Apartment in Sesmarias, Sao Rafael, Albufeira, Algarve - 10/15 Minute Walk To Beautiful Coves And Sandy Beaches

Our lovely 2nd floor apartment is on small complex amongst private villas 2km west of Albufeira Old Town next to open countryside with fabulous coastal views. The beautiful beaches of Arrifes/ Sao Rafael are only a 10/15 minute walk away. There are restaurants and a mini-market within 5/10 minutes walk. Our apartment is very comfortable and has all the home comforts. The twin bedroom which also has a small sitting area is on a mezzanine level above the living area. The living area is spacious and airy. The lounge/diner and main bedroom have heaters and there is a log-burning stove which can be used during the winter months. Patio doors lead onto the sunny south facing balcony which overlooks the pool and restaurant and has a lovely sea view. The swimming pool has free sunbeds/mattresses and the tennis court is available at a small charge, payable locally. We have tennis racquets and a selection of beach equipment/parasol/beach chairs.

High quality furnishings. Fantastic taxi transfer. Amazing pool / sea view. Lovely beaches within walking distance. Great cooking falsities. Balcony space with table and chairs to enjoy dinner on whist looking over the pool and sea view. A real Home from home which you can tell the owner takes pride in. Will definitely be coming back and would 100% recommend this apartment to any family of 4, couple(s) and/or group of friends.

Superb apartment in the perfect location

We have stayed at this apartment twice and had a perfect holiday on both occasions. The apartment is spacious, modern and perfectly positioned between the old town and the strip. The apartment is also located close to the beach and the view from the balcony is amazing, ocean views! We love this apartment and are already planning our next visit. John & Dominique.

Fantastic Apartment in a Great Location

This is a modern well equipped apartment in a lovely resort of Sao Rafael. The nearest beach was a 10 min walk away and various other beaches nearby. We used the pool and snack bar at the apartment with plenty of sun beds. Less than 5 min walk to the nearest bar, supermarket and restaurants.

Casa vela was a home from home with fully equipped kitchen comfy sofa and British TV channels.

We had a pleasant Walks to the Old town of Albufiera and the marina daytime and at night.

We spent 11 nights in Casa vela, had a wonderful time and will be booking again in 2016.

I would like to thank Michelle for arranging airport transfers, useful information,prompt responses and a lovely apartment.

Case Vela ❤️❤️❤️

Still smiling since we returned from a great 10 nights spent in this fabulous apartment of Michelle & Mikes! 😀

We enquired quite late about the availability of this property, and received a very prompt reply. At every stage of our booking Michelle was extremely attentive and informative about the apartment and the area. Assisting with taxi transfers, and even a checking in issue with our airline! Above and beyond what would normally be expected! Nothing seemed too much trouble for her.

As we arrived late at night the complex was quiet and so we settled down for the night, ready to explore the area the following morning.

As we pulled the shutters the following morning we were extremly happy with the fantastic view! A pool and sea view and not a cloud in the sky!!

The apartment was immaculate, and anything we may have needed was provided. We felt effort had been made in each room to give it a comfortable and homely feel! A real home from home 😀

The pool area was clean, with plenty of beds, and bar staff were very attentive and friendly.

Our favourite beach was Arrifes, with it's beach side restaurant Sardinhia, offering fabulous fresh fish dishes cold beers and wifi! It could be reached by foot following a hillside path offering spectacular views of the coast.

We had a restful 10 days in a resort that was relatively quiet yet within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of Albuferia old town and the marina!

We have been back less than a week and are already talking about going back next year!

Id strongly recommend Mike and Michelle's apartment at Casa Vela in a heartbeat to anyone!

Fantastic Holiday

We stayed in the beautiful Sao Rafael in this beautiful, modern & very clean apartment. A perfect location for our family, with spotless pool facilities, friendly restaurant/bar & tennis courts. The accommodation was very well equipped with everything we needed, from fresh bed linen to towels etc & our lovely welcome pack with water/bread etc. Mike & Michelle were easy to deal with & friendly

We wanted something near the Old Town that would be quiet enough for our family, we were pleasantly surprised to find the small beautiful beaches & landscape that surrounded us & yet we were within walking distance to the Marina & then the vibrant Old Town. The shops were just a short walk or else a little further to the supermarkets. We will defo be going back again & highly recommend this apartment. We had a lovely time staying here as did our boys

After years of travelling looking for our favourite place to buy an apartment we finally fell in love with Albufeira. It has everything we want, an endless number of fantastic coves and beaches, a choice of lively or quieter nightlife, a wide range of attractions nearby, the beautiful Old Town with its cobbled streets and very importantly, a designer shopping complex nearby for our two teenage daughters!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

2 beautiful beaches are within 10/15 mins easy walking distance. Each has a restaurant/beach bar open in the evening.

Sao Rafael begins a series of beaches and sandy coves stretching towards Gale beach with plenty of watersports.

The Old Town has 2 large beaches reached from the main street through a tunnel in the cliffs or take the new lift! Fishermen's Beach promenade has many restaurants.

The nearby coastline boasts countless stunning beaches, all of which are accessible by car.

Travel:

Faro airport is 35 mins by car.

Car rental/returns are very convenient at the airport.

Transfer is straightforward with connections via the IP1 (A22). Driving is very easy along the whole of the Algarve coastline. Road networks are excellent.

Taxi transfers can be arranged.

The local bus service stops close to the apartment - also the zoomarine bus.

A car is not essential but recommended if you wish to explore all the stunning beaches within 20 mins drive either side of Albufeira.

Distances:

Albufeira Old Town with cobbled streets, main square, restaurants, bars, boutiques & beautiful beaches 2km -5 min by car/taxi. 

New Marina-20min walk

Gale beach/watersports 10 mins by car.

Beautiful Salgados beach/golf- 10 mins

Guia - Algarve designer shopping/bowling 5km.

Zoomarine-Guia 8km : Bus pick-point 5 min walk from apartment.

Open top tour bus stop -5 min walk

Aqualand, Slide & Splash & Krazyworld less than 40 mins.

Maps, leaflets and guide books are available in the apartment.

Further Details:

The apartment is situated in the upmarket residential area of Sesmarias to the west of Albufeira Old town, just a short drive through the new Marina.

There is a mini-market which sells a variety of English products and papers and a bakery within 5 mins walking distance.

City bar alongside the mini-market has pool tables, big screen TVs and internet access.

Hotel Maritur restaurant - 5 mins walk

There is also a Chinese restaurant/take-away.

Other bars and restaurants nearby within walking distance.

There is a supermarket & cafe/bar alongside the Management office in Albufeira. You can park easily there and walk into town along the promenade and to the beaches.

You can also park in the Marina and walk into town, stopping off at the viewpoint or cafe. 

Albufeira has a lot to offer for all ages. The old town has character and a good selection of lively bars and restaurants lining the square and adjoining streets. Enjoy a meal along the marbled promenade overlooking Fishermen's Beach.

For a livelier night out take a taxi or the land train (in Summer) to "The Strip", a street packed with shops, bars and restaurants.

A car is not essential but recommended to enjoy all that Albufeira has to offer.

A great day out is at Zoomarine at Guia. There is plenty to do in a day. There are dolphin shows, sea lions, parrot shows, funfair, swimming pool with new slide etc. There is also the opportunity to swim with dolphins. A wonderful experience for everyone! We would certainly recommend it! The zoomarine bus pick up point is within 5/10 mins walk.

Taxis are reasonably priced and easily available. Cards/phone numbers are in the apartment.

The apartment is in a peaceful area alongside villas but only 5 mins drive from Albufeira. We never tire of the views across the hillside. We have a sea view and there is a lovely coastal footpath just outside the complex that leads to a series of fabulous beaches. The airport is only 35-40 minutes away and driving and car-hire is easy and convenient. We can leave England in the early morning and be in the pool or on the beach by mid-day! We have a local agent who can help with individual requirements. e.g. baby-equipment, golf, excursions, car-hire/transfers etc.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: An open tread staircase leads from the living room to the twin bedroom on a mezzanine level. Please be aware that there is no safety gate for younger children. We can provide a cot and highchair at a small charge. There is a panel radiator in the lounge/diner and master bedroom. The log burning stove may be used in the Winter months. Fans are available at no extra charge. Smoking is not accepted in the property. Outside: The sunny, south-facing balcony overlooks the tennis court and Casa Vela's swimming pool and restaurant. There is a patio table and 4 chairs. Seat pads and a sun umbrella are provided and a drying rack with plenty of pegs! The swimming pool and sunbathing area are in excellent condition and kept spotlessly clean throughout the year. Sunbeds and matressess are provided, free of charge. The restaurant is open during high season and meals, snacks and drinks are good value. The tennis court is available until early evening. A local charge will apply. The pool and restaurant area has a good atmosphere during the summer season but is never too crowded! Parking is available outside the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned before/after each rental. 1 set of towels/linen are included per week.Maid service is provided in the middle of a 2 week booking. Additional maid service/laundry is available at extra charge. Please bring your own beach towels.
