Villa in Deia, Mallorca - Great Location In Deia Village ....

A beautiful fully refurbished 300 year old detached village house in the heart of Deia. This house offers a haven for peace and tranquility with stunning views. It has a salt water pool to cool you down on hot summer days within a private garden with palms, and hammocks to laze around in watching the mountains turn pink at sunset. The kitchen has all mod cons and if you’re into cooking there are plenty of herbs (in season) growing in the garden like mint, rosemary and different types of basil. There is an external kitchen for preparing meals and chilling drinks in the garden. Many of the original features have been retained. We have created flow, space and light in this beautiful old property. In summer the house opens up whereas in winter with the full central heating its perfect for hibernating, cosy amidst the wild with the fire lit watching movies on the HD TV. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

About the Owner

We are a close family with 2 children aged 36 and 29. We split our time between Manchester, London and Deia. We bring Ruby the dog to Mallorca whenever we can. My wife and I are (supposed to be) retired! We have made many good friends in Deia.

Un superbe séjour en famille

Nous sommes arrivés dans l'après midi à Deya petit village magnifique de Mallorque qui vous réconcilie avec l'image que nous avons des Baléares loin des grands hotels moches et sans âme du bord de mer.

Le village est typique du passé majorquin avec des maisons en pierre dont celle de Stewart, magnifique.

L'accueil fut fantastique Elena nous attendait elle avait rempli le réfrigérateur, petit bouteille de vin blanc boissons pour les enfants chips cacahuètes pain beurre.... tout commençait bien. Nous avons commencé la visite avant de boire un verre, les lits étaient faits, les serviettes de toilette à disposition, serviettes de plage et panier. les chambres sont lumineuses spacieuses et agréables.

Le jardin n'est pas très grand car c'est une maison de ville en plein centre mais suffisant la piscine est magique, il y a un petit coin voir grand coin barbecue avec frigo congélateur évier eau chaude une seconde cuisine extérieure.

Je vous donne tous ces petits détails car les photos ne représentent pas bien la maison elle est cent fois plus belle en réalité !!! Quelle jolie surprise, c'est une maison où l'on se sent bien, au calme, les enfants ont pu joué du piano, superbe quart de queue Yamaha qui nécessiterait un petit accordement mais c'est le seul petit bémol à cette location il n'y en aura pas d'autre. Nous étions 4 adultes et 5 enfants et étions comme à la maison, c'était des super vacances j'espère que nous pourrons revenir ! merci Stewart

A wonderful casa in the heart of Deya!

We stayed in this delightful house mid July for a week. A super location just minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Deya, in the summer season.

A spacious, well equipped, wonderful home which was very comfortable with all the mod cons and a beautiful white baby grand to play which kept 2 lively boys amused!

Both the interior and exterior were chic & well designed and the pool area outside was charming and private on every level.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this delightful home and shall certainly return in preference to a more restricted Hotel vacation.

VILLA PERFECT

When we arrived at the villa, it was even more gorgeous than the photos. Done up with great taste, but so comfortable that we all immediately felt at home. So much so, that we barely left. It was all we needed to recoup our energy. And the short walk up the hill to the village meant that we had plenty to choose from regarding where to eat. Could not recommend it more highly. Will definitely return.

Location

Deia has a unique character. Robert Graves settled in Deia in 1929 and his descendants live in the village. There are many artists, writers and musicians who have found Deia's picturesque views and relaxed way of life inspirational. We had thought of buying in France or other areas of the Balearic's but once we found Deia there was no turning back.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Palma at 25 Kilometres Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Creative workshops with Roger McGough, Di Redmond and other known writers use the house as a base. Watch out for the Pa amb Oli band playing at Sa Fonda for a great night, check if they are playing, not to be missed. PS Sa Fonda, up the steps opposite the supermarket, is the hub of village life and should not be missed.

Coast/Beach:

25 minutes walk to Cala Deia, cove with rustic pebble beach and 2 bar/restaurants (one used in "Night Manager". The Cala has not been modernised which, for us, is its rustic charm.

Travel:

Palma airport 30 mins drive or 45 (approx) euros taxi. Recommend hire small car as mountain region is well worth exploring. Parking is nearby

Distances:

Valdemossa is abut 10km from Deia and 11km from Soller. Central Palma is 35km and the airport is 41km away.

Whether you’re journeying here to laze in the house dreaming by the pool or barbeque before watch the shooting stars, or if you’re more active to walk up the mountains or along the coast, or delve into the art, try the world renowned restaurants, stroll to the beach (20 min walk), visit the church, or drink cocktails in the Residencia whilst the sun goes down…or party in Sa Fonda (the one and only bar in Deia buzzing with creative folk and local people with live music in the summer), There is a welcome pack provided on arrival to set you up and from there Deia is your oyster!!Deia village is a 10 to 15 minute walk up hill (depending on your fitness). The village has a disproportionate number of good restaurants. The Sa Fonda bar is basic but very popular with live music during the summer. Those with more expensive tastes should try a drink on the terrace of the Hotel Residencia.

Michael Winner (April 6 2008) said, "Within a one-mile radius of La Residencia hotel, which I visited for Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 60th birthday bash, there were at least five great restaurants". We love music and have run "Open mic nights" at the house, stay long enough to get to know the locals!
