bed in the master bedroom was not a queen size bed but two single beds put together and they were so hard and I did not sleep well at all. The furniture in the main living area was very dated and was in need of updating with more comfortable furniture. Kitchen was basic. Overall I would not describe this as luxury, the bathrooms are old and one had no ventilation so lots of steam everywhere. Also there is a water softener which means the water is so salty and tastes awful in bathroom even to brush your teeth. The apartment is overall overpriced for what is is. The owner does not allow anyone to leave feedback on owners direct which is not good at all. If there was feedback I probably would not have chosen this apartment and wasted quite a lot of money.

Owner's Response: The guest's original review sent to me via email is copied below. The review written here on HomeAway reflects the guest's angry reaction to me asking if she had any idea about damage that had occurred in the apartment following their departure (as any owner would have done). This email regarding the damage was also sent to other parties who had worked in the apartment following the guests departure, in order to get a clear picture of how it had been caused. I am mortified by this subsequent bitter and unfair review. We have previously only ever received positive email feedback on the apartment. This particular guest was becoming a friend not just a guest, hence me asking her if she would mind taking some ant killer with her (so that it wouldn't affect her stay). Our cleaners could not find ant stations in the local area. She was happy to do this, so I reimbursed her. This is the first time silverfish have been found, and the cleaner started dealing with them immediately. The water filtration unit and water softener also greatly increase the quality of the water in the area (which is slightly salty being coastal) above what is naturally found, and can be consumed from the tap in the kitchen with no residue at all. It is also libellous to say that I have ever tried to stop a guest putting a review on the site, as I have never done this, and the review requests are sent out via Owner's Direct. I will ask a couple of other past guests that have rented on several occasions to leave their honest feedback to clarify what the apartment is truly like. Mrs Nolan's Feedback on email reads.. "Hi Kathie, Hope you are well. We are back from holiday and had a good relaxing break. The apartment was fine. It was nice and cool at night which was a blessing. My girls really enjoyed the time there and had a great time swimming. The swimming was good for my osteoarthritis in my knee also, loosened it up but I am really looking at a knee replacement sometime soon. "

Location

Coast/Beach:

The picturesque coves of Cala Egos and the surrounding area are close by with the unspoilt Mondrego beach (and beach bar/restaurant) accessible by the local road train or a 10 minutes drive away by car. Water activities including diving, bike hire, boating trips and tennis can all be found locally.

Travel:

Palma airport is approx. 45 minutes drive from the apartment. Taxis can be pre-booked if required (90-approx. euros for 4 people each way), otherwise many good value car hire companies operate directly out of the airport, making pick up and drop off of vehicles very convenient. Driving on the island is fairly easy with well-signposted directions and good dual-carriageways (one runs the majority of the way from the airport to the apartment). Many quaint villages with weekly markets can be visited.

Distances:

The apartment is well located at a 5 minute walk from the local shops and rich choice of restaurants in Cala Egos, and about 15 minutes walk to the exclusive Cala D'Or Marina. The main area of Cala D'Or is a 5 minute drive but well worth a leisurely stroll taking in the Marina along the way.
